THIS is how a V8 is supposed to sound:
After watching these two videos, i remember my one and only complaint about the GT Series! The EXHAUST SOUNDS! Why can't PD get it right after this many years? And i don't want to hear , if you have surround sound its good! Not everybody can afford surround sound! And both of the videos sounded, great on my two speaker LCD Tv. How can just about everybody in the world get EXHAUST SOUNDS right, except for PD!!!

Still supercharged, just not as loud.I'll raise you...
That's just pure...orgasm on four wheels.![]()

You realize the "new features" is basically the whole point of making a new game right?I was on the store today, and I read the description of the GT5 e3 trailer, it hints that GT5 will have 100's of cars, but more importantly new features. Im digging at something small, I know, but new features is practically confirmed. So long as they aren't talking about drifting and incar view.
Anyway this just made me realise that GT news is soooooooooo anticipated LOL
This is another instance where taste is everything. I despise PGR as much as NFS because the feeling of driving a car to me is completely missing. Plus all it is is a supercar orgy, and that's not my desire for the ultimate racer.it's PGR that conveys the feelings most associated with driving a real performance car, GT5 seems dead, accurate but dead, and one of the reasons for this is the sound.
The tire sounds are fine. Enjoy Froza 2, where everything sounds like a truck, or GTR, with it's odd breathy *whuff* sound until you really lose it, and the same with Enthusia. To this day, I hear car squeals outside my home that sound exactly like those in GT4 and Prologue. More games get it wrong than right, and this is something everyone seems to pretend isn't the case. Lol.the tyre squeal...has it even changed much in 12 years??? it sounded odd then, but PD must have thought it was perfect and never changed it lol

You're Right, but thats like a confirmation For people, as example, Like me who are Afraid of GT5 Being a GT4 with Really awesome Graphics.
If you have Prologue, I can't believe you actually said that without a sarcasm notice. If you do, slap yourself now. If you don't have Prologue, rest assured, even it makes GT4 seem old. You're Right, but thats like a confirmation For people, as example, Like me who are Afraid of GT5 Being a GT4 with Really awesome Graphics.
To be fair the in game impreza sound is what it would sound like if subaru built the engine properlyMaybe the Impreza WRX's will actually sound proper aswell![]()

fine? maybe to you, but to me they arent very convincing. they sound very 'looped' in a progressive slide especially. tyre squeal sounds very different according to the load on each individual tyre, a braking lock up with or without pulsing ABS doesnt sound the same as a power wheelspin or corner slide for example.
i think part of the problem with engine notes is that recording from the tailpipe isnt the exact sound you would hear say 15 feet behind the car, with the major added problem that they are often recorded on a rolling road - the mechanical noise of such a road is pretty disruptive to a 'clean' exhaust and drivetrain sound. PGR4 had some of the most impressive engine notes in my opinion, as well as some of the best sounding interior notes, capturing the muffled roar rather well
I don't think you should worry too much about that, after 5 years and a lot better hardware you should be able to expect a marked improvement in more than just graphics, I would say the physics are greatly improved, a bunch of new manufactures and tracks and what appears to be damage (for those who want it) I wouldn't be surprised if there are more surprises yet.
I try to avoid getting my hopes up for these sorts of things but I am confident GT5 will be a significant improvement over GT4. Oh I forgot fully customizable online mode is another thing you should expect.

Actually both Vector and Venturi still exist:What might be the reason why they're not in the game, is that both Vector and Venturi are dead car companies.
I'm no expert, but I believe that even if the said car companies would not "exist" anymore, somebody would still own the licensing rights, be it either the former owners or then somebody who bought the company assets when it went bankrupt. How does Vector and Venturi being dead affect their inclusion in GT games? I do not know. It would seem to me that it would easier acquiring them if you have no one to talk to about the license... Or is there? How does that work anyway?

Evidently, you just prefer those other games' loops, because they ALL do it. Maybe sound is the only category you judge racing games by, because PGR blows in all other areas.tyre squeal noises vary with the load on the tyre and the road surface. in this respect the 'looping' sound of GT's squeal isnt very convincing.
