Your whole post boils down to your expectations. I'll use your example. If we were never expecting a proper toilet, the bucket would do fine. If you were expecting a proper toilet, then obviously the bucket won't do. Although to be fair, in Prologue we got 74 premium toilets and no buckets which made everyone, including myself think that all 1000 lavatories would be toilets. Since the first bucket v toilet news, I'm expecting the very least which is 800 buckets and 200 toilets then I will be less disappointed.

[/BucketToilet example] :).

I am certainly expecting a toilet, but if I gotta go bad enough, a bucket will do.

After 5+ years of waiting to go, I gotta go pretty bad. :nervous:

Okay, the suzuki isn't everyone's cup of cappuccino but you must accept that the wider audience enjoy driving a range of cars and not just your Ford GT's and Gallardo's.

The off beat cars add a element of variety that helps keep interest and playtime in the game. Eventually you get bored racing the same cars over and over. Rally does the same thing.

Good point. I doubt they'll wait til GC2010 to say hey, no cockpit view for 800 cars. That's too close to release date to drop such a negative bomb.

On the other hand, they might wait to finally clarify this exactly for this reason, with people pre-ordering the game and perhaps even buying a PS3 in advance.
This whole thing boils down largely to poor communication skills on PD's part if it turns out the Standard cars won't support interior view in my opinion.
They may have dropped hints we didn't interpret correctly or we didn't perhaps even wanted to see.
If this was clarified ages ago, the ones complaining now ( including me ) were already reluctantly used to the idea.
So either they still have a surprise in store or they should've clarified this whole issue much earlier.

It took me all of 3-5 days to get over the look of standard cars and no cockpit. If they kept telling us from the start that this would be the case, most of the people would've gotten the point and accepted it. Their timing is piss poor in my opinion.

FOR YOU PERHAPS..........

See? An argument is still the same whichever size of letters you choose.:indiff:

Exactly what argument am I making? I want this stupid, endless debate to stop.

If the GT site is anything to go buy, though
Why wouldn't the GT site be anything to go by? It's official.

the tree "Premium" models and three "Standard" cars look pretty similar on the outside.
That's what you think. I think they look pretty different, and if the image was larger I bet you would clearly see that the standard cars have far less polygons.

Um...they HAVE been telling this from the start. But, I guess some people don't remember the humble GTHD

This again? They told us ONCE, 4-5 years ago and never brought it up. Telling is not past tense. It's ongoing. They should've been reminding us.

but they did tell us. Personally I just think a lot of people were looking for something to complain about. Me? I'm just happy about the 1000 cars...and the fact that it's coming out soon.

Sorry!but what's about 3D cockpit view?I mean if just 200cars will have a cockpit so we will be able to play in 3D only with this 200premium car!and I can do the same thought with the head tracking!!

I don't know? What do you want to replace it with? Make a suggestion and see whether it catches on.
And besides, who are you to tell us what we should be discussing?

In the meantime...dave_sz, I agree it's poor timing, if they come forward with credible reasons as to why most cars didn't support it a long time ago we wouldn't have this expectation ( and therefore disappointment ) building up during the epic development time it took to finally release it.
Maybe they did try, but at least to me it didn't come across very clearly ( and wasn't the consensus on this forum until a few weeks ago ).

Exactly. I think it would make people appreciate premium cars that much more as opposed to hating standard cars as many seem to be doing.

ENOUGH

We have debated this for too damn long and too damn much. Is it too much to ask that you guys need to put this nonsense to rest for 🤬 crying out loud? Seriously. All I see is crap and BS that apparently will never be solved until Gamescon and arguments people seemingly don't want to stop so lets just drop this crap and cease this facepalm marathon we've been having for way too long. There is hell of alot more things we can discuss then this "Premium vs Standard" BS we seem so damn obsessed about.

👍

Nobody talks about the good things we get

I wonder if the day/night transistions were left out or if the yet unknown weather wasn't implemented would the arguments rage as long as this one.

I suspect not as they would be seen as added bonuses.
Cockpits are not bonuses they are central to gameplay for so many users.

I ask again could someone clarify the gt4 hood cam question for me thanks.

I doubt it.

I suspect your probably right.

I ask again could someone clarify the gt4 hood cam question for me thanks.

I'm not 100% sure, but I thought it did not have a hood cam.

We were told to late about these standard cars.
ENOUGH SAID.
Can we move on now?

Be my guest and please move on, but to what exactly?
All those complaining about complainers or whining about the whiners, please change the subject by offering something more substantial to talk about instead of only complaining the subject is beaten to death ( which at this point without further info it probably is, but I promise you it will come back ).

Don't know if anyone have noticed this already, but could this be a hint of a paint shop? The image is very small, I know but the '69 Camaro is painted gold and it looks like the bumper and the side view mirrors are painted black.

Short answer: I'm annoyed and tired of it, thats what I am. Since we are on the subject of changing the subject, here's a suggestion:

Lets talk about the This Track editor we've heard about. I'm sure there is much more uncharted territory in this.

I also happen to see (in the image) a monster lurking in the back with its mouth wide open ready to swallow all three cars :)

they are indeed strittan. Where's that image from? And does anyone know if the camaro ever came in such a colour-scheme?
It's from gran-turismo.com, and I have never seen a stock '69 Camaro with that colour. :)

EDIT: I was wrong. It obviously was a Chevy colour back in the day, and was called Olympic Gold. :indiff:

A friend of mine, who isn't into driving games, said (After I bored him with all this standard vs Premium stuff) he thought all driving games had a cockpit view. He said it was like if you couldn't see your gun in first person shooters. He thinks it's essential to racing games, never mind a racing simulation game.

He's right you know.

The problem with talking about it is it's almost all guesswork at this point :-/.

I really don't expect much in the way of news (well, to the extent this thread is supposed to be for) until GamesCom. Anything that does pop up that shines some more light on the finished product is just an added bonus.

This can be good, those 3 are premium for a fact.

Yet have tinted windows, maybe PD using tinted windows to emphasize detail on premium?

I'm not in denial or anything, we just dont know 100% sure anything.

But, it does leave wide open room for fresh speculation (within reason of course). While we have no definite info on what it is specifically, we could start some reasonable theories. Of course hopefully, no one makes some noob assumption that it works like the one in Modnation racers.

Erm... the windows are not tinted. It may look like it because the cars are in such an angle that you can't see through any of the other windows, but only the windshield. You can clearly see the dash on all three cars and the top of the right door on the Camaro.
