Had a go again this morning.

23.876
53.678

gtbadboy, with that 2nd split its only a layer of paint between us. 👍
If you combine the other t1 and this t2, well, you have me beat big time.👍

I think you and I have similar driving styles Kenny.:) I will admit to not having such a good last sector so you may have me at the line. :nervous:

I also admit my time is being divided between here and gt5p. You and I have already enjoyed any number of great encounters and I look forward to many more.👍

Steven, I'm not getting carried away. I just don't believe that with the proper settings, short of the second coming, that split is possible IMHO and I voiced an opinion. If I am proven wrong.................salute but, I suspect hell will freeze over before we ever see that replay.

I need practice for a LAN meeting next weekend! so I will be running a few laps in this tonight, but don't expect any decent splits as I'm totally converted to GT5 now and all my GT4 abilities are long since out the window I fear :(
This is just something to give me a feel of the physics again 👍 Hope to be able to find something with some decent effort :)
Cheers
Ron.

You and me both bro, I have to go to Seattle and then San Fran next month to play GT4....ruh roh! will make for close racing 👍

Jerome

Good luck with it Jerome! It aint easy going back haha ... I have been running this for the past 2 hours now ... and a good hour was just getting re-aquainted with the old graphics and handling 👎

anyway I have a clean 23.515 / 52.607 thats lost a bit at the end section :ouch:

I also have a 23.487 / 52.533 with a tiny 3 wheels off on the pavement after T2 yet .2 faster at the finish line :indiff: It's still something I will chase down to beat my time tomorrow. I can see another couple of tenths around within my capabilities but no way can I see another 3 seconds at T2 without some form of rocket up my ass ... I reckon a very fast driver could go 51.5 at the most @ T2 but that 49 by Dan is surely a typo ... I hope :dopey:

Was finally able to give this a run yesterday...

24.851
55.721

Still some ground to make up in the middle of the track.

Will give it another go before Talladega starts :D

Second go round...

24.041
54.117

Big sweeping turn after T1 was the biggest opportunity before. Hopefully will have time to take another crack at it tomorrow.

wow about 15 laps later and I haven't been able to better my time.. :( .
Maybe I'm a one lap wonder, i.e do one lap.. thats the best I'll do ..

:banghead:

Will have another go at it before the deadline, but my confidence is about as high as Super Aguri surviving past Instanbul ..

yep i used +20 percent power, stupidly, ah well i'll try some more laps before the deadline, oh and i'd like to appologise for my harsh outburst in last weeks results, that was a pathetic display of anger on my behalf, as i didnt get my own way and threw an baby tantrum out on sphinx, so appologies again to sphinx.

I'm glad you posted that Dan, we all have our moments we would rather forget. Hopefully you can nail another nice lap and provide a replay this week.

I'm going to have to drop out of this one. I got ToCA 3 on Friday and have been playing it like crazy. I had started practicing this challenge earlier in the week, and decided to return and try to improve my lap time... but going back to GT4's physics just sucks (sooo much understeer :(). I wasn't making any headway.

I'm sorry Erik, you're probably a lot more forgiving than me, but I can't understand why we would except his apologies anymore when he's proven in the past that he keeps on behaving like an ass after he made apologies. I'd rather see that we/Jerry prevent him from ever having to apologize again on this forum...

I'm afraid I must agree with Hugo. For my entire stay here at WRS it has been a constant fight to get you/Dan to comply with some very basic and uncomplicated set of rules. I wish I could believe this were the end of it but, a leopard doesn't change his stripes eh? Just MHO.

yeah i know i've had my moments in wrs that i'd rather forget, but i want to move forward with a clean slate if thats ok

had a go with the corect setings and managed these

23.522
52.308

a little timid in the last sector though:tup:

its a bit late in the week to give out tips but i'll just tell u the gearsi used and the revs ect

1st,5th gear at around 160, using every inch of the inside rumble (grass also) , 2nd a quick 4th at 130km/h switching to 5th at 150km/h, then switch to 6th gear at 200km/h...3rd corner drift it in4th, dont have much to do with the concrete section on the inside, its not useful, then engine brake as u tackle the secnd right in 4th gear hitting 5th as u hop over the grass, 3rd for the hairpin at 80, likewise for the left right at 95 then its fullthrotle in 4th then 5th as u exit the left right, last corner in 3rd exiting initially at low 70s, shift as specified for the t1 straight except switch to 5th at 155km/h

I've managed to improve my total time with splits that are actually a little slower than what I have posted. I plan to give it one more go tonight and will post my final splits when I submit. Good luck to all still running. 👍

You're way too fast this week, I had to pull out every digit I have to make mid 53s. Going to have another go tonight but feeling a bit miserable with the flu so don't hold out much hope.

At least I can stop chasing that mythical 49 at T2 :)

I wasn't aware we could go too fast around here. :sly:

I ran one more brief session tonight in an effort to improve my lap or get back to the T2 I managed early in the week combined with the last sectors I've managed late in the week, but it was not meant to be. So my splits from my submitted lap are -

23.882
53.240

Good Luck to all. 👍

Kevin

Not the best of finishes but got my goal at the finish line ...

T1: 23.799
T2: 52.972

Good luck everyone, this week was fun and I definitely like Deep Forest just for the scenery alone but the car was also reasonably well behaved. It took me ages to figure out the racing lines but don't think I could improve much more on this, probably lost .2 at the last corner (went deep again :( ) but the rest was pretty good.

Time Submitted.

Time submitted. T2 is a bit slower than posted but picked up .2 @ the line. Not good enough to catch Andy and EDK I suspect but the best I could do this week. Good luck to all still at it.

I will be giving this combo another session before I submit. Yesterdays sessions gave me hope to be some what faster. I have three laps with faster times (-.3 at least), but all three are dirty in the tunnel before t2, and only by 2-3 inches. I will be working on keeping a tighter line through the tunnel, just need to be a bit wider on the lefty before it.

Some really good times this week by all.

Submitted my lap from my last session, whenever it was. Definitely wasn't the session I wanted to be my last, but no time did me in, again... :(

Time submitted! wont have anymore time on this one ... It was fun when I eventually adjusted to the cars reaction to the brakes, but so many times I wrecked a faster lap by going 3 wheels on the pavement after T2 :dunce:
My final clean save has .. 23.615 / 52.570 ... ( It's still over .2 slower than my other save at the line 👎 )

It was fun though! Good luck to all taking part
Cheers
Ron.

I had some time this morning to check a run I made last night. I used the 'grass crete' in a few areas and I had to freeze frame that area Ron is speaking of several times to make sure I just stayed on the rumble :dopey: Looks good so I'm gonna sub it.

23.664 / 52.847

See ya all at the line 👍

Only had time for one more session with a very small T2 improvement - but with what is hopefully a strong finish (picked up .320 at the line)

23.999
53.136

Time summited

23.931
53.323

Good luck all!

What does this mean guys "Unconfirmed Private Message Receipts (1)"
I sent message @ 8:25am PST
Thank you

Just submitted my time to Sphinx.
I had a last go at it and did not improve my time. Splits are listed in Luxy.
I'm not very pleased with my driving lately. Good thing this is all for fun. :odd:
