Hmmm. Isn't Forza supposed to have 400 cars?

I think you just met a very confuzled game shop manager, is all, what with all the epic racing games coming out this quarter. ;)

Actually that was a rumor awhile ago before F3 was even announced.

On the topic of game store owners not knowing s**t I recently went into my local Apple store to enquire about the new iphone 2 days before it was launched and the guys in the shop confirmed to me that there was only a software update and no new phone had been made or even discussed!

Ahh store workers, they think they know it all but its only us dedicated followers of the products that actually get the best information!!

Bring on December and a Christmas full of tyre squealing fun!!!

Chances are they had them in the back and just had to say that because of the NDA employee's of electronic companies sign.

I don't want to barge in on anyone's deep discussion so you can ignore if you want. anyway, as everyone knows, licencing is the biggest draw of any racing game. It does have the advantage of getting real modeling in game but it comes in at the price of realism due to licencing negotiations. Now I was wondering is that if PD were to make a game that had real design professional ideas/models (not a company like Ferrari, but a famous designer) instead of license would you buy it if it had the most realistic simulation ever. (90-95% reality)

I don't understand. How does GT's licensing factors reduce realism at present?

Also, a game will never be 90-95% realistic. GT5 is probably only 20% realistic even when using a steering wheel and playseat etc.

Well, never is a rather harsh term but and as such could be proven wrong evermore, but it's a simulator. It's priority is only to closely simulate and assimilate, not replicate reality.

Maybe in 50 years, they might have realistic racing game! To bad i will not be around to try them out!

To be perfectly honest, you don't even have to wait that long only problem is it's ridiculously expensive. The technology is there and it is being used, but it isn't available to us for obvious reasons. The scale downward, or upward if you care to look at it as such shouldn't take any less than several years depending on the application.

F1 simulators, like the one in Woking at Mclaren are very realistic, they even simulate G-forces, which I find rather impressive.

Well once car is licensed the manufacture determing how that car is used; for example, no damage to passanger cabin. Also the second part of my statement was hyperbole.

I doubt this is the case, PD would issue a statement of intent, and its upto Ferrari (example) to sign it.

Interesting, but isn't Assassin's Creed II coming out in late November? I'd say the rumour is unlikely, although I do hope I'm wrong

Good news for people who love new news!

The English version of "granturismo.com" will be closed as of September 21st.

"Until now we have been translating top articles from the Japanese "granturismo.com" site in to English separately, but hereafter we will be unifying our site with the websites for all world locales, so that you will be able to gain the newest information from any region."

http://www.gran-turismo.com/en/news/d3584.html

Could this mean no more miss-translations!? A truely unified world release?? Here's hoping! :)

Gamestop changed the release date to Febraury 2010 a few days ago and now all the young people on the internet are going nuts...:ouch:

Talking about "Realistic", it appears we're getting closer with the release date.

Here in the US that February date has been the same for quite a while, a couple months approximately.

We will know on the 25th, only a week away.

jordan ?? amar212 ??? kazunori sama ??? is there somebodsy who can tell is when gt comes ?

okay dudes put the funny things byside think logical so gt5`s damaga looks crappy on gamescom and i dont think it will look much better on tgs so if they need the time to improve this and maybe some othe stuff its okay to say it will be released 2010 but there is possibility number 2 bring it at Xmas 09 in bundle with ps3 slim and sony should make a lot of money so wich way would you choose when you are sony ? getting money or a superb game and dont forget they can update the game via patch .......

They had enough time to make it as good as possible.......
If this is it, then this is it. I'll be happy with it! If they don't release it this year then..... Well, the we have to wait longer to play it. But i'll be very dissapointed!

If KY is thinking about tyre deformation, then this could be out a bit later than Dec 4th.Maybe it's already in i don't know.
