Interviewer: Would this include a livery editor?

KY: “Probably not for GT5, though it’s certainly on our list of things to work on…”.

https://www.gtplanet.net/gamescom-the-yamauchi-interview/

it's time to bring it, Kaz O_O

I don't need or want a livery editor. I just want the ability to place livery's such as manufacturer logos and the like on my car(s) similar to the ones found on the '69 Camaro Race Mod.

He was talking about boost not the ridiculous slip stream, hence the line "Only once the gap is over 2 seconds" From being in another popular Super GT series, I know there's no slip stream effect from that far back.

I was referring to the ridiculous draft in general. It's just too massive. When you're at a point that you catch a tow (at the biggest possible gap) you get a sudden NOS-DRS-KERS like effect. Regardless of the distance, it's the same - be it 1 inch or 20 yards.

Nokkien
One of the reasons I LOVE GT5 over Forza, is that there is no livery editor.
I genuinly hate having to watch others 'artistic expressions' in a online race.
And one of the reasons Forza never will be a serious contender to GT5.

You may have to give GT6 a miss then sorry.

Kaz wants to implement it.

Sorry mate.

Well about Livery Editor I agree with Nokkien, I'd hate to see a lot of bad quality liveries over the track, but I think than basic shapes as Stripes, flames and Sponsors would be good

They really need to simplify/speed up/ORGANIZE multiplayer lobbies....and bring matchmaking!

Seriously in 10 months I may have played 10 times online :ouch: and it was supposed to be THE feature for me. It was a complete let down!

Yes read the above posts. He said it's on the list of things to do.

Whoops must've missed that :ouch:. Well, Note to self, read whole page first.

And yes it does seem alien to me as Kaz, although his plan is for a livery editor, it just seems a bit delayed. Bringing a game like this in the time of Forza and LFS and NFS and all these other racing games with livery editors and what not and the best we've got is a paint booth. Just seems as though he isnt being very combative to rival's or attentative to fans plea's. Just my thoughts....

Yes! I love customization! Although I see how people could be annoying with it, the benefits outweigh the costs by far--just like YouTube... If a livery editor is implemented, my life will be complete. Doubtful, but I can dream.

I can't read through all 27 pages of this thread, but is it safe to say:

1) we don't have any indication of what's included in the Spec 2.0 update and

2) what would be available as DLC?

Crazy comment. Forza's livery editor is one of many features which excel over gt5's poor feature list.

I hope he put in a multiplayer track of the Vegas dragstrip! PLEASE KAZ. Surely he has seen all the people creating drag rooms.

Could be very exciting times for GT5. I continue to have faith PD will have something special for us.

I never really understood why some people are against livery editors. To me, thats why Forza has so much replay value.

DLC more than likely will include Tracks,Cars and possibly more photomode and course creator locations.Or something like that

I cant see them including extra Features in DLC. That would more than likely be in the updates

We are assuming from what we got from GT5specII.

Have I ever told you the definition of ... crazy ...?

Crazy is you actually believe that.

What fun it would be to have all racing games look the same ... NOT!

That's exactly why they bash it, because FORZA has it (but they will never admit it...they will just keep saying things like "ppfff you're wrong, I just genuinely hate it" , "why...only because the other one has it?")

See?

What's next guys? Bashing drag races? Circuits? Cars? Storefront/auction house? Tire deformation? Sounds? Damage? Body customization? Free palette coloring? Matchmaking?
Put your goddam fanboyism and pride away for 5 minutes and try to be OBJECTIVE.

Forza and NFS are succeeding, are they not? They are obviously doing something right.

i associate colouring your cars like disneyland with games like motorstorm. Get that **** away from GT

It's my car, I should be able to do what I want with it. People in Forza have done some amazing work on the cars. Plus, you can make your own race modded car. Put your own sponsors on it.

Old Aussie Holden and Fords, Bathurst and the v8 supercars are the most things Aussies have been asking for. But Doubt we will ever get any thing form these guys, like in the passed with inclusion in GT5 sanctioned race events.
