And look what you just did.. Pot-> Kettle = black.đź’ˇ

Whatever dude. On the other hand, one thing I'm pleased with this update: HUD options. That's nice because I can now reduce the spam on the screen. Removing all the un necessary info without turining off completely the whole HUD. That's come in handy expecially online.

The only thing that I'm PO'ed about is the loss of the seasonals :(. I love the new one but so many of my cars were set up to run the old seasonals, and now they will sit collecting dust. :grumpy::grumpy: :(

The game is over a year old and is still getting semi-regular and sizeable patches, even free cars!! And what do people do? Complain!

I usually ignore these threads, as invariably they are inhabited by a population of gaming I have nothing in common with, but you trolling has paid off. I have taken the bait.

All the extra work PD have put into the game this year, most of it for free. All this done in face of a massive natural disaster and a tense nuclear situation. The whole company moved across the country. There was even a month long PSN outage due to the hack.

I have nothing but the up most respect for PD and Kaz. GT5 has brought me hundreds of hours of enjoyment and I have met many genuinely nice people via online racing. All for $60 and they keep adding more.

Happy Holidays.

+ 1,000,000 👍

the Screen shake/Chase cam is by far the worst thing to happen to this game...Apart from the PT Cruiser, that too was a bad choice.

As I expected, a bunch of people who claim to be sick of complaining come running into a thread where the title clearly expresses a negative opinion about something in the game and start criticizing those who have any disappointments. Ridiculous...

Anyway, I'm super disappointed about the seasonals. I was really loving this update until I came across this. Now it's going to be a long time before we get a good variety of races again. And the fact that people are telling us to not complain about something perfectly legitimate like this is astounding. People really think every single move PD makes is a good one. :indiff:

You can change rims on most the cars, and that's great. So how you could complain about that is beyond me. Yes I would love white rims on my NOMAD Diablo, but I can have them on almost every other car on which I want rims.

What ISN'T fantastic is the selection of rims. I sense a disturbing lack of American Racing Vintage and NASCAR rims for muscle cars, and most of the best looking rims aren't there. I certainly hope the selection is expanded a bit soon. Especially with those NASCAR style rims and the Vintages at least. Nothing in the selection works with muscle cars.

But other than that........what a fantastic update. And the PACE CAR LIGHTS WORK NOW!!!!! YAY!!!!!!

If I had one complaint it is that the old GT4 system of rims was not reimplemented. I remember putting M5 rims on my M3... looks so sweet. There was also a much greater selection. I used to love OZ rims. Other than that I am pretty satisfied at this point.

Aside from all of the talk about chase cams and coupons and the like, I have stumbled upon a serious problem with the new update.

Tire wear has been accelerated to more than twice the normal pace! This is very bad on the LMPs and other super cars. It doesn't matter what type of tread you use, they don't last. At Le Mans, soft treads have gone from lasting around 10 laps to a new max of 4, yes 4 laps. Hard is not much better, coming in at 6 laps.
This is gong to make endurance races virtually impossible!

If the game isn't good enough, do us a favor and quit playing, and there's no need for a disappointment thread after every update.

Most of the update is good but my only issue is the 'enhanced racing sounds'. I race in bonnet/roof cam and all I can hear is the wind noise, the tyre screeching and other cars engines. I did a race in a Viper and could barely hear my own engine at all, missed gear changes because of it.

In short, wind noise and the other cars engine sounds are far too loud.

What? Tyre wear needed decreasing for hard and medium tyres away from soft so they were all different, not increasing!

There is absolutely no consistency, as I'm used from Kaz

This sums up GT.

I don't understand why I can change and paint wheels, but I can't paint the stock wheels.

Right there with you, Simon. Talked about that to a friend just the other day. Looks like they drastically changed everything. Was over 9 hours into 24 Hours of Le Mans and had to drop out because winning would have been impossible. I don't know if it's a mistake by the team or what, but I don't see how they could explain doing something like this on purpose.

Exactly. In the real Le Mans they use hard tyres which can last them 12 - 15 laps, at best I was getting 8 laps on Racing Medium before, 4 laps is frankly pathetic. Imagine real endurance races with cars pitting every four laps, that's about 80 times during the 24 hour race!

Good bye Gran turismo, since you got this I can't play with you anymore
You're confusing the new tickets -which are pointless and take away from the available resources to deliver a decent DLC, or to work away the inconsistencies in the game- with the removal of race events -which indeed cause me not being able to play with a large part of my garage in GT life-.

Yup! Was watching opening laps of the 2011 race the other day when they said they could go 11-12 laps with fuel. I said "ha! Not with GT5 tires they couldn't."

Who knows what's going on with this. Tweeted Kaz about it earlier, hope more do the same.

The same complainers, complaining. I would love to see these threads closed.

BTW, gotta work and play tonight! Merry Xmas! :)

Why do you open them? People are free to moan whether you like it or not, you're free to ignore them though.

Stop driving so aggressively, those guys you watch are not professionals for no reason, they know how to perverse their tires.

You aren't going to get an extra 8 laps driving conservatively. Before this patch I managed 8 laps driving very conservatively, no wheelspin and no use of anything lower than 3rd gear at all. Now people are reporting only four laps on the hardest tyres. No amount of careful but still fast driving is going to get you an extra 8 laps of Le Mans.

Actually at Le mans tyres are triple stinted. That's a minimum of 32 laps and the lap times don't differ much on these laps either.

I think you misunderstood me there. It's 4 laps on soft, 6-7 laps on hard. But still, that's a negative difference of about 5 1/2 laps on soft, wowzers.

Oh, and in regards to whoever talked about not driving as aggressive, I did these lap count tests concerning the new tire wear issues in a Peugeot HDi FAP that was regulated to about 700 hp plus traction control turned on and all the way to 10. Not a problem with my aggression behind the wheel, I assure you

Oh ok but yeah still the wear is clearly far too much now. It sounds like they've fixed the problem of all tyres having the same wear which is good but in turn they've ruined it on the amount of wear for each.

I don't think so I can get about 8/9 with hard and I am driving medium pace.

And now, for some reason, all you think they'll not add more Seasonal Events like they were doing from the beginning?

Before this new update I could strangle about 10 laps out of soft tires. So, old version has 10 laps on soft, new version has 8-9 on HARD. Not exactly a positive change there.
