-> I might think Clubman Stage R5 is semi-confirmed:

^ Notice the barriers on the upper side on where the pass goes to the left (aka. final corner)? Just pointing it out. :sly:

Dead giveaway. :sly:
I knew this before you pointed that out...that aside, it would be great if CSR5 would be in GT5 because it is the perfect track for novices to learn how to drive.

Good catch! 👍

Apparently, this guy did some music for the game. Only one of the best pianists in the world.

Ending two days recording virtuoso Lang Lang and concentrated. JS Bach, "the joy of Man's Desiring Lord" also began recording, the last of Prokofiev Sonata "war" in the Wanteiku OK. 17 tracks. A good record in any recording. The music fit the game fun. NY is hot and tired. Get back to Japan!

I can understand the following will be in:

Bach - Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring
Prokofiev - Piano Sonata No. 8

He is a great pianist and I won't be surprised if he's a GT fan and uses the controller instead of wheel. Sort of like cross-training to increase the dexterity to his fingers :) Provided he shifts manually.

Heck, even the cars you get from pre-ordering and from the CE are DLC.

I think they're not.

They are on the disc, but when you pre-order them you'll have them unlocked earlier.

As for possible DLC-content inclusion, there should be no worry regarding unification with the game.

We already had Spec III update which basically added a new track, new cars, new game modes (2p split-screen), revamped the PP system, made all-new events in career, etc.

So we can presume all GT5 is made as a "cluster" game where all possible additional content and such can easily be incorporated into SP/MP game.

It seems in cokcpit view driver takes of he's hand from the wheel when shifting with paddles. It seems more complicated to do animation for that than normal motion for just using fingers. Do you think this will bother you? Following video is from main page and cockpit ciew driving starts at 2:20.

It is so unnatural. I would love to see the reference material PD was looking at when they were modeling this shifting and how this got by KAZ.
I have yet to see someone take their hand from the wheel when using paddleshifters, except for maybe while they were turning, like in this video of the Enzo. Which I don't know if the real Enzo's paddles are connected to the column or the wheel.

Only the paddle gear change animation on rally cars is perfect

What about the SLS AMG? It has paddles on the wheel too, but the animation is the same as on cars with paddles on the column (ex: 458 Italia).

Maybe all this is temporary and will be fixed with an eventual full 900 degrees animation?... (blowout at gamescom?)

Nothing big to announce, but InsideSimRacing made a quick mention of GT and how it's not a sim, and neither is Forza. They seemed to have taken back a lot of what they said physics wise and sim wise of Forza.

Anyway, they had their reasons as to why the console games aren't a "full sim," which I could understand.

Sounds more like:
"Forza's a great simulator."
"Dude, Forza isn't a simulator. It has a permanent driving aid."
"Well...Gran Turismo isn't a simulator either." *sticks out tongue*

Sounds like a three-year-old

I wouldn't be so quick to judge. Unless you fast forwarded to the part, there is no way you watched it yet.

They were talking about how in games like GTR etc, you even have to be careful in pit areas since they aren't AI controlled.

I'm NOT going to watch 40 minutes of Forza-fans praise the game series. But complaining auto-drive thing when hitting pit-lane is nitpicking. I've played more games that do that then let you control the car in pit lane. It lets you decided what repairs, tires and if you want fuel or not.

Ya know, I'm not 100% with these guys' opinions but they dont' have 40 mins of praise for the game. If you stopped jumping to conclusions, you'd see that they even said they rated it higher than they probably should have.

And that GT5 will kick it ass online with 16 players, and some more.

Yep. I mean, im not exactly fond of Forza 3, but people don't have to be fanboys about it. Yes ISR basically made it out to be the next coming in terms of console racers, but if they actually watched every episode of these guys, they aren't all that bad, and they certainly have some good things to say about GT.

I recently bought an xbox so I could give Forza 3 a proper hammering... and the physics are very arcade compared to GT... Unless Forza is exactly how a car is on a track... in that case I should be a racing driver because I can throw any car into almost any bend at maximum speed and not crash! Plus why is it on Forza I can still get a pretty good lap time whether I'm glued to the correct racing line or miles off it! its still a good game, but Forza being a simulation is a little wide of the mark I think!

I've watched maybe a dozen full episodes and I remember forza being discussed maybe twice and it was never about it being such a great game.
Maybe you should actually watch an episode or two and not just regurgitate crap you read on the interwebz.

Anyhow, I have some experience with them as a simracer/admin and the only thing I don't really agree on that they judge GT5 against Forza 3. GT5 is not out yet, so judge Forza against its own merits compared to other games/sims that you can buy.

On that note I'm not sure that GT5 will be a hardcore sim like iRacing, rFactor or GTR2. Only time will tell. The only thing I have seen/tested was the trial that was wheel only to get a good time. That could indicate that the professional physics is made for wheel users and the standard is for pad users making GT5 both a game and a sim. But that's just my opinion and guesses. To bad that Microsoft don't produce the wheel anymore, it's the Xbox360 users that looses the most.

I don't know why they had to mention GT5 in that vid immediately after they said FM3 is not a sim.

after this vid, its obviously they don't know how to review a game, they overhype, then they say "sorry guys its not like that"

In my opinion people need to ignore them and enjoy their games.

You know the difference between the second sentence and the third one ""?

The Second one they had a good reason to say FM 3 is not a sim.

The third one they had no reason to say GT5 is not a sim.

They should rename this thread "GT5 Latest News and General Discussion Thread and also Forza"

General refers to topics around GT5 including competition. And what will we compare to? NFS Hot pursuit? TDU2? Those are arcade games, fun in their own right but no "Drivers experience" or sim. Even Burnout Paradise fits into that category. Insanely fun off and online with friends.

Sorry I was being a little sarcastic since Forza is becoming more abundant in a lot of threads.

Anyway moving on I found that any of the list there is any toscana road course, this hasn't been confirm but we have seen it in the 458 Italia tribute:

In 0:33 and 1:48 you can see a road course with the toscana backgrounds,of course is not the stelvio pass but I saw this road in:

video starts at 0:32 (sorry for the quality)

Its backgrounds are pretty similar to the backgrounds on the trailer, this is obviously old but no one had a look into the original/real live road so maybe we are seeing here another new(secret)track that could be based on this:

Its the Targa Florio circuit which seems like an "italian" nurburgring and is fairly similar with the top gear video so it seems that maybe we are getting a bit of it as a rally or road course.
