The AI in the bspec vid looked great. They didn't actually go in a line, each car had its individual business going on. I believe this is a good sign of great AI.

That is the first thing I noticed. I sat up and got that old twinkle in my eye.

Looks very promising, I am sick of racing on-rails automatons.

The B-Spec mode to me seems like something the developers would have created to test the AI. So maybe the Ai have the same levels of 1-5 as the B-Spec mode. sometimes they race economically, and sometimes they push real hard.
At least that would be 5 times better than GT3 :)

yeah, i noticed in the second video, that the mazda was right up the arse of the Toyota for awhile until he hit the "pass" button, then he went right by him. i would assume that the Toyota was on somewhat of a lower setting.

my question is, how can you increase the ablilities of the AI driver? i mean, are all the AI drivers in the game (including your own) at the same level of abililty & it's just a matter of tire & aggressive driving stragedy?
seems like it should be based on your license scores.
you score say a bronze now, & then you go back & retake them to improve your license scores to improve your AI drivers skill. because, if it's just tire & fuel stragedy that doesn't really seem to eventful.
of course, the car setup will be an impacting factor, but i wouldn't say that all the drivers in F1 are equally skilled drivers & it's the cars that seperate them.
 
Am I being a bit silly here or has PD missed an option for B-Spec... There is 1 to 5, Pit and Overtake... but what about driving defensively and stopping someone from overtaking by hogging the racing lines?

I reckon it would be pretty good to blast past everyone on level 5 and overtake... then drop it to level 1 and drive defensive and back up the field so they've all got to watch their own backs as well as trying to overtake?!

Will b spec be available in multiplayer?? Could one person use b spec and the other a spec?? I think this would be pretty cool although I bet no one knows the answer yet unless I missed something.
 
I wish that you could give the commands over a headset... that'd be so much better than 'hitting' buttons to give commands...
 
i hope most of the cars at least get their own unique engine sound, throughout all RPM's... sure, its a small thing, but it would just be great :)

Wow, three of those vids I hadnt seen before. The 3 min copalation vid shows what looks like the car awarding serimony. Also shows the gt40 pit stop with work being done under the bonnett. That part is probably old due to the pics out last year, but its the first time i saw the vid.

I've already got my GT4P licenses on two memory cards, when it comes to GT4, I'll have two different games on the go, one for MY driving and one for B-Spec Mode.
 
I haven't seen the videos yet, but it sounds like three cool videos. I'll need further review.

OMG... These latest videos, especially the B-spec one clearly shows the power of the rendering engine this game is rocking on. Its simply amazing! Its damn photorealistic! The quality of the colours, the details in textures, the smoothness of the cars, the movements of the camera (replay/B-spec mode)... This is unlike ANYTHING i've seen before in a racing game. And to think that its on a PS2... wow. I actually can't say anything else... then perharps, i need a new TV set... For the first time, i think i'm totally amazed in front of my tv screen, looking at a videogame.

Thanks a whole bunch CobraGT... this is a great find! And amazing find...really.

I'll say it again... Oh - My - ****ING - GOD...
