CIAO

it is indeed zastava... been once in croatia...

Yugo was always Zastava's product, and it was never in Croatia - it is factory located in today Serbia, in city of Kragujevac. Before Yugoslavia broke down, it was only genuine car manufactorer in former Yugoslavia. In other factory called TAS located in Sarajevo - capital of today Bosnia and Herzegovina - was locate production of WV Golf cars for eastern European market (Golf I and Golf II) at that time (late 70's and 80's).

Before Yugo Zastava produced car called Zastava 750 under licence of Fiat, and it was famous in Yugoslavia and known as "Ficho". Many of those cars was made by afficionados as a race-breeded turbo "mini-beasts" with resemblance to famous F500 Abarth models. It was "people's car" in Yugoslavia after WW2.

800px-ZastavaPICT3088.JPG

After Z750 Zastava begun with amnufactoring a limousine called Zastava 101, or Z101. It was famous and known as "Stoyadin" and it was extremely popular in whole Yugoslavia in 70's. There were official races, tuning and such, together with official championship across the country. Z101 was modified for both rally and circuit racing. There was even a coupe model called "Zastava 101 Mediteran" and it was wery popular among younger drivers. Here is one nice paper-ad from that time:

zastava101.jpg

Text on ad says:

"You can feel the power - Zastava 101 Super" (have no idea what "Super" standed for..)
"Modern, efficient, powerful and confortable vehicle with 5 doors"
"1116 ccm, 64 KS, 9.2 compression, top speed 146 km/h"

:). Nice legs though :).

Yugo came later, in '80-s - if I remeber well, it was made in few models, even as a hatchback very similar to Zastava. There were models called Koral, Ciao and such. There was even "high-perffoormance" model Yugo GVX - basicaly laughter, but it was a first ever genuine "let's say street racer" produced by Zastava. This poor american owner (pictured below) has a GVX with plates that would make people in Yugoslavia cry of laughter :).

scott3.JPG

After "basic" Yugo and that hilarious story of "success in USA" came Yugo Florida, pretty expensive family limousine (in line with EU cars of that time) with idea to became sales-hit in Europe and USA. However, since Yugoslav market opened to western markets in late 80's, not much models was sold on domestic market - people here started to buy european cars at larger scale, not caring much about Yugo. Shortly after came war and Yugo become history.

img.php

Above is Florida :).

In NATO bombings of Serbia (1999.) Zastava factory was also destroyed partialy, but they managed to repair it and start thinking about future. New Yugo appeared soon, now under name "Tempo" and I really have an idea are they even making it at this point :D.

Okay, some (Most) of the GT-Rs I've selected were already in GT4, but, seeing as how there couldn't possibly be a production two-door GT-R that wasn't in the game, I think my list is a bit more reasonable than the one GT compiled. Still, there's quite a few Skylines, but only a maximum of three of each model. Same with Silvias.

I'm sorry to post this here, but there is no such thing as a Gallardo V8. That prototype is pure speculation. Nothing more.

^ I'm aware of that, but that may be a possibility. But if theres no release by September (on where theres a lot of model releases that month), I will delete it no sooner than November. (:

No, it's definately not a possibility. Audi have said they will add a V10 to the R8, but want Lamborghini to give the Gallardo one more power increase. Adding a V8 completely contradicts VAG's plans and ruins the purpose of a V10 R8.

The car has no official name or 100% proof of its engine. Until then, some journalists claim it sounds like a V8 (which isn't hard to do on a Gallardo), while VAG supports the idea of keeping the R8 sales away from the Gallardo.

^ Ok, I'll delete it, coming from a Lambo enthusiast, I'll comply. :)

sorry bout that!

what was your veiw point on ......"I always have a question you see....the commodores model cycle usually streches a couple of years with no facelifts so I ammended the cars to represtent the first year of production, is this ok????"......

I just want to mention that I find it crazy to see so many cars on the first list completely defeat the idea of not including 30 skylines.

Now, personally, I didn't have a problem with the number of Skylines, Evos, RX-7s, and Civics.
However, that is one of the primary complaints about GT4. :ouch:
With that in mind, I think it would be much better to focus a wish list on diversity of brand and model than diversity of an individual model.

Of course, with that said, I'd like to see everything from GT4 plus any new brands and models, plus an update to all the existing models that have since taken new forms (such as the C6 corvette, the new RS4, the new RUFs, and of course, some of the older cars that were left out... like the original Cooper and the V8 powered M5). 👍

Yup, I agree 👍 All those skylines are annoying IMO.

Well, I DO think we NOW have a few too many REAR-DRIVE Skylines. We're also missing most of the Fairlady Zs. Look for a Skyline cleanup and a Fairlady list by next post.

-> I do understand the immense amount of Skylines, but what if PD featured every Mustang in history. It will probably end up the same thing (I think we have at least 60 Mustangs on our list, I think).

-> List updated, by the way. :dunce:

I have thought of one that has never been in GT and will hopefully be included in GT5! 💡

Relient
1988 Relient Robin with no doors or windows with a ROLLS-ROYCE jet engine sticking out the back and the steering wheel replaced with a joy-stick from a Messichmit 109!

P.S: How about one of those drivable Lawn mowers!

💡 Shouldn't it be a REAL car?

There is such thing as a 1988 Releint Robin. It's one of those 3 whellers with 2 wheels on the back, and one on the front, in the middle. However, there is no such thing as a 1988 Relient Robin with no doors or windows with a ROLLS-ROYCE jet engine sticking out the back and the steering wheel replaced with a joy-stick from a Messichmit 109!
