Least favorite. Really? What type of car do you like then just out of curiosity. It's not my favorite either but its no wear near the bottom. We all can't be a Buick grand national I suppose:)

I'm just not a fan of them. I like Ferraris, even Nissan GTR, past and present.

I don't care much for Vettes. My favorite American car is either the Mustang or Ford GT.

You know I have never seen a ford GT in person, never. One day though by some random stroke of luck.

The problem is often that some people take the words of people like Jeremy Clarkson as gospel, and when he says the car is "made of plastic" or "cheap" and they take it to heart.

as for the prices, direct from Chevrolet's website (MSRP in USD)

Coupe - $48,950
Vert - $53,600
Grand Sport - $54,790
Grand Sport Vert - $58,600
Z06 - $74,305
ZR1 - $111,100

I'm not sure that any of those cars qualify as CHEAP lol.

Cheap for the performance you get out of it? Yes, that I would agree with though...

Well, I think it's true that interiors in American cars usually look dated and they have lower quality hard plastic. It;s not matching the exterior at all. Compare a Corvettes interior with that of a 911 or Ferrari F430. It lacks style, finish and it's mostly dark hard plastic. The same if you compare a Chrysler with a Mercedes-Benz.. Even tho they're from the same company, Mercedes offers much higher quality in the interior..
American interiors have luxury, but they lack a proper finish..

My favorite current American cars from most to least:
Mustang
Corvette/GT/Viper
Challenger

You really have to compare a Cadillac to a Mercedes-Benz. Chryslers are not on the same level. But you are right it is a known fact that Americans tend to use plastic like nothing else exists. Cadillac seems and Buick seem to be bucking the trend though.

I think the fact that the outside if the vettes dont vary much within the different types of vette there are c6 still looks like a z06 which looks like a zr1 without much ooouter difference, which can take away from the specialty of the what the vehicle is. But ohh wouldii love a zr1! great car.

How could you hate the Vette?
-nicely priced. check
-Big V8. check
-RWD. check
-looks awesome. check

I don't hate the vette, the ZR1 has a lot going for it.

What about pick up trucks also. Like a Ford SVT lightning or the most crazy of them all, a GMC syclone. GMC's turbo truck from 1991. That truck would be so much fun to drive in Nurburging.
The SVT Lightning is in GT4 and I would expect it to be in GT5 as well. It is very nice on Nurburgring as well.

I too would perfer the Ford GT over any American car that I can think of. Vette would make the top 10 though.

MY favorite American car is still the Challenger. Mopars rock, man. You've got to respect the Hemi engine. It is what made the Charger the first NASCAR to hit 200mph.

I want to see the SRT10 Ram in GT5. I seemed to be missing from GT4. I mean, we had the SVT Lightning, Chevy's super truck, Toyota's but for Dodge, we got the Hemi Ram? Really? They've got to give us the SRT10 this time.

Ok, I apologize that I kind of started this Vette discussion. Now get back on topic, please.

Check my Avatar...its rivalry that would cause me to not really like the Vette....

i certainly don't hate it...my favorite car (the Viper) happens to stand for different ideals in car design :sly:

this i would generally agree with...however it doesn't make the car cheap or any less of a pure performance machine...

for instance...my favorite car is the Dodge Viper...

-its got leather bucket seats
-its got a cd player
-the A/C blows cold

frankly...i don't need much more...that is my opinion though

I've always been more of an import fan, but I've got a hankering to throw some American iron around when the game's out. Ford GT or classic Ford and Dodge muscle cars...

I was writing for class when the CZ drama blew up the forums, caught the tail end. LOL at the butthat that gave him premium before he [didn't] show us the goods. I don't think CZ will ever show up again, but a mercy banning oughta be in order.

The Challenger is probably going to be my next car. I mean it has everything I need, a back seat, huge engine, old school looks. Not having the SRT10 would make absolutely no sense.

I love reading about cars and all but, at the risk of sounding annoying, this isn't the place for it.

This is GT5 Latest News and Discussion and there has been enough stuff filling it the last few weeks without discussing your favourite cars.

Can I suggest this thread?

Ok, I apologize that I kind of started this Vette discussion. Now get back on topic, please.

What is the topic we are supposed to be on in this thread? Doesn't general discussion include talking about cars and what we would like to be included in GT5? If I am wrong I apologize but I thought we were in the guidelines. It sure beats that garbage that happened earlier today in this thread.

Edit just read what this post is for. Sorry guys.

It's not like theres anything going on. The games already bout to be out, its no biggie.

Your posts make me laugh Ishter.

Does anyone think we will get some kind of custom public lobby system where we can create a lobby with various options and have it open to the public kind of like was in Forza 2? I know there will be some kind of public system as well as private but I really hope there is a custom public system as well. IMO that was the best thing Forza 2 had to offer. I hated to see it go away in Forza 3. Private lobbies are nice but public lobbies open up a lot more possibilities for good racing with new people.

Honestly I have no idea, maybe for the trackday style online thing we can have options to have it private or public.

I know it isn't GT5 but F1 2010 has both quick races and then it has custom races which have private and public options. Maybe we will be able to do the same in GT5 as well as the special events similar to Prologue.

I'm tired of waiting I need to go to bed.Someone please download the video ... change the tile...and link it in forums ...please thanks :-)

Almost there... gotcha, i sure hope for a press release this week about GT5.

C4 will be cheap, probably get a good example for around 15k, C5 will run you from 25k-40k, so not really cheap for a 5 year old sports car. Either way you look at it, you can't afford a fairly recent one with a average job, even if you can afford to buy it out right, maintainance, insurance, parts, gas etc will cost you heavy.
You can pick a good C5 for $20K, a Z06 if you dig. Just FYI.

I believe its pretty much been announced that it will. There was a features list that specifically stated Private and public rooms.
