Hopefully this week more time to practice and make something beautiful out of it.(last week 1,5 hour to practice:yuck: )

good times to everyone.

Greetings Le Mans:tup:

Mmmm, tasty... I'll be waiting for you guys at the finish line. :sly:

hmm... I guess I will also start racing this week. Fasten your seat belts, and wave when you lap me :p

I like the el-capilan reverse. Just wish that sometime it would let me fly off the cliff just before the tunnel...

So the first 30 minutes are done so here are the first split times.
T1: 43.114
T2: 1.29.333

Very demanding circuit with a lot of bumps and things to make our ride very nasty but it is joy to make a good lap.

Greetings Le Mans

This looks fun. Well spend quite a bit of time on this one.
First splits

T1 - 41'688

T2 - 1'26.833

Happy racing,

nige

Yeah, I'll definitely be spending a good chunk of time on this one as well... :) The suspension's even soft enough to take the nasty bits off of most of the bumps. 👍

First stint, got all the big chunks of time out of the way, now it's on to whittling away with a tenth here and a tenth there.

T1: 40.759(can see me pulling a 40.6xx so far)
T2: 1'24.858(lost a few tenths here, so I can see around a 1'24.5 if I really get it all right))

A few tips:
-Use ALL of the track
-Focus on carrying as much speed as you can through the corners
-While not losing focus on trying to carry the most speed possible OUT of the corners
-Use less steering angle to allow the car to accelerate more easily, take the straightest path possible coming out of corners
-Let off the gas a little bit if you want the nose to tuck in

EDIT: Haha, this car can do cookies!!!

Another sweet combo. 👍

First session:

41.105
1'26.461

Another 5 laps and down to:

41.060
1'25.788

T1: 41.737
T2: 1'26.989

Done on my third lap... Weirdly, my third lap is often one of the quickest I'll do, it could take me ages to beat this

And, because it's so slow and uses racing tyres, it's not as bad as I was expecting :D

A few tenths here and there ! Nice combination again this week 👍

T1 - 41'109

T2 - 1'25.579

nige

Well I did my first hour, and you need to stop playin' Kyle! 👍

T1 - :40.379 (seen 40.289 once)
T2 - 1:24.715 (seen 24.649 once, but I'm losing LOADS of time here somehow)

Jerome

I assume this is somehow related to doing a donut?
Yep!

Whatcha talking about? I haven't raced for a good while now, I'm working on the front suspension of my Volvo. :) "Sorry boss, can't come in to work today, gotta get some things done on the car..." :dunce:

I have about a half an hour into the race so far, can't be much more than that though.

New Splits for me

T1 - 40'718

T2 - 1'24.784

Happy racing,

nige

Cool little combo ... foot to the floor in small cars is great and relaxing 👍

My best save so far has 40.344 / 1'24.383 I can see another few tenths scattered about especially the very last turn which is probably my worst bend, looking forward to racing more on this

edit: couldn't resist a few more laps :) .. 40.279 / 1'24.277

Absolutely love this combo, really challenging but somehow easy to see where time can be made up. My biggest problem is the right hander before T1, I'm losing at least 3/10ths there. And then probably another tenth or two on the hairpin before the uphill area. More to come...

40.725
1'25.138

T1 - :40.339
T2 - 1:24.525
Final - The downhill chicane I lost .2 there, haven't got the perfect lap yet, perhaps more attempts later before I move. Looks like you got me again Ron :)

First splits:
40.821
1:25.584

And looking for some clarification:

The unpainted "sort of" curbs that seem to be cobblestone - part of the track?

On the left side before the last turn before the bridge before T1 - to the left of the white line appears to be concrete - part of the track?

And lastly, the concrete beyond the curbs after the tunnel I assume is out of bounds.

Well. I think I might use this race as my comeback into GTP's WRS.

Looks like a good combo.

Can't wait to get my teeth into it. Should be fun.

Seeya at the finish line. :)

I had half an hour.
its all about getting through the second sector for me.
Ive always had a problem with that double right before the hairpin left at the bottom of the hill, and i cant seem to carry speed through there yet.

40.453
1'25.007 :ouch:

This run was as close as you get to the wall on the bouncy crest too.
Now theres a sentence only GTP'ers would understand.

Good luck all
:irked:👍

Traditionally (As in: Week 71, last Capitan Reverse race), the cobblestone things are considered legal.

The second area, I'm not sure what you're referring to - the left side is waaaay outside the recommended line for the corner leading up to T1 - any in any way, it was legal in previous Capitan weeks. I just don't remember it being close to the line for that corner (and I did win that race in Div3).

The third, it's more dust than concrete, and has been illegal.

Good one 👍

What I was doing there(maybe not the best thing, but better than what I was previously doing) was basically this: shave off some initial speed before it dips down and to the right, pop it in third, gas it until imaginary apex between the two corners, lift to tuck in the nose, and power the rest of the way around it.

Play with it a bit, it might help.

What a great race! FF cars are not my best but I find these Cup Cars very fun, mainly on these bumps.

My first session yields me these splits:
0'40.496
1'24.886
and a poor last sector, I lost around 0.3 here.

Yep as I expected I'm hooked :dopey: new splits for me ..

40.135 / 1'24.140 ( took .3 off at the line 👍 )

I'll be back with more hopefully :)

I'll definitely put some laps into this race, looks fun. Won't have anything until tomorrow or Thursday though.

Seems really competitive already 👍

Awesome splits by Mr P 👍

I ran some more laps and improved my laptime by 0.7.
0'40.470 (.388)
1'24.732

Grr... I wish I had more time available this week. I may be able to squeeze some in tonight, but I really need to get some more work done on my car before Friday. I'm going to be on the road from friday through monday, on a cruise of sorts with a bunch of other Volvo guys in Canada... :)
