I can honestly say that Tokyo was one of my favourite tracks in GT4, but even I'm getting tired of seeing it lol.
I could imagine Apricot Hill in all it's HD glory!

The game is still a good 6 months away and knowing PD, they're good at building tension and revealing as little as possible. As to the R246, it would be splendid at night:

And you can't blame then for wanting to showcase Tokyo- it's where PD is and not to mention, one of the greatest city in the world.

Dunno why Mr. YAMAUCHI thinks that the variable weather is useless and we dont want it.... It would be great to circle the endurance race with the rain on the start, sunshine in the middle, and finishing at night....!!!!!!

Oh yeah, and with damage they could make online endurance races.... just imagine a nurburgring race against 15 human racers, all of them completely equal on performance points and making a single lap attempt to define the starting grid, the race start with the sun of the afternoon( just as GT4 nurburgring), and after a hour, soft rain fall on the track, some accidents, two or three cars totaled and then after two hours of bad weather the night darkness surround the full course, making the lap times much more slower...or making much less cars getting the finish race flag.....(sometimes I even dream with the game...my friends usually say that I'm sick, and "the ring" is the only drug which can help me...)

Wow, i love tokyo...But in all honesty, i'm getting tired of it being shown at events, Don't get me wrong it's a beautiful city, but it's starting to get old..atleast show new york or some other track..

What the hell are you talking about? Have you understood what he said in all the interviews?

I'm still wondering if the PS3 will have the horsepower and bandwidth to handle full - or even partial - 1080p graphics, day transition and rain dynamics calculations with even 11 bot cars offline. That is a lot of computing to keep track of. Still, Kaz was discussing the potential of more than 16 cars before, so maybe he already squeezed a bit more juice from the Cell BE.

I have a bad feeling due to schedule conflicts with GOW3 and Heavy rain, USA and EU will not see this game at march, I think a fall launch 2010 will hurt GT5 and ps3 since by that time gamers have already change there taste and also there will be new trends like natal and wand. But i still hope that Eu and USA version will be launch Feb.

GT should dictate other releases, but instead since development is still in the air they have to be the ones to suffer

Haha that was tight. I wish however that they could implement a heli flying around as if it were taping the race, and then have it as a replay angle

I think Sony should just bit the bullet and if it means releasing GT5, GOW3 and Heavy Rain all close together, then so be it; let's not forget that they're all on the same side here. The ultimate goal for Sony is to see the PS3 sell more consoles.

Releasing big games in isolation just hasn't done anything for Sony....MGS4 came out in isolation, and had a little bump, then sales went flat again. Exactly the same happened with LittleBigPlanet and Killzone 2, as well as inFamous.

The amount of hype the PS3 would get releasing all three close together would be huge IMO. The sooner Sony get out GOW3 and GT5 the better; the system desperately needs them.

Close together, yeah, but not too close. 3 weeks apart, at least.

That's exactly why Sony tries to release big games in isolation though. Release 3 major games at once will create a bigger jump in sales than releasing just 1. However someone who is marginally interested in all 3 games will be more likely to buy all 3 if they are released at different times.

Firstly because they may not have enough money at the time to buy all 3 if they are released at once and being only marginally interested may mean they forget about the game or instead want a new game not an old one.

Second, they again forget about the title they see as least important if they think they are spending too much on gaming.

By releasing the games seperately people will feel like they are spending less.

Ontop of that, releasing 3 games at once will cause all 3 games to have less attention in the media spent on them. Spreading them across a year allows each to have a bigger media impact.

Also, 3 major releases means 3 different bundles (Doubt Heavy rain will be in a bundle though being a completely new game that may or may not end up being a success) which retailers may be unwilling/unable to stock.

Anyhow Sony may still go ahead and release all 3 just because they are totally different markets. Only problem is loss of sales from less knowledgeable fad consumers who may not care about the games as much but just want whatever the newest and most popular game everyone else is playing. Not sure what contribution Sony would find that makes to sales.

Also if you think Sony desperately needs big name titles then you either have no idea what has come out on the PS3 since launch or are just saying that because you want GT5.

Yeah, that seems about what I'm thinking.

I know exactly what's come out on the PS3 since launch as most of it is on the 360 (in better quality as well). It's no good having big name titles that are also available on another console. Sony need their own big name titles out; Uncharted 2 was a good start, but it's no GT5 or GOW3. And they need them out ASAP to really capitalize on the new hardware and price.

^ Interesting find! I might look into that later. :)

Question-> What are these threads talk about GT5 will include motorcycles? But I think that KY will be more involved for the development for TT2, but that would be OT. :indiff:

In his latest interview with IGN he mentioned sth. like there's a possibility of motorcycles being in GT5 or a completely new TT game (TT2), if the fans whish so.

FF13 in march and GOW3 in march very much kills GT5 launch in March so it will be a very frustrating FAll or DEc 2010

I think that the first 4-5 months of Sony next year are going to be insane, and it's really going to help Sony boost their sales quite a lot. GOW3, GT5, Heavy Rain, FF13 and Mag. That's games of all different genres releasing in the same time period. If you ask me, I personally believe that this is an amazing move by Sony to had delayed GT5 to March (or after on other regions besides Japan). Now all they need is good advertisement, which is where Microsoft has had the edge and what makes their games(and consoles) sell more than the PS3.

Sorry, march in japan only and a very late Fall for EU and USA. That sucks, my prioritize FF13 which is inferior version than 360

You have the year all figured out, eh? ;)

Oh well, I'm not so inclined. Amazingly, during the holidays you have dozens of games releasing and it doesn't seem to matter. A few in the spring is no big deal, has happened before. GT4 released to the west in February.

By the way, for those afraid GT5 might not look so good, I'd like to see the shots of upcoming games that make you think so.
