I think the game should make you do a stop-go penalty in the pits if you take an obvious shortcut like cutting across the grass at the hairpin at Suzuka.
There was actually an option for this in GT4's arcade mode, well a drive through rather than a stop-go penalty. Although, one would only get this penalty for ramming the AI cars and wall riding, not for shortcuts. I think stop-go/drive through penalties would be a great addition to GT mode and online races, but only for the longer races.I think the game should make you do a stop-go penalty in the pits if you take an obvious shortcut like cutting across the grass at the hairpin at Suzuka.
I really cant stand the GT5 system, Only recently got onto the top licence races (and the penalty system) and really dont like the bugs in it.
Something based on real racing would be a lot better.
With the short cuts, they just need to make more harsh curbs, so they cause damage to the car when you go over them!
Be careful what you wish for on that point. Those "punters" you speak of could very easily buy a couple cheap cars, ram all the supercars behind them when the race starts, and therefore piss off serious drivers while they themselves have no problem buying another cheap car.
Hey BolgOfThe North i'm not far away from yourself, i'm in Stoke.
so you think shortcuts shouldn't be penalized? o_0
It's the only thing they should keep from the prologue
I think the penalty for taking short cuts should be gone hear me out on this.
But in turn
- have full power in the grass
- have no control which means easy to slide around and damage vehicle
- even when reentering the course, the tires have a low amount of grip requiring tire change in pit
- the effects will vary on car hp, setup and tire compounds
All penalties should be delt with by pit lane by the number of infractions
- drive through
- 10sec pit
- 20sec pit etc
