I DO NOT KNOW WHY they do not have a supra in the premium section why!!!!!!!

I think there is one actually...

This thread is becoming quite pointless. We don't need another standard/premium or GT5 vs. Forza 4 whining thread. There's enough of those. Perhaps someone should lock this?

It's over 9000!!!

Seriously, why did people take that so literally

At least a few people get my light sarcasm. :sly:

I don't think it really matters that F4 has better wheels than GT5 on the Supra.

I mean bloody hell, God forbid when we get super ultra realism with GT6. People will be burning effigies of Kaz because the stitching on a Skyline isn't proper.

/sarcasm

Since this thread is still useless, here's a pic from FM3.
I don't own FM4, so I can't get pictures from that, since nobody's sharing pictures from that, I won't bother taking one from GT5.

ill edit with a pic from gt5

that was supra rz-s its a bit different the bumper of the rz 97

Well, I'm pretty sure the Turbo A is a bit of an icon in Japan, what with it being a Group A homologation model and all, and there only being 500 (ish) ever made. It was also the "baddest" Supra available until the 1JZ engines appeared. So that would probably come under the first two of Snaeper's criteria.

I'd rather the Twin Turbo R were premium; I've good memories of that car from GT2 onwards. The JZA80 should obviously be premium, too, but presumably neither of these are as rare as the Turbo A.

Wow!I didn't knew that it has a history!
My friend own one - and I drove it - very balanced, predictable, awesome handling RWD car! I can tell you a story about that car in reality and in GT. In short - GT represents it brilliantly - as my friend driver says!

This thread sooo reminds me of why I stopped coming to GTPlanet for a good while. Too many dudes with waaaay too much spare time arguing about something completely pointless. Well, I'm back, which makes me one of these dudes. :indiff:

 as long as you admit it, as long as you do..."pats on the back"

We're all that dude.

Big deal they put different region centre hubcaps on the car. Change the wheels, stop complaining, it's still from a Supra, if you decide to keep the originals - meaning you like them, invalidates your complaint in the OP.
Nothing else on the Toyota Supra in Forza looks inaccurate, if you have another issue to bring up, at least put up a photo to let us all have an idea what you're talking about.

The newer model Supra's in GT5 aren't premium, but that's beside the point.

I think the real question at hand is this?

Is it really that much of a problem, and how often is anyone going to spend looking at the Supra's bloody wheels?

Ok... I'm not the greatest photographer but, here they are: some pictures of the Supra on Forza 4 (at Dunsfold Aerodrome, a.k.a. Top Gear Test Track), including one "BigShot" for you to appreciate some extra details.

I´prefer GT5´s Supra. It looks closer to the real thing for some strange reason. I also like the front Spoiler that GT5´s Supra has. If it looks better than Forza´s Supra, imagine how would it look as Premium. Still, Forza´s Supra looks better than other Supras I´ve seen in other games. And for some reason, Red cars look strange in Forza.

Told you I'm not the greatest photographer around... Messed up a bit with the colors and, now, it looks a bit better. ImageShack also screws with compression and color a bit. Must find a better (and free) image hosting.

Tried some 1/4-mile drag racing on free play and almost lost... to a freakin' TAURUS!!! Ok, it's a SHO with AWD and had a nice lead thanks to it, but I reached that thing in the last inches to take victory.

Hmm, it seems Forza is only using textures for some of the details in the headlamps, whilst if the RZ were a premium in GT5, it would use a combination of the textures and some pixel shading effects to give that impression of refraction etc. going on in the lenses.

It's a shame, because Forza's Supra is nice and detailed, but it's less convincing from some angles than the Standard in GT5, especially if the image has been scaled down. No doubt they've improved over FM3, but they still have a way to catch up in overall graphical fidelity.

By the way, they're not "jaggies" around the arches, not in the normal sense anyway; that's due to a low resolution texture that's been heavily filtered. Funnily enough, I can't see a single "jaggy" in that shot. Plenty in the large FM4 shot, though. ;)
(That would be because it hasn't been downscaled like all the others have, although there is a curious lack of anti-aliasing considering it's from the "photo mode"...)

I didn't bother pointing more

Uh, they're not jaggies. They're vertices, and the visible edges of polygons. Jaggies are due to sub-pixel aliasing alone, unless you're interested in confusing people. I can see lots of your kind of jaggies in the Forza shots, too.
They're an inevitability when the screen resolution is far in excess of the effective mesh resolution, i.e. all current and past real-time 3D graphics.

Something about the tail lights always irked me about FM version for some reason.

am I the only one that thinks the car from forza looks too shiny? like it's very game-ish compared to GT that looks more realistic

Forza games have never really had accurate details, whereas GT games (to me) seem to be spot on.

Case in point the R32 Skylines (in Forza 1, 2, 3, 4, 12, 98, 542,354 etc). The front lights look horrible and are way too big. Even GT2 did a better job. :(

Kind of a big brush you're painting with, though, no? An entire game isn't accurate because of one example, when GT5 has the same sort of problems (the NSX tail-light problem, the R8 V10's V8, other detail errors that haven't actually been fixed).

Considering the amount of polygons and low-resolution textures the GT5 car is working with, it looks pretty decent. But where the wing meets the bodywork and the side intake are two areas that really show the model's age. It is, afterall, a decade old.

Hard to image that in ten years we may be saying the same about premium models showing their age. GT and pretty much games in general have come along way fairly quickly.

Yea you hit the nail on the head with that. The Forza model, although it looks very nicely modeled, has something odd besides the super shininess about it I just can't put my finger on. Also I think the taillights look...strange. The GT5 model, while being standard and having terrible textures, is more convincing at looking more realistic in my eyes for some odd reason.`

I think it is the overall look of the game that gives it a more "realistic" look compared to Forzas more "gamey" look.
