GT4 WRS Week 6: "Step Into the Ring!"

Holy crap, this is a workout session we're talking 'bout here! If this continues I'm gonna have to go shower every 5 laps! The A/C isn't working here damnit... :grumpy:

Pretty decent numbers so far: :)

T2: 1'06.084
T4: 2'12.722
T7: 3'51.657
T9: 4'46.798

PS: Why is PunkBastard Flex pointing at me at the top of my screen? :scared:
 
I am SO in this week! I've been running the Ring for about a week non-stop, but with the AMUSE S2k GT1. *Turns on PS2* See y'all in the results thread.
 
Okay, I've now got my T7 in a semi-competitive position, so all I've got to do now is get my T8/T9 down and I think we'll be in business. These will not be my final times posted for the night, but they mark an improvement:

T2: 1'06.135 (love to break into 1'05 at some point)
T4: 2'14.902
T7: 3'56.575
T9: 4'52.423 - but this is where I don't know the corners ... plenty to be made up and I'm confident of running sub 50's, maybe even tonight.

Okay, back to my cup of tea and a few more laps.
 
i was stoked when i hit a 1:10 at t2 and then shanked it on the right hand hairpin right before karosel.

I've gone as far as leaving my ghost 3 seconds behind but I just ****ed it all up by spunning out right before the second karussel!! Oh man am I pissed off right now... I feel like an ass. :banghead:

haha...I already knocked off 2 seconds but I'm not sure if it's dirty or not (haven't had the opportunity to check in photomode yet) But I know I can still beat that :)
 
Alright!

BIG improvement for me, as I found a better line through T2, and I had great exit speed out of a couple corners. My only mistakes are slow exit speed onto a straightaway, and slow speed during one of the sharp corners during that same straightaway, just before the hairpin (which is just before karusell 1...)

T2 - 1'06.083

I must have done 2 complete laps in as many hours ... and SIX BLOODY TRILLION RE-STARTS! ARGH! This has to be one of the most frustrating, annoying ... and down right THRILLING ... combos EVER.

I HATE YOU CFM!

And Yet, I love you at the same time. Curious.

Well, I finally got the times I wanted to for this evening ... now I can concentrate on refining these over the next few days.

T2: 1'05.833 :) Knew I could get it.
T4: 2'13.736
T7: 3'54.346
T9: 4'49.876

Hopefully a few of the D3 regulars will start posting times soon, so it'll give me something to chase.

And I've got to know what the heck SimRaceDriver is doing :crazy:

What's the best way to take the right hand corner just before T2? I find that I can lose .4 to .5 seconds here easily, and yet I'm never sure what I did differently than the times before.
 
this is hard work - im all thumbs it seems- they hurt lol 👍

t2 getting 1'05.xx pretty consistantly :dopey:

kolyana - you want to be on the gas (3rd for me) as early as possible should be in forth about half way to the bridge

I was really slow in the first 4 sectors but managed to pick it up in the last 7 or 8. Finished 3secs faster than my previous best, and most importantly, it was a perfectly clean lap. :)

New time:

T2: 1'06.261 :yuck: :yuck: (0.6XX secs slower than my best T2)
T4: 2'12.513
T7: 3'51.063

WOW! lol that's stellar - great job. I've only done a couple T2's better than that...

I come in as hard as possible into that corner, braking as late as I can, and then on the gas after I've braked enough to clear the apex.

ahhhhhhhhhhh, yes ... I have a tendency to ALWAYS brake before a corner and then drive through, but sometimes I've seen you guys braking INTO a corner and thus carrying some speed through it ... I'll need to try that out.

Same here. I know I can take a couple of corners flatout but I hesitated. :guilty:

I can smell the competition in here, and it smells good, just like my sweaty knuckles. :odd:

Finally could make some time for this week's WRS (work sucks). Did about 5 laps and at least one was clean with these splits :

T2 - 1:05.846
T4 - 2:13.578
T7 - 3:53.205
T9 - 4:49.912

Still learning the last 3rd of the 'nurb though (corners before the long straight), and hopefully I can improve a bit over this !

Lost that .8 in T9 - T10 but than gained .2 in the final sector.

Improved by .2, but it should of been 1 second!! :grumpy:

With my new times i improved again by .2 but still loosing .8 in last sector!!!.
 
Hi everyone,

Not sure who updates the leaderboard this week (Small_Fryz ?) but me, ballstothewall and villianpl are all 3 in Division 2, not Division 3. Thanks for the updates ! 👍
 
Thanks for that Kragbees, but villianpl is still div3 as far as i know.
 
Thanks Small_Fryz ! Not sure either, but on the WRS Leaderboard (flat-out's), it shows us 3 in Division 2. No problem mate !

Nice times b.t.w. , I'm using your times to compare and race against haha, but they are damn fast ...

Im aiming for a top 5 this week, So far ive been drafting alpine and CFM, but now ive pased them i have no one to draft as the top 3 are too far ahead :grumpy:. Now CFM, alpine and me need to work as a team and chase down the leading 3!!.

vilianpl is in Div.2, Villenueve81 is in Div.3. Similar names in different divisions. ;)

Nice splits there Dion, I'll see if I can close the gap when I get a chance.👍

use this to navigate the nurb. If you want a section discused just look at that and you can put names to corners. If someone is asking about x corner, check that and you will soon see wtf they are on about. Very helpful 👍
