Just found out that the frontal lobe of the brain, the one that is responsible for idiot behaviours its not mature until the age of 25 for most of the people and age 25-30y old for the rest of the people. If you used bday gift, backup, save data, up-up, left, bla bla...you are just a cheater, another carebear who forgot to have fun in a beautiful game like this.

it doesnt affect me...i`ve just found out why kids are cheating. :) as for me, im happy :)

It totally destroys trading if the most expensive cars have no value ,it should've been a great addition to GT but people destroyed it in less than a week. :(
 
And I am happy that I do not have to play Indy 205 time at I think 98K each for no real gain in skills or enjoyment to buy a P4....

If it makes you feel better I don't trade for anything.....

Fact of the matter is its not real currency or money, if you feel like it is and you feel ripped off, then really something else you need to worry about.
 
I must be in the minority then. I am under 25, yet have never felt the need to cheat.

Also, I would say that not everyone who is 'cheating' is doing so for the wrong reasons, I assume that some people out there are only doing so because they have overly busy lifestyles, but still want to mess around with a few cars in GT, without having to spend hours saving up for those cars.

However I do mostly agree with your post. This cheating does ruin the game slightly and I would always suggest completing the game yourself if you have the time to do so.

Yes, it does affect other players, as they bring these ''cheated'' cars to the online.

So revise your facts.
 
...and then once you're in your 30s you realize it's just a video game and nothing about it is worth stressing out over.
 
So, any one who uses the exploit is an "idiot" and a "carebear"? How is it not having fun? If someone thinks fun is getting their Ford racer and driving it around Le Mans, then that's what they should do. They might not think grinding away for days to get it is fun.

So, no they aren't idiots, they simply have a different idea of fun. Nice try though.
 
The children cheat so they can be l33t while the rest of us are noobs...obviously. They will run along and play something else once they got bored because they cheated their way through the game

No seriously lol... It won't really affect you. I somewhat understand your frustration but some people don't have the time to play games hours on end like little kids. Even if you don't agree with it your post is certainly just wasting time.

I agree, im under 25, and i have read all these threads talking about "Birthday Glitching" but i've never felt the need to do it.
 
I only use the birthday glitch for cars I (me, no one else) want, like he Mark IV, 330 P4, and XJ-13. No way I'm going to grind years on end to buy all three cars.

I just got a Peugeot 908 from the exploit and I'm keepin' it for myself and bob only. My Miata and Italia might be up for trade on the other hand, as it is "cheated".

I never cut corners with Gran turismo ive played the game since the original came out, theres no challenge if you find other means to get cars etc

Yeah, and those without any driving skills whatsoever who cheat to get the fastest car around and then proceed to gloriously punt you half a mile off the track in the first corner with it aren't idiots either. They simply have a different idea of fun! The best part is that you have nothing to say about it unless you apply double standards or think your word matters more than theirs - which it doesn't.

Cheating sucks. Plain and simple.
 
They left a flawed and incomplete system I wouldn't call it cheating I would just call it understanding how the game works in a more complete manner.
 
A lot of elitist behaviour in here, it's far, far more childish and pathetic than people who want free cars. You guys need to grow up and put your priorities in order, while you may gain a sliver of respect your your ability to play a game as intended by the developer, you'll only lose it all again displaying this kind of attitude.

The game's main focus is on offline (you against yourself and the AI). As for online there is an option called race restrictions to level the playing field. You may be upset that the "cheaters" chose to take the "short cut" to getting some cars rather than spending half of their life taking the honest route. Call us cheaters, and we'll call you cry babies with no social lives.
 
Oh, wait, i`m 2 busy irl to play the game like it was ment to be but then i have 4 hours daily to create accounts and see what bday glitch i will win...and then, if i win what i want i come on forums and scream: "OMG, im a badass mofo, i want to trade my glitched (insert text here) car for some ubber car twice more expansive" I dont have the time to do it but if some1 would make a thread with: "GT-5 Exploiters/Glitchers - List" i`ll help searching for names.

You can thank sony that this crap continues with no punishment.

This sort of thing on Xbox Live would have been the first priority patch and persistant cheaters banned.

For real Microsoft would have been all over this, its almost like Sony enjoyed all the hits it was gettin on its website for new "fake" accounts.
 
The game is there for you to enjoy it anyway you see fit. I personally don't care what people do. As long as when we are racing online you don't find some black hole and come out at the finish line first, I'm straight. Enjoy it anyway you can. It's not cheating unless it is used to gain the upper hand in an online race to me. Which ever car you win, you still have to drive it on the track and a good setup on x car is the ticket. I have seen it too many times when the "favored" car gets shocked by loco with a good setup on his fire breather.
Instead of wasting time labeling and worrying about what our fellow players are doing, get some practice and learn the tracks and your cars. That's the best ammo against any rival.

Put in restrictions to keep out cars you don't want, and kick players that intentionally punt. I don't see how poor sportsmanship online is related to taking advantage of exploits or cheats. They would punt you off course in a VW Beatle, or the X1.
I don't see any double standards here at all. Cheating to get cars you want doesn't make you a poor driver, and being a poor drive doesn't make you cheat to get cars you want. Do some people suck at driving or just want to race dirty online *and* cheat to get cars? Yeah, but not everyone, and as I said dirty racers are going to race dirty in whatever car restrictions you set up in your lobby, so kick them.
 
Your post is a little out of line. Being a teen member myself, I pride on not cheating. If on June 4th next year I get a car, whoopee. I suppose you re-word that or think before you post, because that's clearly false info about the frontal lobe or whatever.
 
Like I said, I don't trade cars, period. So I can't see that side of your frustration. Partly because the way I figured, all the cars are there in your game, its just how you get it. The way I see it, I want a P4, or a GT40 MK IV, or a XJ13, I need 20 million credit to buy one(or in the case of XJ-13, win the Indy 500, which is why I didn't get this car yet). All along the way I need to buy a bunch of other cars, DTM, Super GT, what have you. And it is hard for me to make the credit to buy them. So I can either drive the Indy race 205 times to make 20 million(or 410 times to make 40 million), for which I derive no enjoyment, or does it help me in any way or form to make me a better GT racer. Or I can just exploit their bug and get the car.

Cheaters are those that shortcut or wall-ride or punt in online events. That makes you a cheater because it DOES affect others.

I'm sure I'm wasting my time stating the obvious.

Beliefe it or not, but there are people out there who just enjoy ruining the game for others. This is a serious problem in COD when playing hardcore, it's a problem in SC2 and also in many many other games. Those are just idiots, not because they cheat but because they do what they do. However if you play online you have to get along with them, because you cannot stop them from ruining other's games. If you can't don't blame "cheaters", but stop playing online. By the way, that's the reason I switched from COD to SC2 and now to GT5. I'm looking forward to the next game which is ruined by stupid kids which take advantage of games where the online multiplayer is the main part of the game.

Nearly right there. Only cheating sucks which affect other players. I don't use cars obtained by the birthday feature online and don't trade them in any way. The only way in which they affect you are the cars i buy/win with playing with them.

For this argument I need an assumption first:
Assumption 1: I'm a really bad driver with little practice because I have nearly no time to play the game compared to others.
Assumption 2: I played the game for several month (yes it's only released several weeks ago, but this is an assumption) for maybe 3 hours every week. This assumption only supports 1 and 3.
Assumption 3: I completet the game honestly without any exploits/duping/glichtes/cheats ... and have several cars and now want to start playing online.

So because of assumption 1 this person will definitly punt you once or more and maybe wall-ride because this person is not a good driver and out of practice, you could call such a person a sunday driver.
However in your point of view this person is one of the worst cheaters although this person never cheated.

Don't you see a kind of problem here?
