Don't even bother opening a room today. I've got a 17mbs connection and I still get disconnected. My friends get disconnected too. Sony has crap servers now. Bf3 won't even hold up

Hmmm, ill be trying this evening but they have been bad lately

where's the new thread ace? Sorry i'm no longer hosting rooms, as i have to balance time with the work, uni, and general life lol... I miss the holidays even though they rape my sleep patterns ;)

Its being but up im just trying to get enough footage

I had a right blast last week doing this. The server host was loving my British accent :D

I find the only way to drive the cars properly is to use manual transmission and effectively short shift so the car feels more calm. I was having a very enjoyable cruise in my Initial D AE86 and then I jumped in a few different JDM gem's I have in my garage.

It's very rare to find decent cop and cruise rooms these days. I also don't like the "do x offenses and get kicked" rules, because then you feel pressured not to do anything dary and there's just not much going on. IMO an ideal lobby would be something like drivers that actually enjoy cruising their cars, that speed around occasionally and sometimes run into trouble with the police, they may pull over or get into a pursuit until they get taken out ONCE (not like you crash the hardest of crashes and just reverse and keep driving), then suffer some kind of consequence depending on the severety of the offenses, but never to the point of kick (unless you were to break rules).

I'm guessing you haven't read the rules me and Ace have developed?

Been checking this thread but never posted for some unbeknown reason.

I will join you in this club, all aspects of it sounds awesome and well thought out! Especially with Ace involved! :D

Have a few secret weapons to evade the police and also some police bulletcars if I wish to be a cop instead.

Cannot join today, got a early start.. :(

Looking forward to running with you guys soon! :)

Welcome! And ill direct you to the new thread when its up...

Good luck and hope to see ya soon!

Going to be opening a room soon anyone in?

Is there still a room up? Would it also be alright if I joined in? Sorry to ask so blunt and out of nowhere but I've been following this thread for a few days and seems pretty legit and actually fun.

Thanks for the heads up! What tracks are you guys usually on? Also what about cars? Anything that's street legal will do right? Also, sorry for all the question & thanks again!

Good news, people!
Should be running a UK Laws Cruise Room at some point this weekend.

Stay tuned for further details!

I have a league for this,

Go to clubs and leagues and find AC3S cops and cruising

I do apologize for Bugging an old thread, but I would like to share something I am working on at the current moment;

I am working on a UK Laws Room with some friends of mine. We have not really planned how things shall work yet, but we are trying different things...

We have opened a room for this evening, and would like you to come and offer your suggestions, etc. onto how you think things will work, etc. (also, do come along and cruise to UK Laws with us)!

Room Number: 1472-6681-3115-0606-0447
Track: Special Stage Route X

I have several ideas for the future on some projects I would like to do, and this is currently W.I.P... However, I think it is a good idea that we create good cruise rooms for the Community...

Once again, sorry for bugging an old topic. But I thought it was better than creating another thread for something that may turn out not to succeed...

Thanks,

Jason.

As far as I know SSX is a DLC track and I'm sure that everybody wouldn't have it. Just tip maybe change it to another good cruising track?

I used to frequent cops rooms after I discovered them last summer and found them to be the best thing since Cherry Coke. Of course, that was back in a time where Gran Turismo's online community was vastly larger, and subsequently, cops rooms were far easier to come by. I later realized that I really preferred to just cruise, and I've done so ever since, and have been quite happy with it.
Cops rooms, when done right, can be a hoot. But done wrong, and most of the time they are, they're hell. You could blame douchebag cops that prefer to ram you for being an easy target, or the guy that likes to speed up when you want to overtake him, or kids on mics annoying everyone. But really, I've found it comes to a combination of two things. One, it's the people that make up a room. Unfortunately, the vast majority of Gran Turismo's online community is filled with scumbags that want to go 250 miles per hour, all the time, regardless of where they're at. Then there's the drifters. I get it, drifting can be fun (personally, I don't like it, it's too hard, though just casually sliding around can be fun), but there's always one or two drifters in a room, making it hell for everyone else. I have a friend who frequents my rooms who prefers to drift 90% of the time, and I let her; she doesn't get in the way of others, and she doesn't tell everyone about it. The problem with these drifters is that they're telling everyone that they're drifting, and you're constantly being smacked into walls because they're under the impression that they own the road.
Another issue is the choice of cars amongst online players. 9 in 10 players I encounter in a cops room will be driving a car with more than 600 horsepower, it's guaranteed. Of course, with great power comes great temptation, and 8 out of 9 of these people end up speeding around and being law-breaking hooligans. There's nothing like cruising at the speed limit, only to be rammed by a Lamborghini that was going 250 miles per hour, with a racing exhaust that you heard from a mile away. And usually they speed away, without saying anything. If you call them out on it, they either say "ur gay", "F U", or "🤬 off". :indiff:
The issue isn't just with the people that join the room, because even a room with perfect people abiding the law cannot work if the host is a brain dead moron. The host plays an equal factor in maintaining the quality of the room. Almost all bad cops rooms are bad because the host is either:

  • Afraid of kicking people, and goes to tremendous lengths not to.
  • Doesn't care and lets the room remain poor.
  • Or, they're just not there.

Of course, a host can do all they want to set reasonable rules, enforce the rules, and do away with the people that don't follow the rules, and the room can still be bad, if the people in the room are bad. If you've got a good host, you've got crappy people in the room, and if you've got good people in the room, you've got a crappy host. It's a losing battle for whichever side is in the right, and it's impossible to find a room that has a good group of people and a good host. My advice is to just give up on cops rooms, because there just aren't any good ones anymore. :dunce:

This plus a thousand.
Also, all of these points (especially the ramming bit) are really true if you're in a microcar (Fiat 500 '68, ect. They're the microcars of the game) and somebody is doing that, because you don't just go to the other wall, you go skidding off at 150 miles an hour because you only weigh under 500 kilograms. You are also generally on SHs or less with those too, so a lot less grip than those dang Lambo guys in RS that ram in cops rooms...

A few friends of mine, and occasionally myself, host regular (basically every day) lobbies for cruising on various tracks with absolutely no BS allowed. There's a fairly large group of us (around 6 or 7) who regularly attend and we're all clean, respectable 'cruisers'. People who join and BS are basically immediately kicked and if someone is doing a genuine mistake just worded warning is issued. They're normally very calm and orderly. There's normally a limit on how ridiculous your hacks can be IF you decide to use them and there's often various group laps performed with different orders and leaders. The PSN's if you're interested are -

KiroKai
TheNEWiBrad
ProtoMotors
xSylar625-
BenzFish

Please note, we're all European so if you're on a slower US or other country based connection you may have trouble joining. if you are lagging for many of us you will be asked to leave unfortunately.
If any of the people listed wish to have their names removed, please pm me.

^ 👍

To add a little note, in our regular rooms we do not have cops and racers like it's described in this thread. We rather just want to concentrate on relaxed driving and cruising. :)

I think that they are quite fun but I have to be in the cruising sort of mood. If I'm not I won't let myself on any of those lobbies because I know I'll start trying to set some fastest laps and probably annoy someone by crashing into them. And yeah, I wish there was at least one or two rooms which actually did it correctly instead of people with Dodge Rams ramming people, X2010's/2011's going everywhere unable to control there awful choice of car or people in race cars using both sides of the track and crashing into the traffic going the other way! And I wish that you could only ever really use 500PP cars or less because I think that if you have much more power, your just too tempted to use it and annoy people. But I am a clean respectful driver and only overtake on the straights on those lobbies.

Hey over there, I'm usually also a daily cruiser but I tend to avoid these so-called "cop rooms" due to their bad image while still considering my own experience in these rooms.
Most times you might find me in one of the lobbies of the cruisers mentioned above since I prefer slow & realistic cruises.
As for now I'll be off for another two weeks but I cannot wait to cruise again with you, mate. Oh & thanks for mentioning me :sly:

:)
