While I respect your opinion, Gran Turismo is first and foremost a car racing simulator. Yes, it could be great fun racing cars against bikes, but I don't think it actually happens in real life (then again, when did you last hear of a go-kart being raced against an Audi Q7?). More importantly, though, I'd rather PD keeps its focus on cars, at least in the realm of GT. I think I speak for most people here that the majority of GT gamers would rather spend a good amount of money on DLCs featuring cars we really want, rather than bikes. The last DLC is a great example.

Couldn't agree more. I'd rather have a Ferrari XX or any other supercar for that matter :)

Yeah but you dont always get a Ferrari or supercar... the last one was a 66' VW? and a Nissan Leaf????... not exactly impressive (except for the R35 Black Edition)... I guess I would be ecstatic if I owned one of the cars tho

Ok guys, we've been off topic for a while, and it's getting to be quite annoying. This is the go-to thread for people looking for the latest GT5 news, not the place for talking about everything and anything GT related. There's plenty of threads for wishlists, (like this one), one for talking about when the next will be released, a few speculating about what will be in it and one talking about why it isnt out yet.

So please, can we keep it out of here. Or maybe someone should make a general DLC talk thread...

The Leaf? I'll give you that but the '66 Beetle was a great addition, a lot of fun when 'fully' tuned on skinny tyres.
It isn't just about speed but how it's delivered, and the Beetle is certainly impressive within its own context.

Its not a problem if you dont want the DLC because if you dont want it, you dont have to buy it! :) Just ONE bike package is that too much to ask?

Game development isn't that simple. The development cost has to be spread over a large amount of consumers, so they need to make a business case for each and every DLC. Why would they make a DLC that would essentially limit the target market to bikers when the vast majority of GT5 players out there are car enthusiasts?

Also, double post -- there's an edit button for a reason.

You must have missed the memo about the Aventador, V12 Vantage and XJR-9 that also came with the pack.

While I know hardly anything about bikes I think as a nice gesture to all automotive culture the inclusion of say the worlds fastest bike and a Dakar racing bike would be a nice touch.

But it should be included into an awesome DLC line up of cars. After all GT is mainly a car game. It would make more sense having bikes than SUVs I think!

AND now if you wouldnt mind, back on topic...

Like I said before:

I propose we don't post at all here until actual news comes. I know GT5 news is slow, but this goes off-topic so much it barely warrants being open.

TROLL ???? no, just want bikes....is that a crime?... "ridiculous" Why? Let me guess....you dont want bikes thats why im troll ... right ?

No, it's because you've already voiced your opinion about bikes barely four posts before. We get it, you like bikes. There is a healthy discussion about bikes in GT5 and about Tourist Trophy 2, so there's no reason for you spamming up a thread meant for the latest news regarding GT5 and the discussion related to it.

And no, I do have a slight interest in bikes and I'd love a good bike game on the PS3. Heck, I enjoyed Tourist Trophy and it was pretty much the last game I played for the PS2.

Alright, this is getting ridiculous. Are you just trying to be a troll?

What part of :tup:BIKES is trolling? Even if he did post about bikes earlier he responded to someone else that mentioned bikes.

I think it's reasonable to ask for bikes in GT5, IMO it's apparent PD isn't going to take the time to develope TT2, at least not anytime soon with GT6 probably planned to release next. Why not add a few bikes and then add restrictions to lobbies so you can limit bikes, cars, or allow both? Free run with bikes and cars could be interesting. Just my opinion.

Yesterday, I let my brother borrow Gran Turismo 5. So I've semi-officially begun a vacation away from Gran Turismo 5. It really gave me a chance to really think about GT5 and what all I've been able to do in my playing experience. Yeah- I was disappointed on a lot of things. However, I was assured that any sort of skepticism would be met with some rather pleasant surprises. This will also mark the first time that my bonuses will go down for reasons other than having to change times because of Daylight Saving Time.

Some people just complain to no end. I kept playing this game out of love. I will just be a bit rusty once I decide to play GT5 again. I am on a GT5 vacation, but I still love my experience with it.

Well said, plus I especially loved that addition because I actually own one of the same year.

No, I don't think it's unreasonable. It's just that in my opinion PD should stick to cars, because the current development team already has their hands full with creating updates, DLC content and, of course, GT6. I know, an overused excuse, but this is a different world from the days when a work on a game is done as soon as it's released (i.e. GT4). That said, if they did release a bike pack for GT5 I would still be excited and will no doubt buy it.

My issue with abigor is that he is just reposting something he said earlier with no meaningful contribution to the discussion at hand, in a thread that has already gone pretty far out of topic (plus, this isn't the first time he's clamoured for bikes -- look at his previous posts). Nevertheless, I admit I've overreacted and I'm sorry.

I think it's completely reasonable too. I mean, Who wouldn't want to try driving Bikes along with Cars? And to be honest, I'd actually try to drift them.... :D

Bikes don't belong in Gran Turismo.

The last time I checked, most cars in GT aren't actually GTs. Let's not get into the whole "defining an IP that I have no control over", thing.

Sony were quite happy to see bikes in Gran Turismo, even if you're not. Myself, I would be over the moon; I expect, though, that it would be an expandalone-type-deal if they did follow up TT in some way. That way it's not likely to poison anyone's precious DLC, and it can use many of GT5's systems for efficiency. So we can probably all chill out about it. ;)

If people were really that desperate for bikes in GT5, I suppose they can just port them over from TT. It already has a cockpit view, so why not?

Gonna have a hard time using my G27 on bikes I'd imagine.

Let's not start this gentlemen. The thread for such arguing is here and you should know that. We all know there are pros and cons to both and then we have personal opinion. Move on.

How would one downscale a tracks complexity? Wouldn't it be easier to build it up to the required complexity then going farther? :odd:

Using the reduce polygon count tool in software like Cinema 4D. It's better to downscale than try and upscale.

Well the introduction of bikes was a GREAT move for the PGR series.

:(

I didn't play PGR so I don't know if you are sad that the series isn't around and think it was good or if you are saying they ruined the game. But if you are saying it ruined the game than all I can say is PD is a different developer and restrictions are the best way to introduce them but keep it from getting crazy.

The last thing PD need to do is add new elements to GT. They should finish what is already there before adding new stuff.

I'm not too familiar with how modelling works. Never heard of a polygon count tool, sounds like a fun thing to play with. :)
