Agreed. The physics are great along with the graphics. Everything else puzzles me. Mainly the tracks. I can't believe the amount compared to GT4. To the original post. I assume this is the first in the series you have played. This game is far from perfect in my book. In fact I am very disappointed for a product that has been in development for 5-6 years.

I have some friends who are insiders in the video game industry as developers and producers. The GT franchise is absolutely the gold standard when it comes to console video games from an insider's perspective. 2nd place is not even in the same universe in their opinion. Every game has flaws and its easy to criticize, however, the people who know what it takes to execute a project of this magnitude acknowledge that this franchise is the one that all others strive to be.

I think people here who criticize should chill out and appreciate what they have. If they don't like it, move on to something else you like better. I doubt there is anything out there that is better. I tried Forza and I was not impressed. I've tried NFS and even the vaunted GP Legends and I felt they were all inferior compared to the version of GT current at the time.

I bought my PS3 exclusively for GT. I have a few other "popular" games for it including driving sims but they all get played and then put on the shelf. I have the Motorstorm series which is cute and fun at first but it has no depth. NFS has an inferior UI and physics in my opinion and multiple versions sits on the shelf. Madden and Tiger Woods is fun but it also sits on the shelf. Only GT gets continuous and addictive attention. From that aspect, I believe it is perfect.

I have played every GT since part one. I even imported the games that never made it stateside. The game is perfect to me because of the the physics. I don't mind rims or even a million tracks. What the game does it does better than anything else I have ever played. A car lovers dream. All the things people are complaining about don't really matter to me. The game could stay the way it is. I am floored every time I load up this game. I have 4 xbox 360's collecting dust in my closet since Nov 24, 2010. I use to love me a FPS. I am officially retired from everything not GT5.

I have to agree I love this game way too much. I play it after work every night. If I had one complaint, it would he the PIT maneuvers the NPC cars do to you when you are just naturally negotiating a curve. An example would be the NASCAR races. You can be on the inside of the turn and if they want there, they will PIT you in a heartbeat.

I still give the game a 9.9999999/10. lol

The game isn't perfect to me, but I've enjoyed it more than any game I've played for quite some time. Going to bed at 5am every morning since I bought the game is proof enough of that.

I too don't care about a bunch of extras that have nothing to really do with the actual gameplay. There is some stuff I would like to see implemented for sure, but they're not game breakers by any means.

The best way to put it, I've yet to turn off my PS3 disappointed.

Honestly, if the game hadn't taken so long it wouldn't of received nearly the amount of criticism. People expect perfection from a long development but it's just not going to happen with any dev team. Some people have acted like they were personally funding PD by sending them monthly checks and wonder where their money went.

They could of made the game better and it had an extremely long development, we get it. The game is still good. I have an extremely good time going down the track which is why I bought the game.

I'd take one of those 360s off your hands Kai, but I don't know if I could play it either because of GT5.

I have also played every GT and I have also hand-imported from Japan every Japanese version. I even have the Japanese language guides just as collectibles. No Euro versions or anything like that so it's not global. It is perfect to me, too. Perfect in the sense that it gives me everything I want and more. Sure, there are things that annoy me but then life is one big collection of annoyances. Perfection in life doesn't mean a perfect score. To me, perfection means happiness and satisfaction and on those two counts I rate this game as being perfect. I am more than just satisfied, I am at peace with it.

This is not to say I'm not frustrated with certain things about the game. I don't like the lumpy license gold requirements. Personally, I think most of the golds are too easy. If I can get 100% (in previous versions) then they are too easy in my opinion. I'm not that good. Very few people should be. In my opinion the number of people with 100% gold licenses should be minuscule. But, I digress. I'm guessing most of the people whining and complaining are not the same people who get or hope to achieve 100% gold licenses. I'm guessing those complainers are the ones who are more than satisfied with bronze and silvers or even just bronze licenses.

Cars are awesome

The game is lacking basic functions though (saving during championships for example).

I love the physics and the cars, but the general gameplay can be pretty frustrating at times

Yep, I do miss being able to save during championships but I must say that the good points outweigh the bad ones.

I love my GT5....I am 37 years old...having GT5 and my cockpit with steeling wheel I bought back in 2004 and Sparco racing seat.

I agree with you Kai...GT5 is not a game for me...it fulfilled my dreams since I started to realize I love cars when I was 16 or 17 years old...

Yes, it is a life style.....my colleagues all know that I drive the heck of my GT5 and I always encourage them to play online with me..

Turn on my PS3 and loading GT5 is a relaxing moment for me...i just want to soak myself into my world....a world with dreams....my dreams 👍

I love this website too...thanks a million to Jordan and all of you......i visit this website like every day ! :) loving it....loving my GT5 life...

hope my wife understands that too...:P
