GT5 update serious issues.....NB help me

Hi guys

sitting in serious poo atm - ive had to restart all my updates after purchasing a DLC car pack and having a US edition disk with a UK account , SOny wont let me use the pack with no refund.
ive got a new EU edition disk that I bought and had to delete all my updates etc as it wont work over US edition and now im stuck with all the updates - no problem bu it wont install updates past version 1.06.

ive tried doing it hru a proxy server and a friends internet and phoning Sony but cant go any further.(Highly annoyed )

anyone with any info to sort this out .....ill be a happy man to climb into the seat again and play

Would copying a data file from someone else with all the updates work if I copy it over to my ps3 and use my saved game

I got the same problem a while ago. Deleting the data doesn't fix it, I called my internet provider and told my them this issue and they did something there and after a couple minutes it was upgrading just fine after 1.06

thanks matey - also tried that route and didn't help me at all
even went as far as formatting ps3 and trying all over again

prob used about 20gigs of data downloading it

You can't copy game data like a game save. You do know if you try to use someone else's game save that it will wipe the gave save associated to the account (yours)?

You're looking for the XL esition, buy it from Amazon. (like some weird echo going on here...)

Yep, EU content won't work on a US disc. Make sure your disc region and account/store region match.

Yep, it's a completely different disc, so the game save data (which includes your installation and updates) won't recognise it.

This rather sounds like a network issue, rather than anything else.

First steps would be to wire your PS3 to the router, assign it a static IP address and put the PS3's local IP address into the router's DMZ. If this isn't already done, do it. If it is... well, we'll look at second steps after you confirm it.

Except that's a US disc, so it won't get you anywhere at all.

Def is a internet prob - as first 2 updates installed without a hitch

my ps3 has always run off its own cable directly to router - just not sure if its isolated as such and not sure how to go bout doing that - I even went as far as a proxy server which also failed
