GT4 track you hate most

well they did revise seca, its more realistic especially the corkscrew. i like the new corkscrew. i drive it better than in gt3, i guess its just the way i drive. anyways back on topic. i dont hate any tracks but there are some i would rather not race repetatively. the track i dislike the most is cote d'azur. i never liked it much in gt3 and i still don't.
 
those who don't like Suzuka and Fuji 90's are the ones who can't drive
you've to be good at driving to appreciate the brilliance of the design

Fuji 90's , each corner each bend is designed just right to trick you, that's what i like about it

Suzuka, obviously one of the most demanding and technical course in the world

why would you think Senna or a lot of other F1 drivers like Suzuka the most?
 
Fuji '05 makes me angry because there is so little challenge to it. The track is too wide and the pavement run-off areas give me no real incentive to give an honest effort of staying on the racetrack. The corners are all butchered from the original Fuji design. To me this raceway is fully dead.

I'm also not a fan of R246, and for reasons unexplained.
 
Hate some of the badly thought out street tracks with boring PGR style blind corners. Opera Paris is a dud, same with Seol Central (spelling?) and Hong Kong. I don't mind New York (good switchbacks and throwing the car from left to right) and don't hate the narrow italian costa di amalfi.

no i dont. and thats ok. greatness of anything depends on who you ask. for you they are great, for me they are boring. :).

on topic, i'll add that i am not a big fan of hong-kong. just slipped my memory...
 
I guess liking or hating a track depends on your driving style, I like the indianapolis type of circuit because I'm basicly a **** driver :D, but I'v learnt that you love a track more depending on how much insight you have on it.

all modern tracks built from the last few years are designed to have paved runoff areas due to safety and the cars can get back on track to continue to race instead of stuck in gravel and retiring

If I have to like Suzuka to be a good driver, I'd rather just keep driving badly.

:P j/k. I really hate it now, but I'll probably be forced to get used to it as time goes by, and then I won't think it's so bad. That's what happened with Deep Forest over the course of GT2 and 3.

I don't like the Grand Canyon much. I assumed it would be pretty high speed, but it's all twisted little second gear corners that just aggrivate the hell out of me.
Again, maybe once I get a handle on GT4s rally physics ( :crazy: )...

I like both tracks but I also understand why people dont like them. They're not as Fun as most.

Using the F1 comparison doesn't cut it either. Most of the drivers like Spa, then you got Suzuka, Silverstone and Montreal. The rest are mostly Tilke designed atrocities...they dont have much choice. Even Silverstone and Spa are just shadows of what they were. Then you got Hockenheim.........

The secret to fast, dishonest rallying :D is that you can bump the fences with the rear of the car and not suffer a penalty. So if you anticipate the proper corners and swing the nose in the proper direction then you can careem off the barrier with a fair bit of force and not get stuck at 30 mph... For the more scrupulous this also works to save you when you overcook a corner by mistake.
 
I dont like any of the non-tarmac rally courses. The physics are just too unrealistic for my liking. but I didnt buy GT4 to be a rally game so im not too worried about it.

When I first read this the 'ring was by far and away my worst track. but now... its my favorite!! Especially with a seriously over-powered rear wheel drive car - It keeps you on your toes every single second of that monstrous lap.

And to the point of this thread... my top 3 worst tracks are...

Fuji '05 is a pain because you cannot see the edge of the track for all that tarmac every where until your on top of it.

Suzuka is also a nightmare its tough but easy at the same time?! I tend to find my mind wandering halfway though a lap and end up touching the gravel traps which must be quick sand at the rate it takes speed of the car!

Hong Kong also makes it to my top 3 worst tracks becasue of that damn hairpin that you either have to 'nudge' the walls or slowdown to 10mph to successfully navigate it - and the size of some of those curbs on the 90 degree bends! Thank god GT4 doesn't have car damage. One sniff of those things and you'll be sitting in a wreck by the end of one lap.
 
New York, Seoul Central, Hong Kong. I hate those tracks. Their nog fun to race at. I'm not fond of street racing :yuck:

Tracks I like the most must be Grand Valley Speedway, Twin Ring Motegi Road Course and offfcourse The Ring :)
 
Motegi is probably my least favorite, followed closely by the new fuji tracks, even though I liked the 80's and 90's versions. Motegi is just too long and boring, though I must admit I enjoyed ploying into cars to launch them over 100 feet into the wall with my 500hp Sti on the 8hour race.

As far as rally tracks, I have to say that Grand Canyon is a beast of a track, I remember when I used to think Tahiti Maze was a challenge, and I've never really had much fun driving on ice yet.

Favorite track has become the Nurburgring after beating M34 because it has so much speed and variety.

Side note: I don't know why people hate on Suzuka when it is a technical masterpiece. I saw on the F1 website that drivers commonly pull about 3.3 gs on EACH turn when they go through the s turns on the east part of the track.
 
Im sure if I was a real racing driver I would love Suzuka. Unfortunately, im not. The closest I have to racing is this damn game and unfortunatley my dual shock controller cannot generate Gs so suzuka just feels like the same mundane corner over and over again. Nothing against the real thing - just within this game

Just before the last chicane, there is a bill board across the Suzuka track which says "Konami ". Isn't Konami the developer of Enthusia Professional racing"?? And isn't EPR the, so called, GT4 killer?? So why is GT4 advertising for their competitor??? :scared:

That sign probably just appears on the real life suzuka circuit, so props to PD for keeping the track as realistic as possible. Gran Turismo has no reason to fear an racing game competitiors.
 
Alrighty, the tracks I steer clear of most of the time are -

Seoul central (I don't find anything special about it)
Tokyo R246 (Too many boring races with the minolta have put me off it :\)
Hong Kong (No need to explain)
New York (Doesn't get me excited)
Fuji 2005 and 2005GT (I sure as hell hope this isn't going to be like the real life Fuji)
Opera paris and George V paris (...meh?)
Fuji 80's ("Stop living in the past Marge")
Aaaaaand for some reason I don't much care for infineon, not sure why.

On the other hand I LOVE -

Clubman SS5 and SSR5
Seattle curcuit
Cote de azur
Citta di aria
Costa di amalfi
Tsukuba
Fuji 90's
The 'ring (God bless the Germans)
La sarthe I and II
Aaaaaand everything in original circuits (I'm an oldschool GT'er, Mmmm, Deep forest)
 
Tracks I don't like to drive are:


*Any Motegi course.... left... right... left.... right....zzzzzz. Feels like the racing game I used to have on my 286.


*Any Fuji course... '90s version is the best one, but still not very interesting. I often just cut through the chicane thing by going onto the grass. Oh well, you're not supposed to, but they don't penalize you either. They should implement a drive-through penalty or something if you do that... but they don't, so then I just use the shortcut. Cheap? Yes, but a better alternative than losing.

*With a car with 350+ horsepower I don't like Cote D'Azur at all, I keep on slamming into walls with those while driving to the max.

*With a slow car I don't like La Sarthe, especially not version II. Sore thumb from holding down the X button on the straight.


*Any rally or ice course... actually I still don't like rally at all. The road rally courses are pretty fun though.
 
I like most tracks in the game exept the following:

Test Course(Even on B-Spec it's tedious)

Autumn ring mini(though I love the proper one)

Motegi west(the others are OK though)

Tskuba wet(I can't win. ever!)


What's wrong with Fuji?
I really like the long straights and the chicanes.
