gt5 all my 1300 cars have gone

help !! after starting my gt5 game i went to my garage which said i had no cars in it where there should have been about 1300, my premium and standard and favourite garages said zero cars but when i went into my dealership all the cars i had were ticked and the cars i had in ucd were also ticked.all my item list is empty too a message came up saying i had to many things in my items and had to delete some but all my items have gone paint suits parts helmets etc
 
1300 cars? ... and you're ashamed to post it on your real account here- :) hmm wondering who this is.
 
Hmm...I sure hope you backed up to a flash drive, but I am guessing you probably wouldn't be posting here if you had. My number one rule when I had read about GT5 before I bought it was to BACKUP MY SAVE TO A FLASH DRIVE after hearing about all the save nightmares this game was causing people. Sorry to hear about this in any case though...still is pretty terrible.

On a side note, I had something similar happen when I looked at my garage one time a few weeks ago. I went to my Premium section all was well, but going to my standard section revealed 0 cars! I felt a slight drop in my stomach and was freaking to say the least since I had 800+ cars in there.:nervous: I rebooted the game and went back to the standards (praying lol) and to my amazement, they had magically came back. Needless to say, I don't know what the hell happened.:dunce:

i normally do back it up to flashdrive but i unintensionally overwrote it from my other account, i even bought a car but that didnt show up in my garage either

Is this a known issue with "too many things in the items" and needing to delete some items? I backup my game regularly but I have never heard of such a warning message as is mentioned in the OP.

No worries, the message pops up only if you've reached the item limit of 7000 items. Means, when you're going to receive the daily login bonus (museum cards & paints), you won't receive them if you don't delete some. It's just a notice. :sly:

The OP has a corrupted game save or maybe a corrupted game installation, possible reasons: failed patch installation, quitting the game while storing, faulty harddrive, ... :dunce:


@OP: if the game doesn't say something like "game save corrupted" when you start up the game, then it might be most likely a corrupted game installation. You can try to re-install the game. Before doing this backup your game save (from your other accounts as well! Save them on your PC). After all updates are downloaded & installed, recover your game saves from your USB stick.

Note: You'll loose all pictures, replays & car thumbnails. Export the pictures & replays before to your XMB. The car thumbnails you can recover later with the "all at once" option, but it'll take some time (some hours if you have 1000+ cars!).


Backup your gamesave to an USB stick guys, BACHUP IT! 👍

If you have backed up the save on a flash drive then you should be fine or trade some suits away or the data is corrupted
