My schedule is very similar to SHigSpeed's. 2yr old daughter, pregnant wife, and full time+ job. Last week I drove the Minolta 340 miles (500k?), probably a little more than usual. I've only been able to put about 20-30 laps into this week :grumpy:. I need at least 3-4 hrs usually to put together a descent lap (depending on familiarity with the track/car). I usually run my best lap about 15-25 minutes into a session. Lately I've been trying to make myself stop there, if I don't, I'll just slip into a haze where I keep slamming into walls and pressing restart over and over and over.....

T1 24.464
T2 50.800

chOked!!!

0'23.133 ( lowest t1 ive seen )
0'48.489 ( lowest t2 ive seen )

Wow man, just truly amazin splits there! Okay so I have a good question to ask you all here at GTP; What hurts more....having splits like these and not being able to finish the lap (which we ALL can attest to) or....*DRUM ROLL* ~WOMEN~....LOL. j/k, no hard feelings EXelero/Kolyana/any other women out there in GT land....

Well I just put two more hours into this combo, giving me a total of about 3 hours this week, not sure if I'll put any more time in. I know I left 0.5 from T2-Finish but this T2 was the best I've ever seen so I can't complain.

T1: 0'24.052
T2: 0'49.833

I'm a little disappointed in the last sector but I guess I'll have to live with it for now.

[EDIT]
Okay...so I couldn't leave it alone, I put in another half hour and put down a lap with satisfying sectors all the way through. I'm at my limit in this one so I suspect I'll be submitting it:

T1: 0'23.947
T2: 0'49.830

That T1 was the best I've seen and my T2-Finish was much better than before 👍
[/EDIT]

I managed to put an hour in this morning, coming out with the following splits:

T1: 0'23.833
T2: 0'49.801

Had a stonking T2 to finish so I am well chuffed! 👍 I will try again tomorrow to see what happens.

Have a good one!

Thats pretty good! considering you only got one good arm to work with! I was gettin those times at the start of the week :dunce:

Thnx,
but it's gearing automatic caus I can't lower my gear...

Ok, enough of the endurance races. Im gonna get right back onto ths tonigh after I upload the final segment of my endurance writeup. Damn, there it is, endurance again! :dunce:

Lewie
I just put in about 45 minutes and was .4xx faster overall! (mainly in the 3rd sector)

I have a question about one turn, where I think I just hit the curb a little strong, but I want to check to see if I hit the wall. I have saved the ghost replay, now how do I go and take a photo? I have checked the analyzer and I didn't lose any speed, but there's this wierd spike, which I'm thinking is from hitting the curb.

New times:

T1: 23.702
T2: 49.423

280, auto, no aids

I have a question on that topic : do walls mark the track border or are there invisible borders first ?
I mean, there is a turn on my fastest lap where the car comes rather close to the wall. Close enough to make the replay worth looking at.
The replays looks fine, I took several close looks in photo mode, and I never see the car closer than a hand width to the wall. Though, the analyzer shows a slight speed decrease at this point (.2 km/h).
Is it possibly due to the rumble strip riding or could it be due to an invisible barrier that the car would have hit ?

Ok, my fastest lap is a crap lap, so it is no big issue (not as if it would cost me a division victory), but I find the question worth being asked.

@flat...I think this is one of the tracks where curbs can act like walls. When I did photo mode, I wasn't even close to the walls but I also lost b/tw .2-.3 km/h. I'm still hoping to put in another good lap, and hopefully improve, so there are no questions.

Kolyana

OK, Great! Perfect time for me to give new splits then :p

Gave it another 15 or so laps, finally put on super softs and changed the speed setting to 260

New splits
24.246
50.923

Pretty happy 'bout those :)

And what sort of woman would I be if I didn't include your new found speed in the latest board?

Re-updated :)

not sure why you wouldnt start on super softs...
the more time you have to get used to the combo the way its supposed to be the better...

I find out where these speed drops come from : gear shifting.
Every time you switch up one gear (I'm using manual mode) the speed drops (sometimes by as much as 1.2 km/h), and it also happens in the straights when there are no walls at all.

After a new 15 minutes session, my new best clean saved lap :
T1 = 24.631
T2 = 51.263
Lap : improved by 1.043 sec

There is plenty of time left but I probably won't have time to go for it.

Havent been able to race this weekend, maybe squeeze in another 30 minute or hour session on monday! its sports weekend for me :)
Favourite football (Rugby League for all those in Australia and the rest of the world if they know what im talking about) team is playing!! GO THE EELS!! heheh! cricket is on (ashes), tennis is on (finals time)! jeepers!! hahah! GT4 is taking a break!

Looks like another week where i get beat by division 3 drivers again!

Nice work there hot604 id be spewing over that lap, with those splits!
Good luck to all

I hate myself.

Beat my previous T2 by .3 of a second, then beat my final time by 0.03.....

T1 - 23.541
T2 - 49.426

Stupid, stupid me....

Exactly right flat. 👍 That's what you're seeing. Which is why we like to shift as little as possible. :)

As long as we are discussing analyzing laps, I'd like to put in my 2cents.

I don't use photo mode for wall hits. If you hit a wall you know it. period. If you suspect you MAY have hit a wall, the chances of catching it in photo mode are slim to none, since you are trying to capture an event that takes less than .2 seconds to occur.(wall hit) IMO the only thing to use photo mode as absolute proof for is offs. Otherwise I just use it as a guide to see how close I am to a wall.

@Lewie. If you are seeing a weird spiky thing in analyzer, you need to widen out the speed curve. I usually widen all the way. It takes more time to analyze a lap, but that's the only way you will find the little touches. And you will find them. If you are exiting a turn, under acceleration, with no brake showing and see a 1 or 2 mph drop in one frame advance, that's a touch. No question.

Sometimes it's tough to know exactly where you are on track in analyzer, but if you do suspect a wall touch, you will know where to look. Right? ;) It's a shame we can't watch the lap while we do the analyzer. It would make it a whole lot easier IMO. :)

As I recall there's a little dot that shows you where you're at on the track (yes I'm talking about the analyzer) - I'd have to look again, but I'm sure I remember seeing something like that.

Uh oh, my friend was round yesterday and he took my gt4 cd out of my ps2 to put another game in and hes lost it! I dont have my time written down anywhere!! If I dont find it soon im screwed!

There is indeed a dot on the track map showing your exact location, plus a yellow sector showing the data currently displayed on the screen.

I set a new time, but I was .1 sec slower at T2 and .1 sec faster at the end. I still don't have the final sector figured out, and I'm still looking for .2-.3 to really feel good about this week. (although, I have started to see some 23.5 T1s!!) 👍

I can't wait to see everyone's final times, compared to their T2's. I have a feeling I'm at least .2-.4 slower, than others, in the final sector. :nervous:

Edit: .02 slower at T2, but .33x faster final time!!! I should start racing more on Sundays, cause I woke up this morning and I've been in a groove.

Next time that "friend" comes over, you need to greet him with a severe beating. :ouch:

State the following: "DO NOT EVER MOVE MY GT4 DISC EVER AGAIN. NOW LEAVE."

Leader Board Updated

Ran for 15 minutes yesterday, but only shaved off a few hundreths ... nothing worth getting all excited about. I *did* manage to handbrake it around the first hairpin, like hot instructed, and saw a sudden and huge lead over my ghost in no time at all ... but I couldn't repeat it :(

I got a phone call form Cass (Excelero) she sounds happy (and hot:D) lol!:D urged me to hurry up and replace my GT4 so i can get a good time down which i intend on doing tomorrow.

I've hit "the wall." For all you runners/athletes, you know what I mean. I think I may be done for this week. Thanks to Koly, I now have another series which is going to take up a lot of my time!!! 👍
