Since GT is a big game, if they release a car DLC every month or two, for about 2 years, we are gonna have the same mount that they have in Forza.
I belive the Polyphony have extra cars and some tracks thats going to be a DLC in the futere.

Honestly i don't car if the game have 1000, 3000, 100000 cars. We all play with a maximun of 20, 30 cars. I have Forza 3, and have about 80 cars in garage, but i play with just the ones that i like most. And is about 10, 15 cars!!

The problem of GT it have A LOT of japanese cars, with 3 or 4 variations of each.

The car list in the new Need for Speed Most Wanted is wonderfull. And have a MAXIMUM 60 cars.

There are a lot of car that just come out that should be in GT5. And i hope they put in game in the coming months!!

Not many games I would say this about but the reviews for Gran Turismo will tell us more about the reviewer than the game itself.

I agree.
The reviews i've seen so far FAIL.

Chris over on the GT5 video forum [ https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=132889 ] is really doing a stellar job walking people through the game (as he progresses). He is also really selling the game. As it turns out, Chris is an semi-professional race car driver, and obviously knows a thing or two about car physics/performance/etc. His video commentaries have really amp'd me up for tomorrows release. This game is going to be awesome.

lol fanboy.

That guy you say is unprofessional also reviewd Forza 3 , F1 2010. so it's not like he landed from Mars. Just because you want the game to get a 100% and it didn't you call the guy unprofessional?, yet you haven't even played the game.

so basically anyone who disagrees with you is an idiot? 👎

i don't have an opinion of the game, since i only played prologue, but at least i will reviewer credit for making an audacious statement, that is sure to bite him in the ass, since Sony will not take this well from France's biggest game site. he may need to start looking for a new job.

While I agree with your view, starting the post with fanboy will get you nothing but a warning.
Be civil.

I play the game, and I disagree with his test on a lot of aspects.. Sorry mate, but in France jeuxvideo.com isn't considered to be the best french reviewer website ;)

I agree, Chris is doing a tremendous job, considering he is Arnolds relative ;) Let there be no doubt, the physics is the best there is for console gaming right now. Just missing a bit movement in the WRC-cars. They seem to stiff in default setup. Something to tinker with during christmas, I reckon ;)

How can we state that these reviews are "right" or "wrong" when we havent even touched the game disc yet? How can you say a reviewer's points are "dead on" when you have no basis for agreeing with them?

You've seen VIDEOS. You have not played it.

Not quite, many of us have tried demos, and seen how it looks there and how it felt.

Oh sure it wasn't the final build, but the physics were, so we do have some (if little) experience to state these things.

Also some of us DO have the game, I am not one, but if you want to talk to someone who does have it, go to Christhedude or Tekken90 (cheers to both of you for contribution to the community)

I think reviewers will be critical based on the 5 years of development. The expectations are too high. Is this a better game than Forza 3 (almost certainly - I haven't played gt5 yet so we'll see)

But after the debacle that was Fallout New Vegas I think reviewers are shy of letting the hype woo them. Also most reviewers preach to the middle of the audience. The middle is often an american audience which is a sizable portion of GT5 sales but still a minority world wide. Really the success of this game rests in Japan/EMEAA and elsewhere. I think the American audience is pretty built in and those that are going to get it will. Everyone else will go, "ooh pretty but GT games are too hard."

Most American "Gamers" which review sites pander to those who play FPS's and the few racing games they do have are like burnout and NFS. Even for Xbox, Forza players are a small minority of Xbox owners.

I think anyone who is interested in this game will get it and like many a GT series before most will play no more than 50% of the game (with the controller) and move on to something else.

I just don't see the reviews meaning much in terms of sales unless they are overall scathing and negative which they just can't be with so much game.

Agree really agree 👍 👍

^It is obvious it's a bluff. How can it give the lowest score on gameplay and the highest on duration?

Depends on how they relate them. You could have a terrible game with all the content in the world. It sucks but if you spend 50 bucks on it and it lasts you 50 years, that's pretty good in the duration department at least.

Yeah i agree, I bet his commentary is way better then all reviews that will come out.

Even if someone gave GT5 a 2/10 I will still enjoy it and know that its the best simulator on a console!

I haven't trusted IGN's reviews in a long time...and I'm not about to start now!

I much rather IGN than any other site. At least IGN tries to provide a professional review. Their team is top notch in my opinion. I know many people disagree with that.

Sounds like a mad fanboy wrote that review lol He's complaining that there is no rubberbanding. How can you take someone that says that seriously

I hope you're not expecting 9+ out of 10 scores for GT5 cause it won't score that high. The 5yrs+ dev + low res textures at some places + 2d crowds/trees will drop the score.. The hype is just way too big and in the end it'll only "hurt" the game.

I'd take this article pretty seriously as they're "huge fans" of the series.. And guess what, they're probably people who like the GT Series as much as you do.

I'd be one who'd have to disagree. Sometimes their reviews are just fine, while at other times I'm confused because they say things that are a little off...Or maybe I should say that the reasons they give for subtracting from the score don't make too much sense.

I'd much rather trust 1up.

But in the end I really won't care what any reviewer says, because I'm judging a game for myself when I play it. :)

After I have played it a while now, i will personally give it 9/10, i can put a finger on what it misses, but something is missing, and its not dmg or the typical things people whine about. But overall its a game that makes me put a smile on my face, and sometimes a frustrated mine, as i do licenses :D It delivers what i expected, and more too...

I highly doubt reviews overall will avg much higher than 7/10 approx... most reviewers either.

1) Dont like car games
2) If they like car games, they like arcadish ones
3) If they like racing/sim, they know gt 1-4 and will compare it, and say "5 years" yada yada yada....
4) If they lige GT5, it would still be over ruled overall by 1) 2) and 3) :D

Really? 7/10? I'm expecting more of an 8.7 or 8.8 score...The highest average in my opinion would probably be a 9.1...but that's just me.

True very true, still I will be looking forward for Ign's review and the Famitsu review, what both sides have to say.

Most hardcore FPS gamers are not going to like GT5, and that's what a large majority of game players are. This is aimed mostly to casual gamers (the largest group), racing fans (a small group of the video game industry), and most potently to sim racing fans (which I think is by far the smallest group of gamers).
This reviewer was probably done by an FPS fan, I'm sure if you check out his CoD and BFBC2 reviews he'd say their excellent (unless he downplays BFBC2, he's probably anti-Sony, as EA is Pro-Sony, Activision is Pro-Micro$oft).
By far, a pretty crappy review that's not agreeable, even the TT demo saw a huge advancement in the physics. And yes, the damage is a little hard to get out (Kiosk Demo), but this is not Burnout, this is Gran Turismo, you drive, not crash.
