gt4vsforzamtokityoungpicsn341m.jpg

now compare the GT4 reflections..with the real life one.....

yep the gt4 pic has better reflections

I'm not talking about the Rx8's reflections in forza. There is nothing to reflect so why would there be one to look at. I just used that picture because it was on hand.
Look at any of the other Forza pictures w/ reflections, they alot easier on the eyes and realistic.

How does that look good? I've never seen a reflection so bright that the lines of the front fascia had dissolved into one flat surface

That pic has had the brightness put way way up

same location with the real brightness levels

WOW, look at the car! Looks like its floating in the air! Even with the small bumped change!(End Sarcasm)

Yeah, Forza is a lot better.

I'm sure you're kidding. I mean look at the quality of that screenshot! The brightness is all the way up and the quality has probably been shrunk so much it's 10 KB big!

Can I get an in game?
thank god that forza pic came from the year old unfinished demo huh?

these the only ingame pics with the car i could find right now, too be fair these are straight off someones tv

No reflection is real or nice when it's been turned into a partial 2d image because of a reflection.
and can I still get a in game GT4 reflect w/ the brightness down if that is "supposed" to help

Id say gt4's looks quite a bit better, not bad for the old ps2

Isnt that topleft picture of GT4 in 1080i, and the other pictures you posted, cuz when I play in 1080i it looks exactly like this.

Both racing games has their own diffrent ways for making a simulator. I'd say that GT4 is more a driving simulator since it has cars that even a non car person know. They can use the car and race it around a race track. Forza is more of a Racing simulator because it devotes most of its innovation such as damage to racing. For example, if you cause too much damage to your car it will be slower.

Graphic wise, Forza is more rich in color, and GT4 less color depth. Forza uses hardware lighting and shader effects to portray a realistic image. GT4 uses software lighting effects but has a more finer and smoother car models than Forza.

The thing that I hate about GT4 is that they spent 4 years or even more making this game and the newest thing they put in there for tuning is Nitrous.....WTF o_O. In terms of realistic tuning, I'd say Forza has it hands down.

They both have obvious pros and cons such as Forza being able to play online and compete in tournaments, and damage models that goes hand in hand with performance. GT4 obvious pros is that it has ALOT of cars, and that it has 1080i 👍 Cons are obvious too, such as Forza not having "that" many cars, and that the cars detail in forza is not that astonishing than GT4 but still good. GT4 cons are actually little detail that cannot get out of my head such as the non existence of wheel lock from hard braking ( even with all assist off) how does it simulate driving when it doesnt do it right, other cons is that though the A.I. is good, its not great ( I love a good challenge), the other most noticable and probably most important ( to me anyway) is online play.

I mean they both are great games, but lets wait till Forza is finalized and is out till then anything about forza is just statements, once its out then we can give out the facts.
If your still confused or whatever just look at the comparison IGN did and decide for yourself till the game is out.

in photo mode the resolution AND textures are bumped up like crazy, zThats why the car looks so smooth, since all the PS2 is doing is rendering the car model and backround. If you were to play the game like this it would slow down so bad that going 100mph feels like 10mph.

In all honesty the car models are looking much more realistic i'd even say more realistic than Gran Turismo.

Can't wait until we see the finished product in May :)

Holy mother of toads batman! the new ferrari batmobile can float??

No Robin! that's just Forza!

;D

I tried to outline some of the main problems I see with this "in-engine" render. And its something I have noticed on lots of pics of forza.

The game engine has just a weird way of handling specular highlights, diffuse, and reflections. Not to mention there isn't even an atempt to try and simulate bounced light. In the end it makes the cars look very cg. The way it distributes specular highlights makes everything look like plastic, not polished paint.

I outlined the problem areas on the top original, then tried the best I could to fix them in the lower picture.

I hope this helps explain.....Forza may have the poly count...but GT4 smokes it in terms of render, and natural look (from what I have seen so far)

sorry about that, I was thinking about something else.
But your right about the resolution being bumped up, I got my pictures to come out at 1280x960 from transfering it to my pc.
