I can confirm SCEA is aware of the Russian article, but they did not have any further comments to confirm or deny its contents at this time. I'm not going to do anything with the information yet - we'll see what comes out of SCEE tomorrow morning.

Well I guess I'll starting preparing for the worst and hoping for the best.

Thanks for the update. It might be worth contacting SCEE ready for when they roll in tomorrow.

Looking through that site it's far from trustworthy and clearly writes articles for views. Think Kotaku equivalent.

I'm pretty sure that means someone in Australia has reviewed a complete copy of GT5 and deemed it to be rated G. Woo Hoo!

Well you'd think a denial of the article would be in order.
Whenever we hear 'can neither confirm or deny' -at least in the US, its usually coming from a spokesman who is legally bound NOT to say the obvious truth. As in, 'as a lawyer for the Michael Jackson estate I can neither confirm or deny that he had ever received plastic surgery' :)

Your thought's on the parts/car gift function ?
Do you think if I were to gift say an enzo or a tuning item to a friend will I loose it from my garage/parts list ?
play gamer (ps3 only) magazine now says tbc for gt5's release

You have got to be joking it can't be delayed. Please !

Did Sony just announce the GT5 European Launch Party in Madrid?
So I don't think GT5 will be delayed.

Well... the name of that Russian website is madfanboy.com.

They've succeeded it seems, regardless of whether or not their information is reliable. :dopey:

The neither confirm or deny could be that they don't want to speak for someone else. All major corporations are like that. Something like, "well you will have to speak to SCEE, because that is part of their territory."

This may not mean anything at all.

Yeah if they just announced the Launch party in Madrid this wouldn't make sense...

I'm sure it's nothing more than a sick joke. Relax, people.

Yep SCEE wouldn't of sent out the E-Mail so they wont know for sure either. And certainly can't say.

Until there is confirmation, nothing has changed. Though I don't PD has very many more mulligans. :)

Wow, people are easily discouraged. One site that most no one has heard of claims there could be a delay and everyone goes nuts. Unless its Sony actually saying it, don't take it for truth. As Kevin Butler would say, you can't believe everything you hear on the internet :)

Omg the launch party ofcourse! This is just a rumour folks... just a site looking for hits

Indeed, I have heard no news from reliable sources saying it's possibly going to be delayed.

So this speculation is purely based on one source, a Russian site nobody heard of before ( or at least the non-Russians, maybe those who are Russian can tell us more about the reliability of this one )?
I'm not worried one bit yet as one source is no source in my book.

The fact that SCEA acknowledged that they know about the report but didn't say anything else is worrying. All they would've needed to say is something along the lines of "GT5 is still scheduled to release on Nov. 2nd in the US.".

Yea, but they deferred him to SCEE for comment on a specific site that was specifically referring to a delay in Russia. That does not surprise me at all. It really does not mean anything either way.

Ok thats it. I'll email everyone here a bag of Dorritos if the russians were telling the truth.
I'm unplugging now though. I trust a sandwich more than I do that crazy website.

But there was nothing stopping them from saying that nothing has changed in regards to GT5's US release date. It's just worrying that they weren't contacted about a possible delay of the game in a certain territory but wouldn't mention that nothing has changed for the US release. That would've put a lot of people at ease. Just based on SCEA's response i'm pretty much expecting a delay now.

I would think just as if someone approached someone in our office, would be to verifying before denying it.

Somebody is laughing somewhere.

Don't be the reason.

SCEA are probably just confused like we are. A delay is not impossible and I can't remember a big title being hidden in so much silence three weeks before release. The release event in Madrid is still on schedule isn't it?

I somehow doubt that it would be delayed so close to release. It should have gone gold already, and I don't think, even if it was delayed, it would be an entire month. If delayed, I would guess maybe a week, but I still doubt it. From what Kaz was saying last time he was asked was that the game was pretty much finished and they were just doing the polishing while they waited for Sony to give it the green light to be released. If it's delayed, then it would solely be Sony's fault, and with a game this anticipated, another delay this close to release would be crappy. Let's hope the next official words from Sony about GT5 is that it's gone gold.
