I haven't read the rest of the thread yet, but that has GOT to be the FUNNIEST POST EVER!!! haha 👍 to code!!
I can see how GT4 does look somewhat better, but I mean I have yet to see an XBOX racer that looks realer. Except for RSC2.

Oh god, here we go, cobragt is about to be totally stupid.

*hold on to this seat*

Go on the cobra, make a total arse of your self, and we can all laugh at, and rip you to shreds for the millionth time.

"Best arcade rally. Colin is alot better and more realistic."

MWA HAHAHAHAHAH, that's all I have to say. This single statement tells me that you wouldn't know a sim if it hit you in the face. Colin M is NOT realistic you tool.

RSC2 is the best rally game out cobra, I know, it's not on the ps2, but shockingly, the ps2 doesn't have the best game in every genre!!! SHOCK HORROR! Colin looks like crap, plays like crap, in general, is a pile of crap (any format), I guess it might be good if you don't own RSC2 or one of the WRC games.

Still funny though, call your self a sim fan, then start touting the CM games as being realistic, oh that's good.

I give Colin a 7.1 on the scale. It's decent, but RSC2 is a much funner game. The only hard part is driving through snow at night. That's gets even worse when the headlights are out. Snow is not my best (my worse) on it.

The headlight effects on RSC2 are gob smacking, it's awesome on bonnet cam, going at about 100 mph, the bonnet shaking like mad, and you can see nothing in front of you except the next couple of seconds of road.:). I love that. The scenery is damn incredible in that game, I love how you can knock trees over, and how the leaves are kicked up by the car, it's so nice

Yeah but cobra, it's a crapper game, so no one cares. TBH I dunno, if you call turning on a central axis realistic, then yeah, CM is more realistic :P. RSC2 at least does proper 4 wd, the cars don't feel floaty, and they turn correctly. Did I mention it's less crap too?

Hey hey! CMR may not be much to look at, and the physics are...wierd to say the least, but it had an intangible feeling of immersion to it. The sounds were top notch, the wipers and rain effects were great, the co-driver wasnt on CRACK like the one in RSC2. The damage was sweet and affected the car. It just had a bargain feel to it, like an expansion to CMR03 rather than a true sequel. Also, the highest difficulty was actually very difficult, nice to see for a change. RSC2 is great as well, better in some areas, like graphics, physics and sense of speed, but I took a liking to CMR.

As for realism? Yeesh. Warped realism would be a good term

the co-driver wasnt on CRACK like the one in RSC2

co driver - turn left

player - what left?

CRASHHHH!!!!!!!

ROFL, true, it's as if he had taken notes of the wrong bloody tracks LOL.

Best bit about CM for me, was the sound of the grit bouncing off the bottom of the car, that was superb. I've only played the pc one, but I love how the engine vibrates too when you rev it :). That was classy.

Code, you made my day with this thread. You should win an award or something. I haven't laughed so hard in a thread in a long time.

As I can see the origional cobra is back, and he obviously didn't learn a damn thing while he was gone. He's still the sony arse kissing bullsh***er he always was.

My take on the GTvsForza:
I haven't seen any of the latest videos (such as ZerO posted(wont d/l)), but the latest pics from the newest build look very good. I don't care if it looks "cartoony(obviously not)", it still has more trackside detail and looks fantastic up close. Even taht pic of the NSX with horrible shading looks really good. I also think that GT will look great, but obviously NOT REAL. It looks more realistic, NOT photorealistic, NOT mistaken for a TV, NOT a pic of the latest shumacher race (spelt wrong  ) Forza will be great, no doubt about it. In the end though, from what I have seen, GT looks like the better game.

Cobra wins an award.....

...ANOTHER wooden spoon!

This wooden spoon is for his fantastic ability to not grasp irony(once again), and common sense(once again).

I don't deserve an award, I'll never be as funny as cobra

Glad I made some one happy though *winks at triple play* lol, at least members like you, and most others, are smart enough to give constructive non "xb0x is GEY!!, PS2 RUL3Z, FORZA IS A KARTOON" style answers.

And who says graphics make a game *cough*Cobragt*cough*.

Sure they help, and they are helping Forza.

I am ashamed of myself though. After seeing a Video of Enthusia, I want it more than GT4. I hate to say it. It's just very impressive. Porsche lovers will like it since the 911 GT3 is in it.

Nothing wrong with that mclaren, SHHHH though, don't tell anyone, this is a GT4 forum for Gt4 fans, we'll have no trouble here! :nervous: :nervous:

I never said CM was a sim. It's still more realistic than rsc2.

Cobra, CM is FAMOUS for it's garbage physics, cars that float, turning circles in the middle, as I said, if you think that's more realistic, then that would explain alot...

tbh though I am being abit harsh on CM games, they are fun enough.

527 replies, blimeh! And I've read them all...

that word again. realistic. Good is irrelevant to you. All you care about is mock realism.

Even funnier that CMR has a wonky physics engine.

If I was asked what a better shooter would be, given the choice of Halo and Ghost Recon, the answer would be a resounding halo. Or for people scared of xbox references, uhhh timesplitters 2 and ghost recon, it would be timesplitters 2. SIMPLY BECAUSE THE GAME IS BETTER. It isnt grounded in realism, the weapons aren't real life representations, the graphical style isn't as realistic as tom clancy tactical shooters (i still love em, dont get me wrong), but it is of higher quality and polish.

If I was asked which RTS I liked better, Starcraft/Warcraft compared to any number of derivative "realistic combat" modern rts, I would go for the one with the most ingenuity and creativity (the blizzard products.)

Games are supposed to be fun. FUN. Even PD has to strike a balance between playability and realism. Games aren't real, and if they were, would you want to play them, honestly? Aside from virtual love simulators, of course.

You're right.

The Tourage is in it though.

1 question.
IN GT4 the Skyline brakes lights. Only the outer ones light up when you brake right?
In Enthusia, all 4 brake lights light up (not counting the thin brake at the top of the trunk)

So whp's right? Enthusia or GT4? BTW, the Vanquish in GT3...It looks like it's brake lights go light up on the turn signals. Is that the wat it's supposed to be?

Actually don't you think this comment is more true of virtual love simulators than anything else? :D I mean if there's one thing where too much realism could be a pain ...

In terms of car simulations, well, I think most cars drive pleasant and easy enough to simulate them as realistically as possible. And if I compare the driving experience of say a friend's Corsa with the Mazda2 in Prologue on street tires, I say the simulation of the Mazda2 is pretty darn good already. Cars like Corsa's and many other modern cars today even come with a semi-automatic that's a lot like the DF Pro stick.

Realism, I say bring it on! All cars are driveable, and it doesn't bother me if some of the faster cars are more difficult to drive, that's just a very nice and natural way for the game's difficulty to go up.

I finally have GT4:P, and I'm dissapointed (in GT4:P not GT4 final). :)
It's too damn easy to control those cars, I found only 1 way to lose control.
Drive on straight with JGTC car 200+ kmph and start swinging with handbrake... you have to do it like 10 times before you really start spinning out so... even that is not realistic. AND YES all driving aids are off.

But I have hope for the final build, cause the e3 reports said things like the "shelby cobra being a beast to control". And your brakes lock when braking to hard.

Some people see ultimate realism/simulation as gameplay/fun.
So a special simulation mode for GT4 would be nice.

ps. About the rally game discussion, Richard Burns Rally promises to be the first rally sim.

Pak, you're not trying hard enough! Try putting road tyres on, not super sticky arcade tyres.

Or even better, try the M5 @Fuji with road tyres...it will take you a while just to get it to go round the track  never mind quickly.

And before you say you haven't got the M5, I thought you were implying it was too easy :p

Edit: Also when using the DS2 there are assists on that you can't turn off, it won't let you steer wildly down a straight at speed (that would be crazy). If you can't wait for the M5 try the SL55 with road tyres as well
