Freaking disappointing, I didn't have any time to play!!! waaaaaaaaah!

Time submitted from my first and only tooooo short session.

Time for sleep and then hopping in the car for Canada!!!! w000!

(can you tell I'm excited? :sly:)

Edit: Just looked through the rest of the thread and at the leaderboard... Amazing how much time is hiding in there... Well done guys!

Jeez, you guys are quick in this little thing... guess I really should learn to use MT :S

Anyway, time to get up on the leaderboard

T1: 41.447
T2: 1'26.400

here is a picture from as there is no photocomp thread :p

^^ that's a nice one mike.... I really like the text treatment 👍

Ugh. After 10 laps or so I just suck at this. 41.9 / 1:26.9

Anyone want to PM me a PAL maxdrive save to show me a sub 41 / 1:25 💡

T1 0'42.428
T2 1'27.948

WOW! i need to study the contours of the hill a little closer, but not as scary as Nordshcleif-NUR. I just got TXR Drift2 that fun also but the AI is so blah!

Here's probably what I'll end up submitting. I can see making up maybe two tenths on the hairpin before the uphill area, but it's doubtful if I can actually do it.

40.688
1'24.766

Leaderboard Updated!

Finally managed to get back on to GTP - Too many DB errors lately. :indiff:

Hour long session last night....

T1 - 41.459
T2 - 1'26.175

Not as fast as some, but still room for improvement.

@ OnlyMe - We're gonna need a photo-finish for this one! ;)

Another try and I improved my 2nd sector, but I lost 0.15 at the last hairpin :ouch:

Now at:
0'40.287 (39.9 possible if all goes perfect)
1'24.128 (seen .009)

Is this legal?? :nervous:

Is this legal?? :nervous:
That's a tough call. In BC6 this would most likely have been legal. I remember that the asphalt run-off zone in Deep Forest (right before the T1 tunnel) was allowed and this looks like a similar sort of zone. I would say that's legal, but others might say the opposite. So I'll let Ron or Sjaak clarify that.

Nice splits btw, looks like you'll be in D1 soon enough 👍

Jake, I had the same question - here's the answer

And looking for some clarification:

The unpainted "sort of" curbs that seem to be cobblestone - part of the track?

On the left side before the last turn before the bridge before T1 - to the left of the white line appears to be concrete - part of the track?

And lastly, the concrete beyond the curbs after the tunnel I assume is out of bounds.

A-no part of the track
B-no part of the track
c-yes,out of bound

so for all area's you named, no more then two wheels on it.

edit: well at any rate, I just got a better time with 2 wheels on so I guess it doesn't matter anymore.

Jαke;2738141
So it is part of the track? I am still confused. Can you have all 4 wheels on that concrete area? Yes or No?

I think that is 2078TM's question B, so it's illegal.

No. Sorry. :dopey:

You can't have all 4 wheels on the conrete area, becuase it's NOT part of the track.

Talked with Sjaak about it, when he was here. Plus he also answered it pretty clear in the thread I think. :)

got it. thanks... 👍 I didn't interpret Sjaak's post correctly... :dunce:

corrected splits with 2 wheels on:

40.333
1'24.340

0:41.039
1:25.105

With a read of the tips on the thread and a little PMed help from RenTec, The Venari got things swinging. Didn't even have to call Bob. I think he's in Hawaii.

There's definitely a cobblestone lodged in the front suspension, I hit them pretty hard, but legal, according to the thread. I know there's a dent in the roof where my Caberg smashed into it. Must look at tightening the safety belts a bit more.

New splits... (I know, about time!)

T1: 40.613
T2: 1'25.214

Not overly happy with the second sector to be honest, my ghost car noticeably caught up... But the final sector is a bit of a corker (if I do say so myself!) and it could take me ages to beat it..

I think it's clean... :)

Found another half hour to practice.
T1: 41.409
T2: 1.26.798

Have to practice on the second split lose a lot of time there.

Greetings Le Mans

Anatomy of a crash: don't do this at home, kids.

Started out by badly missing the line on the previous corner and going over the green at full chat with a little left lock.

Thought I'd share, it looked quite brutal in the replay. :)

And on a cleaner run (!) I got:
0:40.690
1:25.184
And cleaned a quarter second off my final section.

Okay, time to jump in and post something. I've been lurking for a while and all you fast guys are scaring me. Still eating dust at this point but at least it's warm dust.

0:40.623
1:24.820

Don't even ask how many hours it took to get this. I've seen 40.4xx on the first split but buggered it up after that. To the guy who's getting 40.1xx, my car wants what your car is drinking.

P.S. The black car is fastest.

Strop, welcome to the WRS. I agree, the black car is the fastest, but I gave mine some special sauce and it delivered a:

40.103
1:23.747

The tight left before the long uphill is critical, you have to carry as much momentum as possible on exit. I'm shifting right at the crest of the hill before T2, it makes the downhill more controllable.

wow that is fantastic, must be because you're using the black car, I've only tried the green one :sly: how are you doing that critical turn? using the rumble strips? or wider, to keep more speed? I've been doing at about 77 kmh, using the strips. Is it the best way?

I'm getting my best run up the hill using third gear instead of second in the tight left, not sure what my speed is. For all corners, the sooner the front wheels are straight, the better, it really helps acceleration.

I feel there is still more time left, I'm not consistent and not hitting all the corners quite right even on my best laps. I'll be giving it another go here in a bit.

Saw 40.298 on the first split then had to brake for an old lady crossing the road at the hairpin. Sigh! Finally put together another decent run.

0:40.439
1:24.660

Not sure where to specify it but I'm using a DFP.

Should've done better on this but I got too excited when I saw the first split and could have been a lot tighter on the latter stages. After chasing ghost fumes for half an hour it was a shock to be in front.

Still not too sure how to handle the hairpin on the second split and the subsequent hill climb. If I take it tight my ghost seems to gain speed and pull away and if I take it wide I drop a couple of tenths straight away.

another improvement, and now I'm at:
0'39.856 :scared:
1'23.781 :banghead:

2 bad corners: both the hairpins: the one before the tunnel and the last one :guilty:

the first sector is pure fun 👍

on the first post (posted by Mr P), it's written "All submissions must be sent by PM to me sjaak68" , so who is supposed to receive our laptimes?
