GT5 and OCD (not the Online Car Dealership)

Collecting all the cars currently. For cars from the UCD, I always make an oil-change first and then a chassis and engine renewal although that should take care of the oil change as well.

Then, I don't drive them. I only drive cars that I bought especially, because I needed them to progress in A- or B-spec. These are in the favourites-folder. The rest is "unmarked".

My reasoning is, that I want to get as little mileage on them (either 0km or after refurbishment) as possible.

Once I have them all, I will start testing all of them 1 by 1 on the same tracks with the same tyres in PP ascending order. Because they haven't been used before, they will be able to compete on an almost level playing field. Once I have tested them all (around 2017), I will be free and able to use them all as I wish.

I don't think manual saves are OCD at all, since many games especially games we've all grown up with required that manual save. GT4's autosave wasn't perfect either. Prolly just habbit.

All of my cars need to be tuned to horsepower ratings that are divisible by 5, and weight numbers that are divisible by 5. If I couldn't get the car modified in a way that met those specifications (which was a real problem in GT3, but strangely not in GT2 or GT4) I generally wouldn't drive it. I'm still the same way, but the power limiter and ballast makes it so it isn't really a problem like it was back in the day.

This is what I used to do as well... I don't know why, but a lot of my favorite cars IRL have horsepower ratings divisible by 5 so I guess I take it from that. The Viper had 450/500, the Corvette had 350/405, the Camaro SS had 325... on and on. But cars these days have odd HP ratings now and I've stopped caring about it. I'm more focused on not making such over powered cars.

Another thing I will not do is rip out the guts of a luxury sedan/coupe. I just can't do it. Defeats the purpose of the car. Interesting thread on this: Save the Whales! Seems I'm definitely not the only one.

One other thing that comes to mind is that I can't have so many black/white/silver cars in a row in my garage. Usually they're sorted by Aquired Date (default I think) and most of the time the color of my next car is based on what its above in the garage. lol. I just don't want my garage to be full of boring black cars, even tho I like black on most cars the monotomy of it gets annoying - its nice and refreshin to have different style cars in different colors.

I´ve got the game in December and haven't done any A-spec races, just 6 licences (to cylce the UCD) and the first top gear test track (to gain access to track). However I have completed B-spec and Seasonals (Because in the past they used to expire).
And do you know why? Because I'm waiting for the T500RS Shifter to buy the whole pack and then start racing.

Manual save before quit mandatory.

I want to collect everything: Museum cards, Horns, Paints, Tickets...

and Cars: first I will have one of each, then i will start looking for those that have color variants, then i will start again for 0/0, the 0/0 that have color variants and then 0/0 all original colors.
I still need to create some extra account for the 0/0 because GT5 doesn't let us organize our cars in folders or similar systems. I've found the actual system very confusing.

Another thing is that i don't use exploits, duping or what so ever. It his my gold rule.

Personaly i want to gold everything to.

And with this GT5 will take a lot of years to complete.

Oh my...

I know I'm not alone, post your oppinion(s).

Also, notice my posts - so neat and grammatically correct, too neat, too correct.

Not quite OCD enough?

I must admit, Im quite OCD in GT too. I always manual save, and like some others if I have a big crash I dont like to just carry on the race. Some of the things you guys do sounds strange though!

When I first get a car I change the oil. I'll always do so after a race as well. Its smart to do that and recommend for everyone to do it because if you use a car in a long race, you don't have to worry about forgetting to change the oil. I had that happen a few times to me and had to quit because the car lost so much hp halfway through the race and It was hard to keep up at all. lol

If u know correctly. That doesn't happen ingame. Read the Q&A sub-forums, they've got the truth on there.

Sometimes I'll:
-race with the Veyron repeatedly in the European Championship in the Extreme Series at random.
-race with a NASCAR stock car in the NASCAR Series...in the Extreme Series...at random.
-When credits are in the millions, I don't buy a car.
-When a new car is bought, I'll give it an oil change and a car wash, even though it's new.
-When I don't know what to do next, I push the D-pad buttons repeatedly and randomly click on things with the X button.

All I do is save the game before I leave, even when I know in my head the game already auto saved for me. It really must really blow to have OCD.

Manual game save after every session...When I first start the game I go straight to the new car dealership to see if there are any cars I dont already own. I've got them all so I know it's a waste of time, but I do it anyway. I dont currently own any "standard" cars except the FGT. I tend to paint my cars in light colors so as not to hide detail in photos or replays.

Every car I buy goes straight to the parts store for new RS tires. I'll drive it for a bit before I upgrade hp and suspension.

And for some strange reason I come here several times a day to check to see if PD has decided to fix all the broken stuff in the game.

Ok I'm not bad as some of the stuff I've read on here but I do check my UCD EVERYTIME I get to the Gt homepage. Also as some of you mentioned I go to my profile and look at the All gold license's I've gotten just to make myself feel good. I want to gold everything but since I play with the DS3 that X1 challenge is impossible and since it's the only thing thats keeping me for getting a platnium and getting all golds. And it's pissing me the **** off!! god ******!! :grumpy:

Corrected the typo, thanks for noticing. 👍

You was just testing us, right? :sly:

I check the UCD every chance I get too. Any car that interests me in the slightest I buy. For some reason I havent bought many from the new dealership yet

You haven't even got one premium car in your collection yet?! Man that's a alot of effort put in that urge. You have a bigger addiction to the used and online dealerships than I do.👍

Ive bought one or two, but not many! I think Ive bought the 458 and the RE Amemiya RX-7 from the new dealership. Im gonna start going through and buying up some cars. I did think about buying the MP4-12C, but you win that from a championship so I didnt. Ive also got the Stealth cars, so I do have some Premiums, but more Standards I think! :ouch:

When I have odd paint chips: for example, 4 gold chromes in one group and a single gold chrome by itself I have to use the odd one out right away. The errors in the paint menu drive me insane.

I also manual save sometimes 2-3 times before quitting. I know one time is sufficient. What can I say? :sly:

Unfortunately I've sometimes gotten angry when others ask me to do something when I've played GT for more then an hour resulting in getting my PS3 taken away sometimes :(

I keep moving the cursor across the 30 buttons on the GT-Life screen. Without going over the same icon twice, lol.. :(

If I watch a car test of a car that exist in GT5 or watch a race in track that exist in GT5 I automatically run the car or the track in my GT5 mind... Then I try it in GT5... (Monaco on a Formula car, will do it later today...)

I now got the urge of fully-tuning almost all JDM cars because of Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune nostalgia.
