I know he's playing in arcade mode but damn, it looked stupidly easy and like the car was stuck to the track in that race he just had at Eiger. Is he playing with all damn assists turned up to max or what?

Yes he is.

He doesnt know how to drive. And he races for 2min and than goes back to menu. But the game looks great. I prefer watching Chris on GTplanet 👍

Pretty sure he is. Look at the "throttle-bar", it's red when he uses it..

hmm first time I have watched Gamespot 'Now Playing' and probably the last...will stick to information provided by members on this site :)

I'm going to play devil's advocate here - the reviewer seems clueless but so will many many people who buy GT5, so this review is for them ;) The truth is, the majority of people buying the game won't have a wheel and will drive with some type of assist.

If only no-driving-aids purists and hardcore sim racers with cockpits bought the game, Sony would be lucky to sell 100k units.

I'll probably get bashed for saying this, but these guys don't seem very excited over this game - rightfully so.

There are plenty of things missing, and its quite obvious that everything negative brought up about the game the player is doing the PR twist to not piss off Sony and PD. I haven't been following this release, but my roommate just moved in and has a PS3. I was excited to hear this coming out soon, as I'm sure others were. But it just seems incomplete, and watching this video is reassuring me of that.

And now here comes the fanboys claiming otherwise...

"I, like, can't, like, take any, like, more of, like, this, and stuff". Geez, this guy is absolutely terrible!!

Too bad the people playing the game dont seem bothered, also they keep comparing GT5 with NFS. Sigh..

So you haven't been following the release, know nothing about the game, are going to play it on your roommate's PS3, and yet it feels "incomplete"?

That makes perfect sense.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. However, as a professional game editor, I think gamespot has the responsibility to give a better review to people new to the series and to the seasoned pros. They don't have to be expert in driving, but they should try notifying the players new to the series about all the driving aids feature, and shows an example will be nice. Comparing the physics to other games without giving more info into the context is false information.

They can also discuss and critique the features that Polyphony promised, but it seems the live session of their show is badly prepared. I watched a few live previews on different sites and i can tell taht kotaku and 1up do a much better jobs with any games. I think 1up had street fighter pros coming in when street figther 4 just got released, that way they can show to people new to the series the possibility of the game.

Can I be the first to say <ahem>.....

"Obvious troll is obvious"

Thank you <bows> Thank you.

Although On Topic a bit - that was a pretty lame feed. It seemed like they've only just got the game, scratched the surface a bit and felt they had to get something out to get hits.

They were almost apologetic about the lack of a review..... The problem is I get the impression that once they've had a blast of online (and that could be messy with millions all trying it on day 1!) that'll be review done for them and they've not really explored the depth of the game at all....

Rotor.
