Next bad news is the number of tracks...~24, I see it coming:

no Spa, no Monza, no Imola, no Mugello, no Silverstone, no Monaco, no good old Trial Mountain, Red Rock Valley or Seattle...

The only thing that worries me, is those standard cars, from the outside.. look a little...different :'(

So by this logic, all open cockpit car must have cockpit view, no? I mean they have to model it for the outside camera anyway.

Hey, if you all don't like what you see or hear or read, then why don't just not buy it or maybe stop posting here. It'll leave the track open for the rest of us.
I'm sorry, I forgot that it's forbidden to criticise the game, no matter what.

This was kind off confirmed when the race introduction screen said something like '5 laps / rolling start' on the demo builds.

It would be nice if we could play with the lights ourselves during the race opening :)

Oh yea that's true I remember reading about that.

lol I know during the race you'll be able to..... I wonder if people are gunna start High beaming peoples during the race try and distract em

Placebo I'd of thought. It's just the windows are different with give it a gt4 look.

So 800 plus cars don't matter anymore? You guys are rediculous. While you all are playing with 200 cars, I'll happily play with 1000 plus, even if most are just upscaled. Stop being ridiculous. So while most of you moan, gripe, and complain. I'll be enjoying GT5! :D

I mean come on. We've grown up playing with most of these cars. And I for one won't place them any less in my heart because they don't have an interior. :)

the moderators just close my thread but here goes again:

Sadly people i have to announce that GT5 will not feature 1000 cars in car cabins, its true that 200 will be exquisite detailed but sadly as the jp web page shows "* standard cars will not have in cockpit view"

Bad news for everyone but still really looking forward to it,and still really looking forward for this:

it seems like they focus more in the scenarios, still it could be more that 200 so just wait, and analysing it in deep is just going to be like prologue,37 cars on the launch and the an update to 70,they will make a mayor update to this one two, they just have to adjust to the schedule,at the end we will find ourselves with +1500 cars,1000 standard and then 500 premium so don't worry about this is just the basic GT5,

the reason they look so different is because they have tinted windows.

I thought the muscle cars looked really good, but that is probably because they have quite straight lines in their designs.

The old citroëns etc. didn't look much better than on the psp honestly (model-wise)

The whole "no cockpit view" thing doesn't bother me one bit. I'm playing a lot of GT4 right now which obviously doesn't have a cockpit view so switching over will be cake. I use the hood/roof view to race with anyway. (faster for me) Only use the cockpit view when I'm messing around by myself.

This.

People who are comparing "standard" cars to GT4 need to put down the booze, because they look leaps and bounds better than anything in GT4. Fact.

There are a lot of folks grasping for ANYTHING to be sad about, like their whole life depends on this game.

Is that a standard livery on that camaro in the back(left of the lotus)? if that is a camaro?
( the side stripes?)

That's look like a hint to livery editor. I can't recall any car have that side stripe on the front like that.

No, the textures don't have the same resolution either and here and there are definitely less details.

Looks like you need new glasses...💡

exactly what I was thinking :)

maybe a little good news

I'm not, 200 cars is way too less, I was looking forward to drive so many cars that were already in GT4 with GT5 quality graphics, that really blows.
do you really think that you can get all this quality(500k polygone,day-night cycle,damage....) and quantity(1000 and mor cars) in the same game??maybe but you need 120G and more!!

Where does it say that?

You can cut the panic with a knife!

I think I am going to avoid all the unconfirmed pontificating for a week or two!

:yuck: you are right. Two days ago when Eurogamer mentioned something about no interiors for standard cars, people got disappointed - then a bucket full of "dont worry about it, they're talking about damage, not cockpit view" comments and now we're back to panicing.

If it turns out to be true - no cockpit view for most of the cars - then, well.. We've been had tbh, I think I saw a comment about a dangling carrot earlier on with regards to prologue and that's exacly what it would be.

Looking back at the GT PSP trailer - there were a lot of cars that looked rather poor, my guess was that they were lifted from GT4 and didn't need much updating because of the platform. But it might just be the same quality we'll get for GT5.

You guys need to think of it like this. There are 1000 cars and 200 just happen to have interior views. They have improved on absolutely everything, I mean come on we are finally getting an online option. would you rather them to of not focused on optimizing or even giving us multiplayer and just done the rest of the interior views.. I dont think so..

So put it on two discs. If you're running out of space on one disc (which they said they are) then just make a second disc. It's not like blank blu-ray discs cost that much, especially for Sony, when they buy them by the tens of millions.

Let us install the cars and tracks on our HD, and then have the stuff to run the game on another disc.

yeah, guys, don't turn into Forza fans now who complain about every little thing (down to the last ten-thousandth of a cent) Be happy with what you have. I'll be enjoying ALL 1000+ cars as well. Especially with the idea that the other 800 might just include some of my favorite cars from the franchise.

This is the thing. I will enjoy all the cars as well. That being said I am still very disappointed.

Have you looked at the standard models? I don't care about the lack of cockpit anymore, they look really bad compared to the other cars.
