Max course editor lengh is around 6 miles......or 6km

The boxes and limited edition box pacs would have been made ages ago, Many of the game stores and retailers have had mockups for months now. Not an issue.

Have you just been watching The Gadget Show on Dave then?

Haha I sure have. It helps to pass the time while waiting for news on GT5 as well as waiting for the F1 in 3 hours :). 👍

EDIT: Back on topic, is the Madrid event on the 24th-25th November conifrmed then? If so I won't be expecting anything until then.

Ah I was hoping for a bit longer...do you have a source for that length?

As an aside, perhaps there could be an option for random generation whilst you drive, effectively allowing for a course of near unlimited length!

Thats a good 2 and a half weeks, I would expect most to be announced before then. Reviews will be out around then aswell, you don't get reviews before you get release dates. :sly:

( My 1000th post :D :D)

Care to smash a mystery for me? What the devil do people mean when they say that?

Thank you for the confirmation though I would still like to see the original article where that figure was sourced from if possible, just for reading purposes.

cheers, couldn't remember if it was 6 miles or 6 kilometers....Thats just the course editor limit, the Nurb's more than twice that lengh.

Think we'll get a release date monday possibley tuesday, probubley with a New PSN trailer to start the hype rolling.

Time to get prolouge back in the PS3 and get some practice in I think.

The only problem I see is the cases, books and scalemodels for the CE and SE editions. I bet those cases and scalemodels are made in china or somewhere in that area. They need to be shiped aswell. I don't think they will be traving by plane but by boat to the printingplants where they will be assembled. And 5000 SE for france only will mean alot more scalemodels must have been made for the whole word. I don't know how many scalemodels kyosho can preduce but it's lot of work beside their 'normal' production.

i expect they are on the same ship. i know a large cargo ship takes 12-14 days from china to the uk.

If the French copies of the game are already on there way from Austria to France then the packaging has already arived a while ago.

Looking now, I think the limit is only an assumption :\

Same thing with the number of sectors... at first it was only shown 4 sectors, but the GameStop Course Maker video, shows at least 7 sectors.

Here's the only "official" source I can find: IGN UK

Yamauchi created one for the purpose of the demo, a 10km run through the Belgian High Fens. It was sparse but not without sparkle, with rolling hills and fields and the occasional environmental feature like a small village giving it the feeling of a long and winding country road.

Does anyone know if we can set the elevation difference in the course editor? ie, start line = 800m / finish line = 0m

There's an "elevation cap", but I don't know if that means a course full of high and lows or a downhill\uphill course.

I was thinking more of a downhill/uphill course, although i would imagine that would be a hard thing to pull off within the confines of a course randomizer.

Haha the retarded thing is I know exactly where that is. It's in Venice at the Giardini boat stop, you can see it on google maps lol.

I did say it was in Venice not long after I posted the image, the website said it was part of a trip to Venice photo album.

You mean like a touge style course? It's probably possible as PD is Japanese. I'd be surprised if we didn't get something for mountain drifting anyway.

That would be epic! Have Polyphony ever done any mountain style courses in thier previous games?

All i can remember is pike peaks in gt 2 that was an uphill / downhill course

Pitty it wasn't the whole track it goes up 14,000 feet

If PD ever try their hand at creating something along the lines of Irohazaka (if not the real road), please, don't let it end like Fujimi Kaido, that thing only got the looks.

Well I decided to check about a dozen Greek online stores for GT5 release date. At first I was thrilled as I saw 2 of them said 19 November! (coincidence?) Well I asked one of them if the date is correct and he said "No, Sony hasn't announced the date yet. Thank you for spotting the mistake"!!

The other shops: one said 24/11, another 14/12, another 24/12!! Lies of course, we don't believe anyone. The others didn't say. (I know, useless story!)

Irohazaka is a bit insane, i would prefer Akina run on Mount Haruna since its a bit easier and famous

Perhaps the downhill /uphill course option is one of the base tracks we haven't seen yet? If they have mountain drifting in this game then i dont think i'll leave the house again lol. FT-86 downhill drift FTW!!

its unfair to compare it to a humongous track like the 'ring, instead compare it to most of the worlds tracks, fuji is 4ish km, suzuka 6km, spa 7km etc

10km is awesome 👍 but for point to point it could be a bit more

Can't wait to drive that car would be awesome to drive on mount haruna

I so want hillclimbs. I tight, twisty, tarmac, tree surrounded burst up a mountain. That is going to be so good. Can't wait.

Im all amped up to do some drifting now lol. I think i might go hit eiger nordwand for a while. Maybe there will be some more news when i get back.
