Since the copy protection on gt5 game saves has been lifted people been telling me you can download game saves now. however I can’t find a single game save can somebody help me out here.

you can to some certain extent you just create a sub account on your ps3 and upload it there. then after that you can trade cars between that account and main account at least thats what i heard

You heard wrong. The saves are locked to a PSN so only that user can use it

Yes, you can gift cars from one account to another.
No, you can not copy your game save and use it under any other account.

Actually you can copy the file to another account but when you start the game under the new account the game rewrites the game save because the file is for another player.

Merry Christmas :D

As an experiment I copied my save onto another account and the game ignored it and created a new save. There is no point in downloading someone else's save as your GT5 game will ignore it and create a new save so you have to start from scratch. I suppose you could try to create the correct Account for the save, but you would need to know the Owners Email and Password (so NOT an option really). Not sure about doing things offline but I doubt there is a way.

Also you can only back up one save from your PS3 (regardless of the number of accounts) to one external device. Copy a save to an external device from Account 1, go to Account 2 and the Account 1 save will be overwritten.

Doesn't need a PSN either as a new account without one will say the save is from another user.

Wouldn't surprise me if someone finds a way to hack/edit them soon though.

Guys, I have a question regarding this game save update stuff. Last Saturday, before the big update, my PS3 died on me. Is there any way I can keep my save if I buy a new PS3? As I understood it before, there wasnt. But if I buy a new PS3, can I put my old HDD in the new one and use my save? Or any other solution? Cheers

Provided you are using the same account on the new PS3 there ought not to be a problem using your existing save.

No downloading save....no gameshark.... (: So much for having gold in everything especially those pesky licenses....everyone isn't a racecar pro lol No hybriding either! sigh

Why do you need someones save? Why not just play the game?

WHATTTTTTT?!??!?!?! Play the game??

What is the fun in playing the game!?!?! When I buy the game I want all the events already done for me with all gold, all cars unlocked and all mod'd to the max. All I wanted to see when I open the box and pop the disk in, is a message on that screen that said "you win the game", so I can put the disk back in the box and put it on the shelf knowing I've achieved my goal of getting the game and move on to the next. That is after I've made a thread asking people if they 100% the game, but really is to tell everyone I've already done it and put my "achievement" in my signature on forums to proclaim my superiority. 👍

The only way you can use that save is to get the machine fixed and copy it.

Transferring hard drives doesn't work.

Wish I had a friend close by that plays GT5 really good...I'd just about pay them to do me a save with my account just to get gold in the licenses and special events....lol

Why do you need someones save? Why not just play the game?

It is interesting there is so much angst over this question for some forum users. Many people play GT5 differently from the way PD intended. Examples include wanting to play mostly online with real human opponents or focusing more on time trials and drifting than the single player GTlife mode.

For gamers who prefer those approaches, they are potentially looking at never being able to access all the cars they would like to use in the game. Even if you enjoy the single player career mode you still need to spend a ton of time playing it to be able to buy the cars you would like to be able to use online or in the arcade mode. Some people do not have a lot of free time for entertainment so the straightforward approach to acquiring cars means never really getting to buy the F1 cars or the Red Bull prototype etc--or at least not for a long time. I can't own an F1 car in real life (short of a massive lottery win)--why is it such a grind to get to own one in the game?

I have read a few comments that 'everyone has time it is just how they choose to use it' etc. When you get older and have more responsibilities you will see that the game design PD continues to use in GT games is not adult friendly at all. In fact, it's more like Pokemon which is a title few adults play. For every person that cries 'cheaters are ruining this game' there is someone who chuckles about the way some people treat what is, in the end, just a piece of software meant to entertain.

It seems like PD has partially recognized this gap between their design and the approach some of their customers would like to use as seen by the recent update and access to events with higher payouts. I see this as a hopeful sign for the future although I kind of doubt PD will ever really change the GT formula too much. There are competitors that allow you to use all cars immediately--at least in some game modes. I think this is a good approach to take when you see it from a customer point of view. Typical game consumers are getting older on average and many need more flexibility within game design than kids do.

I was hoping to play online under my GTP account last night, so copied my save accross, but as stated above, it didn't work. So tonight I'll gift myself a starter car and start playing again :) Because I need more GT5 friends as all mine are now playing vietnam on bad company. :(

not to prove all of you wrong. but you can take a save game from any ps3 system, and transfer it to another. all you have to do is get one of the dozens of programs around to digitally rehash and resign the savegame file using your pc, with the ps3 account connected to your system. people have been doing this on xbox and ps3 for years now. im pretty shocked youre all so ignorant of it. however. dont do it. its the cheap way out.

For the ignorant (including me), please enlighten us all with your game save then.

Many want to be able to have an uber save for other reasons than to say "Look what I did" and the save would be a great addition to the GT community.

Post it here and I will see that it works, unless I need to buy said program.

You could also list those programs for us who are so ignorant as this is the first time I have ever heard of such a program, but than again I am ignorant towards such things.
I don't know where to begin looking.

Thanks for enlightening me on this matter.

He's right though, I've done it in the past to convert JP saves to EU saves, I'm guessing the console ID would be a similar affair.

anything in here that can be edited?

You need to resign the save, any edit would corrupt the file, plus its the other files I think.

For xbox 360 its the same idea but resigning is easy and there's many programs to do it. There's nothing out there for PS3 to resign as far as I know. You can edit older save files etc but no resigning of the latest type.

Unless KingBrianThe1st can link to a program to resign PS3 saves, I'm pretty sure that there isn't one yet. Hack community would be really interested. People are working on it is what I'm told. If there was one, there'd be saves and a program up by now.

current credits? what happens if you change the value, would it work? seems like all you need is to get a copy of your save file on a mac or pc and use a hexeditor, no?

I found that you can duplicate all the cars that you can gift from one game save using the save game copy thing !!!
I did it with my sons game save and now we both have the same cars !!!

Why do you need someones save? Why not just play the game?

Gee, what a great idea............why didn't i think of that? :banghead:

How about this, everyone play the game the way that you want to.

If you want to sit in front of your GT5 game and play it for hours at a time every day, go for it.

I myself, don't have the spare time to do so.

As you get older and you get more responsibilities and priorities, such as a family, you will understand that you just don't get the time anymore.

I believe there should be a way you can unlock everything the game has to offer straight away, if you want to unlock everything in the game by playing it, you should be able to do that as well!

In real life, it would be like buying a V8 car and only having 4 cylinders working until you fulfill certain objectives, which unlock the rest of the cylinders.

If you pay for the game, you should be able to access ALL of the game.

If there was an unlock code like codemasters has, i would gladly pay for it.

I personally couldn't care less about bragging about what cars i have, and what cars i don't have............its a game, not real life!

Why does everybody use this 🤬 argument about not having time and they should let you unlock everything from that start...

Let me ask you... since when did any game allow this? let alone the GT series... the god damn point of the GAME is to PLAY it. If you got a problem with this then maybe you shouldn't be playing video games.

You played GT before, you knew the deal a decade ago. GT will never allow an "unlock code" that will give you all the cars. So you better get cracking!

Man PD really need to have online only saves for anybody doing anything in the online portion of the game. I hate all this duplicating cars, money, accounts, bday gltich free cars, etc. I know how to do them all but dont.

If its for offline, then yea I think you should be able to do whatever you want, but when competing online you should be forced to use an uploaded save at the PD servers, that way no tampering. I mean its only 500kb in size anyway. One uploaded online pic is more than that! Why havent they done this yet!
