There was grass in GT5:P's Fuji, but I don't think it had flowers

Is that grass texture a bumpmap?

there is actual grass on both versions of Fuji - they even move when cars go past in the new version, see the videos I posted with the IS-F Data Logger

Hold on folks, GT5P has the yellow dandilion flowers. I couldn't see these flowers in the new version. I think PD would be making a huge mistake leaving these out of the full version of GT5 as it comprimises on the realism

No need to worry, they are still there but time makes fools of us all and they are now shedding their seeds and are the white fluffy kind, I think this has always been the case for Fuji, Eiger had the summer dandelions.

i hope so, i brought a PS3 specifically to see the yellow dandilion flowers on virtual roadsides.

PD got you covered ;)

BTW for some reason, GT5 looks so smooth in motion, but when you screencap it, it always looks jaggy

Also these background trees on the mountain behind look way better than the similar ones in the Nurb videos we have seen.

The trees are further away in Fuji and are really 2D, if you use the out of track glitch in prologue you can go for a roam in them ;)
Have we seen photomode shots of the Ring?

I'm talking about the mountain trees you see as you hit that low turn where the buildings are on the Nurb. The colours don't look right like they do here

and no Photo mode of the Ring yet. It's obvious, PD does not have a final Nurb yet. Otherwise they would have put it on their website like Fuji here

I capped this from the video - the background trees on the mountain look just right

Removed. We just saw it, thanks. No need to see it again in the very next post

I'm sure it's finished. Whether we have seen it yet is different.

Whats the difference between GT and other racing games?
Since you semingly don't have a clue, I'll explain.

Gran Turismo offers:
  • An entire car lot of cars from around the world to race, in dozens of performance classes, and ranging from historic dinky street cars to modern high performance race cars. And cars which are impeccably modeled.
  • The ability to modify and tune these cars to your heart's content, even the race cars.
  • A wealth of tracks to race on, from across the world, including arguably the best model of the Nurburgring Nordshleife in gaming.
  • Racing of all kinds, in various environments and conditions, and offering the best variety of driver views, including a very useful roof cam.
  • Racing of such depth that even in GT4, it takes months to do it all, if not a year or more. Online gameplay will take this even further.
  • Gaming on a powerful, stable, reliable platform, the PS3.
  • A finished game which doesn't have the flaws of being rushed and in need of numerous patches and fixes.
  • A game which is like a living work of art.
I have other racing games, and while I like them, I grow bored of them rather quickly.

I have a 360 and Forza 2 and 3, and while they're very nice games, they lack the serious work put into a world class racing game. All Forzas s to date have some pretty glaring issues, including car models with the very same flaws being carried over from F2 to F3! And the flaws and bugs actually got to be so annoying, I quit playing F3.

I have a few of the best PC racing games, but while the physics are very nice, the rest of the game is rather lackluster. Especially the graphics, which often look like a PS2 in HD, or worse! And while they usually offer a nice selection of tracks - Live For Speed aside, the range of cars and racing is very restricted. With some games, getting a satisfying driver view is quite difficult. And in the case of iRacing, because you're basically renting the game, the cost is rather ridiculous.

Hopefully this clears up a few things.

^^That really probably wasn't worth your time, I'm afraid. But great summary!

Those other games are out actually. :dunce:

sterile road surfaces no more! I think this is High Speed Ring. A bit blurry from motion blur.
This is why I don't think the Indy road course we had in the Time Trial is anything like what we will see in the full game...

And those other games bore me. :sly:

I thought about making a car in Forza 3 this weekend, but I don't want to spend half a day - or more - to get a handful of fuzzy washed out pics from the official Forza image compression site.

Theres real life pictures getting around that looks exactly the same as Indy in GT5 TT, I don't think it's going to change the slightest in the full GT5.

As in smooth? What is that picture supposed to show, exactly?
