I spend a lot of time (relatively speaking) driving the ring using the in car camera with races often held at night in RFactor and GT Legends and preserving your car simply requires an element of patience, the ability to stay behind the car infront until your at a safe part of the track. Also I dissagree, the ring is not impossible to master to the same degree one would master any other track. It's longer so it will take longer, yes, but if you want to learn it, you can. You don't need to drive the track perfectly, you just need to not go over the cars limits, If your unsure about a corner, go slower than you think you should as opposed to faster. You'll still win races. I am 100% for damage being included in the next GT game, it certainly doesn't harm other sims.

I thought I can do it under 5 minutes so I was very dissapointed, I tried it with every good car in the garage but 5:24 with the 787B was the fastest time possible with my DFP.
I really dont know if thats good or bad because I dont know the records.
But I still have to try the Nissan R92CP.💡
The fastest time with my FGT was 5:35 with a spin, the FGT around the Nürburgring is a pure nightmare, touching a inch of grass is the end of a perfect lap :

Imagine doing a 24 hour race and on the last lap, getting spun out and crashing. Ill end up breaking soooo many controlers that Ill go broke in no time
But thats reality! 💡 Le Mans racers dont get a 2nd chance too, if they crash in the last map - its over. Be happy that you cant die, imagine this! You dont even loose the race you just have to restart the entire GT because you died! haha that would be fun, or not!

During the demo at the European Motor Show Brussels, the 8 cars Tokyo demo, I noticed there was a very simple damage model present.
Sadly did not get pictures of it.
The basic is any impact did give gray broken lines on the cars, the one you are driving and the AI cars. I did see the lines even on the roof of a 458 Italia at a certain time.
However in this demo, no bent parts or broken windows, etc...
I did hold the opinion that the driving was still in GT5 and this is a more important feature then spectacular jumping, rolling, damage, skidmarks, etc...

kamikaze drivers ?Thats really crazy stuff... but i think too many debris take a LOOOT of power processing... to not mention the memory usage..they never disappears (debris ) from the track...
anyway, looks a looot of fun! =)
For cars I think it would be fine if the only detachable debris was all 4 tires, front bumper rear bumper (or wings) and the engine cover (hood). The rest can just crumple. Thats just 7 pieces per car, (or less considering detachable tires aren't necessary) and considering most incidents involve just one or two cars I think GT5 should be able to handle it.
We've already seen tire barrier tires, cones etc bouncing everywhere in GT5, would be a shame if the same is not possible with parts from the cars.
To get around memory usage they can just have the debri dissappear after 15, 30 or so seconds or after safety vehicles clean it up during a caution period.

speaking in detachable debris... its really annoys me when you crash a car and the two front wheels get detached , like they was glued ... soo unrealistic , kind reminds me toy cars... In some serious accident, the wheels sometimes get detached but most of time they got crushed , bent or just stuck in the car ( not spinning at all ) .. but about the other parts, you´re right.

Only it wasn't a crash that caused the wheels to come off, it looked more like a failure of the mounts or wheel nuts. Short of the nuts coming off or the mounting coming off with the wheel you would need parts to bend, buckle and break for a wheel to come off. Wheels do come off in crashes though, I've seen plenty and in higher speed crashes and rolls they nearly always come off if they bear a high ammount of the force at any time. But he's also right in that they often fold under the car, I think this is usually when the suspension has collapsed.
