Anybody in the U.S. received an email from Amazon yet regarding shipping GT5?

Ordered from Amazon, I received an email on 11/13 saying my GT5-SE order would ship to arrive on 11/24. If it ships earlier I will post it here.

I'm still mad that the dude from Gamestop said that there was like 60 boxes in the back and they was "too busy" to check the contents out, but yet, I was the only customer in the store and they wasn't doing anything in the front.:grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

That's not what he meant. The wheel can go 900*, but it's not ideal for a lot of cars, especially for racing.

There's a setting that will set extremely high FFB after 270* or whatever, and will change the steering input so that you don't need to steer past that.

The F1 on GT5:P is annoying to drive because you have to turn the wheel too much. In a real F1 car they have very tight steering locks. They can't even make a u-turn because they have no steering lock.

I disagree. I felt that alder the wheel turns 900 degrees with the F1, I didn't need to turn the wheel more than 270 degrees. The F2007 have's a very wide turning angle (I'm not sure if that is the technical word), but for me that resembles how F1 cars are (never been in one), made for high speed turns, not very tight low speed ones. I didn't have any problem driving it at Fuji or Suzuka, real GP Circuits. But maybe that's just me.

I've been really worried that the F1/X1 cars in GT5 will only have 900 degree steering with the DFGT, like the F1 car in Prologue. But I just watched the video of Vettel driving the X1, and it looks like the DFGT is locking to around 270 degrees! Can some other people check this out and give me their opinions?

As I said, alder the wheel keeps behaving with the full 900 degrees, I think PD made the adjustments in the game so cars like that turn as they should. With my little knowledge and experience, I believe that the F2007 in Prologue was done well in the turning aspect.

Found something, but not all I thought.

Steering angle:
The famous hairpin at the Grand Hotel is the tightest of the year - along with the sharp turn at Rascasse. Monaco therefore demands the highest steering angle of the season, some two times greater than anything required in Barcelona. Dedicated Monaco front suspension is produced to ensure the necessary steering lock can be applied.

I love you guys who say they never ever hit anything in an online race. Someday you will. Once in a while I'll be behind someone on a straight, and end up braking later than them and can't get out of the way in time and end up bumping their rear bumper. Maybe I just need to work on overtaking :indiff:

Thats why you have to weave in and out of the racing line, with luck you get the person in front to block you and get off their line so you can weave back outside to get a proper entry to the corner and catch them on the inside line of the exit, as they (due to late braking and taking a narrower line at lower speed) come out slowly on the outside of the turn exit. :D

In any other purpose, sticking to someones tail is only a good thing in acceleration not so much braking, unless the race is really tight and defensive driving will only make you lose speed, so youd stick to their rear but also brake much earlier than your usual "time attack" braking points, but in turn you can accel earlier also.

But thats the most common noob mistake is to dive bomb into a turn and ram anything in the way or everything if they swerve out of panic, but everyone knows the battle is won at the exit of the turn.

It happens, to be honest. I've had alot of people block me entering a turn and they brake eariler then they should. It does happen, but yeah overtaking on the inside is always a good choice if racing against a slower driver.

Yes, but I read that F1 cars are specially modified for monaco because of that. Sadly, can't find where I read that.

Yes the aerodynamics is changed just for this circuit, the cars I imagine would also raise there ride height significantly, but chassis are not changed.
