With GTA, you can spend months doing either! Same with GT.

Thats why GT5P and GTA 4 are the only PS3 games I really play. I have other [PS3] games but never touch them very often, they just don't last.

Otherwise I play PC game/sims which are also well worth the money IMO.

Open ended, RTS and Turn based strategy games are also well worth the money. But for console, those game types are very limited.

GT is the only racing game that has truly been worth the money I paid for it.

I feel the same way about forza. I wasn't a hardcore GT fan before forza. Forza taught me how to be a good enough driver to try GT series again. Too bad that it only lasted a month or so. After that I couldn't even look at the forza disk without wanting to take it out to the shed.

We live in a fast paced world. Everything is available much quicker, and hence, we get shorter products. Movies are in theater today, and next week on DVD. Why did I bother going to the theaters to see it once?

You buy a game today, you get DLC the next day. Why wasn't it in the game in the first place?

It's a sick trend. But I don't like to be too cynical.

IMO

GT5 worth....65 €
FM3 40 € (all dlc included)
SCC 15 €
Dirt2 15 €
NFS Shift 5 €
Superstars V8 Racing... "oh hell no!" €

To be honest, the last game I bought at full price was GTA IV, and that was with GameStop credit. Other than that, I think it was RE4 for the PS2 (well worth it).

Other than, GT titles get my full support on day one because it lasts as long as GTA titles. Which is a HUGE compliment, especially since GT4 had no online and it lasted as long as GTA IV.

Same here. Very occasionally I play Shift but that gets boring very quickly. I'd say over 95% of my PS3 playing time is with GTA4 and GT5P.

I'll agree that there aren't very many games that I buy. I only buy the ones I know that will be top notch and keep me playing for months and months. So far the games I've played the most and enjoyed the most are

COD MW 1 and 2
Socom
Assassin's Creed 1 and 2
Rockband 1 and 2 (great drunken party game)
skate 1 and 2
Metal Gear Solid 4
GTA4

and I still play the **** out of GT4
But, there are games like the Final Fantasy's and Oblivion where I rack up a whole lot of hours. I've recently started FF7 over again and have around 40 hours on it. I believe I had over 99 hours on Oblivion. I hope GT5 will keep up with actual time played. I know COD:MW2 I have racked up over 15 days playtime between online, spec ops, and campaign.

So I guess I'm agreeing. In the most part in order for me to purchase a game it either has to have amazing online content or be open world type. Other than of course for the GT series in which I can play 1 car and 1 tracks for months and months against no one except myself. I think that's what makes Gran Turismo so great

So to make this post even longer I'll have to say that all the games I posted other than the GT series are all worth their 60 dollar price tags but GT4 and 5 would be worth a lot more to me.

PS< let's hope a Sony rep doesn't see any of this and give them any ideas.;

Guys just to let you know, there's a user on neogaf watching the gt5 trailer included in gow3 bd...

I just wish they would have shown a wider variety of cars. We are getting almost 1,000 right? Getting tired of seeing that freakin Mercedes.

Is that the ring? during the crash

edit: I love that big 5 scene with the cars in the front! Need that as my desktop..

Looks pretty nice. I'd say that's more likely to be Tokyo R246 at night than SSR5. Could be a new track though, who knows.

Let me repeat myself:

"It also gives me a chance to see the latest trends in car customization and tuning. This is all very important for Gran Turismo"-KY

Oh baby!

R246 doesn't have a tunnel, SSR5 does (as does the trailer).

Yes, this is old.

What's your point?

Tuners have been in GT before so it doesn't mean anything.

Customization. Latest trends. That got my attention.

Now take into consideration GT4's customization. It's laughable.

So customization and latest trends must=epic for GT5.

The Gallardo track at the end looks a bit like Rome from GT3 (that last kink before the straight near the end), but it could just be the new GT5 Rome track.

It is? You can make some monsterous cars in GT4, eg 1000hp+ 300mph+, 7 second 400m cars and crazy track beast.

Unless of course you're just using the term 'customization' for merely 'visual customisation, which GT4 allows you to change the rear wing and wheels ( aswell as visually showing suspension setting changes).

Yes, visually. Tuning=performance. Customization=style.

At least in America! And it's good he mentioned both. I remember KY saying we could manage nearly every part of the car in the final game.

So what were all the other tracks in that video? Was that Rome in one screen?
