GT5 delayed

Anyways, they've been stringing us along without a release date now. They KNOW we're waiting for one, besides, of course, the game. They've been trying to create an aura of greatness and secrecy on some bits of that game, and now it's getting slowly chiseled away by the leaks. That, for me, is good retribution to them for not giving us the slightest clue when the game's coming out.

Having no interest in COD: BO I haven't seen any mention of it, short of these parts.

So I learned tonight that the release date is tomorrow. How did I find out? An XBox ad on TV. With Jimmy Kimmel in it, no less.

And so will the rest of the gen pop find out that GT5 is coming out the next day...by TV ad.

Let's hope it's a great one. The "We Love Cars" doesn't do anything for me.

I'm on a high horse because I do not agree with everybodies happiness about theft? Please. I speak my mind, as I said I am happy to see the latest news just not the way we learned of it. I can see why everybody is happy with new's, I cannot see why alot of us "GT5 fan's" think it's great that PD/Sony have gotten a kick in the gut by a thief.

This is less about theft, and more about a multinational corporation that is so disorganized that French retail stores and Czech game store employees can release all the details first.

Sony had three weeks to get their act together, after initially causing this chaos by yanking the release date. No one here is crying any tears for them.

VGReleases has a post 8 hours ago stating that a confirmed date is 11/27 for US and 11/26 for Europe and 11/30 for UK. Below is the VGRelease site for what it is worth.

I doubt that. It'll be on a Tuesday most likely. Otherwise that'll s*ck fighting black friday crowds for the game. ( I pre-ordered already, but unsure when it'll arrive, so I'll just buy one at the store and return the shipped copy when it arrives)
 
Friend that works at Costco in purchasing said they got a company release date for 11/22 stock 11/23 sale. He cant say if they already have stock or not.

He's gay so he may enjoy that.

I doubt he has any interaction with the physical copies unless he walks into a store and buys one as a customer unfortunately. It's only two weeks if true anyways.

I think that it is quite sad that people are cheering (yay we stuck it to PD/Sony) and yet don't have a copy themselves to cheer about. You are acting like these people are 🤬 Robin Hood. They are just common thieves, I've never seen any group of people so happy about a theft... ever. I like that I got some news but not about the way it was obtained.

Agreed.

The man has given us a renewed spirit and hope, as well as new information that was being held from us for weeks, if we were ever going to get it.

Honestly, he IS a modern Robin Hood in this case.
 
Unfortunately, I'm inclined to agree. We have yet to hear anything from Sony about a release date. We know the game is done... but that doesn't mean that it will be on shelves in two weeks. It would be great, but it just doesn't mean that.

As for these guys stealing copies; look... theft is theft. What they did is wrong. Why should they get a game we have all been waiting/paying for for years for free before we even know if we are going to get it.

I actually have not watched any vids because I want it all to be a surprise, but I'm not taking a shot at anyone that watched the vids extensively.

The only good thing I seem about this theft is it MIGHT, I repeat MIGHT force Sony PR into saying SOMETHING, but really, they could (and probably would) delay it another year if they felt this leak would effect sales.
 
All I can say is GT5 will come sooner rather than later. ;) And dont bother looking at any other dates other than the one given by Sony at some point. Those other dates dont mean squat. The only one that counts is the one from Sony.

I mean really, COME ON SONY!

Maybe you do have some insider information and actually know what you're talking about but I'm sick of hearing it from everyone but the one source that actually has credibility. It's like being told from everyone at work but your boss that they decided to give out a big Christmas bonus this year. "Trust me, it's a lot, but until you hear it from the boss don't hold your breath, but trust me, you will get it and it is a lot of money..." I don't think I got teased this much when my voice started changing early in gradeschool...

Sadly Sony did the latest numbskull move in a long series of them...they demanded Jordan take the videos down. While still remaining silent about the release date, or any other info for that matter.

Product release fumble of the year.

Not saying it to piss you off man... Chill... I know everyone is bouncing up and down to get that game in their hands but it will be here soon. Thats all I can say at this point and dont pay attention to game shop/website dates... Just wait for the Sony one. Official Sony Launch party here in Europe has been rescheduled with a confirmed date, which is a good indicator.

Oh I know. My post was in jest. I apologize if it didn't seem so. Do you actually know anything about the release date or are you just putting two and two together like the rest of us?

If I had to guess I would have guessed Nov. 23rd for the US release but with the Madrid launch party scheduled for the 24th that thought gets pushed aside. I've never heard of a launch party before the release.

Then again it may turn out that way with a European release days later after the launch party. Most rumors at this time point to a Nov. 23rd or 27th release date. Both of which don't make sense for one reason or another. Either because it's before the launch party or because it's a Saturday. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them were accurate if they want the game on the shelves for black Friday weekend.

Of course all the rumors and speculation could be wrong and it could be Nov. 30th or even early Dec. but I like to waste my time debating actual rumors and speculation, not just wild arse guesses. Not that either really holds any water in the end but at this point I'm out of other stuff to talk about. :dunce: I know the only date that counts is "from Sony" but until they give me anything to talk about I'm stuck with what I've got which is a few leaked videos and some placeholder dates from companies that probably know as much as we do.
