GT5 getting boring?

A-spec is boring because it isn't enough of a challenge like Arcade can be-- *AND you can finish 95% of it in 30 days.

Arcade is boring because you don't accomplish anything.

YUP. GT5 needs more A-SPEC. I'd buy some A-SPEC DLC. Wait, that would be too easy and make too much sense for PD to do it.

I still play GT5 w/ my G25 and gated shifter w/ clutch which is fun, but not as much as I'd like to.

That above statement brings me to my next problem; the selection of lobbies online is about the same. Everywhere I roam, you've got Free Run on the TGTT; you've got drag on Indy; you've got coppers on La Sarthe, and you've got drifting on Tsukuba. If people were to actually stimulate their brains with something that has a little more, um, variety in it, I might just have a second glance.

So what are you trying to say, that we all use the same cars? Because that is completely incorrect...

i kindv agree. i would LOVE to see PD put in a few tracks like Bathurst, Sandown and Phillip island, aswell as a host of aussie cars old and new. thatd keep things interesting =]

PD needs creativity. They really haven't changed up the formula in the entire span of Gran Turismo.

How creative can you get with a racing game without going overboard?

T10 brought a lot to the table with Forza 1. SMS brought some things with Shift. How creative can you get? That's a rather difficult question to answer.

I started an online slick track for fun race. It was great, go kart space 1 limit tires to comort soft, and RWD vehicles and PP set to either 550 or 650

I still like lapping arson the Ring but I only do a few laps before I switch games. Hopefully getting a DFGT will breath new life into GT5 for me.

I've always wanted to see a Polyphony take on the street racing genre, and I think realism is something that street racing games have always needed but no company or developer ever wants to put that much time and detail into it because an arcade game is just so much easier to wrap up and put out. I think for PD it would be wildly successful and also another avenue for revenue.

I've always liked NFS: Underground but its the actual gameplay that pushed me away from it. Gameplay is important and at the end of the day, realism is what a gearhead really wants out of a car game. PD has the physics, they have the models, and so far they have had the best idea of how to approach a car game with realism.

Boredom... not yet.
But a championship creator would be a welcome addition to GT5.
With choice of tracks en AI level. And of course money prices.
So we can race the DLC-1 TC cars in a proper championship.

It seems that PD has transitioned from the PS2 to PS3 without fully utilizing it's technology. GT5 was built as if it was for the PS2. For example, PD didn't take advantage of the multiplayer very well. They could have made a proper trading marketplace, among many other features. If GT4 had online, I'm going to imagine that it's going to be more or less the same as GT5.

Just out of curiosity, I'm finding GT a little boring every time I play it. Don't get me wrong it's a ****en epic game.. but curcuit racing over and over is like too.. confined.. Anyone else getting this a little too?

I'd LOVE to just roam the streets like a normal person in a sort of GTA/NFS way.. without the stupidity and 'arcadeness' of those games (just using these as example.. I think NFS underground was like that too?).. Just have a 'track' or two with a few streets.. houses.. normal cars around going about with their own lives etc etc.. Simulator meets normalness if possible?

Any tips on what else is fun to do in GT5 besides throwing my X2011 of a hill? :yuck:

I think I understand what you're getting at. A free-roaming sort of feature has been discussed before, and it would certainly add another dimension to the game. I agree with you in that PD (in all its dignity) wouldn't touch GTA's arcade-y style with a thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole. Whenever I get REALLY bored, I join a dirty, full body contact shuffle room. I think it's more fun than anyone anticipated. If you're not the type for that though, I would recommend racing in a room with slower cars, in the 300-450 PP range. Shuffle rooms are also fun if you want to skip all the tinkering in settings and go straight to some fair, fun racing. 👍

Agreed, they did 3d and then left it (basically, not exactly)

I have tons of games and most of them on PC (rFactor, GTR2, GTR Evo/Race07 and expansions, Ferrari Virtual Academy, Dirt 2 and 3, F1 2011...and many more also on my PS3) and time to time i change or i play maybe in one thing that one game has that GT5 has not as the Honda HSV 010 on GTR2 for example. And bought C.A.R.S just to see if is going to kill GT5 or Forza 4 graphics...and i can tell that NO! but still looks incredible but PD made a great job and the level of detail and design is amazing and the physics are outstanding. C.A.R.S is just a NFS Shift but very well done in terms of graphics...but physics are better than Shift but based on the same, and it feels like it when you play for more than an hour. (but for 10 bucks oh well)

I always play when seasonal´s appear (here on GTPlanet) and of course with the new updates and the new DLC´s (i have all). I earn money to buy more cars and still have to complete the last 2 endurance races and the same with my bobs pilots.
Most of the time i play on arcade or try to set personal records too with each favourite car just to compare. Sometimes with the photo editor, etc.

When i am not playing GT5 i play BF3. But those are my 2 personal favourite games. And i have tons on PS3 and PC. GT5 has a lot of content but was easier to complete than GT4 in my opinion that´s why maybe for some people is boring. But also you can play on-line but in GT4...

What do you expect? the game has been out for a long time and would struggle anyway due to the lack of substance.
