I'm very glad they fixed it. That were some very unpleasant weeks online. Now I just hope all the people who quit racing because of this will come back...

I did notice the open lobby being far less crowded in the last few weeks, maybe that's the reason they've changed it back so quickly.

The online traffic was far reduced after 2.10. I really hope to see the others come back and that they aren't too miffed.

One thing that was a good about the 2.10 update was that it has revealed some cars that are still competitive but went under appreciated. I'm keeping a few, like the XKR, in my favourites. I also plan to finish tuning the SL65. That should STILL be a beast.

So, all in all, I think it's worked out ok for the folks that stuck around.

BTW, to SpartanUK whomever you are, I hope your secret source is safe. Folks can lose a career over leaked information like that.

Wow, Devastated, A step taken in wrong the wrong direction, fix with a step back and not a step up, c'mon guy's, stop wasting our time downloading this junk, Its almost enough for me to give up on the game completely,

2.10 was a step in the wrong direction. Backtracking is very much the preferred option until they can take the time to fix the PP system in a way that actually makes it better rather than appending a bunch of changes on 2.10 that might just make it worse.

Very angry indeed, we have had 5 updates in 6 months, the only real change that has worked is the tire wear options menu, otherwise we are always going to have bugs online, its a side affect of people stealing their wi-fi connection from McDonald's,

I wish they would stop wasting our time downloading this stuff, here's an idea PD that would make me a happy customer,

Give us more tracks and cars, and if a "patch" needs to be applied give us a free DLC pack that automatically uploads in to the game for having to suffer through your stupidity!

Agreed, but instead of reverting, actually fix it properly now they know they cocked up,

The game is almost 3 years old..... And this is PD first time doing DLC....

Wouldn't GT5 benefit from a more detailed filter system that would allow you to filter all the mechanical and aero dynamic aspects of the car you choose in an online race including engine size. I'm sure this has been mentioned here before but I really don't understand why PD would not add this option if they wanted to bring other cars into play. The self policing tuning system does not work unless you host a private lobby as people know so why not implement a compulsory filter system that has a sub menu via prohibited tune option or just have whole new menu and call it tune filter. Am I on my own in thinking this would help us enjoy the game more?

Guys i doubt there will be any more addons to this game... this is a 3 year old game...

The last 6 months has given us quite a few changes to the core physics: the tyre grip changes, suspension changes have allowed me and many others to enjoy GT5 a lot more since its now very possible to drive any kind of car without ABS.

In that respect I feel GT5 leapfrogged Forza 4, which is a huge thing, since Forza 4 has received a couple of patches in the first month of the game and afterwards only DLC. We know any changes to the Forza engine will only happen with a new release, whereas PD threw out massive and very beneficial changes to the core of the game as a minor update. Big difference, and a big demonstration of PD offering more than just a couple of shiny new car models every month for the first year, then stopping all work on GT5 (which is the Turn10 philosophy).

This is most likely in the wrong spot, but I took out the IS-F Concept Car for the DTM challenge and its awesome v8 sound was removed and replaced with a sound from the Alfa it seemed. This was pre 2.11 Has one else noticed this?

The physics have had a great makeover in two of those updates. I guess some people aren't happy with free awesome improvements.

If they are going to take the time to do things right, I would rather be playing the game in the meantime under the 2.09 PP regulations than not playing it at all under the 2.10 regulations. Yes, them actually fixing it thoroughly would be better, but this is a lot better than the alternative if they won't do that.

That was awhile ago they changed the sound.

Agreed. And honestly, everyone should be happy that PD continue to make updates/changes to the game 2.3 years after it's release. Any other game developer would have dropped it after 1 year...

I think I'm the only person who was actually happy with the 2.10 update. it made the miata seasonal not impossible, I was saving London for tonight but don't think I'll be able to do it since I fear the car I'm using will be bumped up p beyond the pp limit.

They should have got it right the first time instead of rushing everything to match Forza 3 release date,

I was happy with the first 3 updates made in the first 12 months, when I purchased the game I never intended to go online, hence why I console game, you get the disc, you put it in, no waiting to load new software, grab your desired controller and go,

They should have got it right the first time, 3 years? any other business that took 3 years to develop a product unpaid would be bankrupt,

Agreed, but it is just a game after all, lets face it, it was the best racing game by a slight margin when it came out, now its by far the best on console, but it still feels empty, I was happy with everything prior 2.08,

sure, instead of pouring money into something without return, BUT, R1600, your statment just made me think, that this game is over 2 years old, and potentially next gen consoles at Christmas this year, are we possibly being used as crash test dummies? entirely a possibility,

Now, I'm not the fan that wants everything, I have had every version of GT since GT1, and including those expensive demo disc's called, prologue, concept, etc, and each one felt like a step forward, some by light years, its always been a cutting edge pioneer But other then the visuals and vehicle handling, it feels like a giant step back from GT4,

Could be. But I don't mind being a BETA tester. :)

Not for someone who spent long hours to find a way to cope with previous changes to keep a database up to date, and now sees all this as a big waste of his time :banghead:

Keep hold of it all Milouse. You never know when they'll change their minds again. I don't know why they don't ask you for your input on pp. You must have so much useful data. They could have got it right first time if they had actually tried playing their own game properly. If they had then they might not have taken the 'hit it with a sledgehammer then superglue the pieces back together' approach.

You paid for GT5 on release, any free updates after are just that....free.

To each their own I guess, the updates are hardly an inconvenience.

Actually I pre-ordered it, and I did so for the full game (all the features PD promised). So, I didn't knew how the game would turn out to be, even more so because PD hardly communicates anything.
That caused GTPlanet users to speculate since even before the release, since, as far as I recall, all we had were trailers, screenshots, and a picture of Kaz with the supposed 'features' of GT5 on his back. No further information, so many confused what is the RM option for a livery editor, or as another example, the because the car parts list was so long and had such a small amount of parts, many thought they were unlockables.

The updates aren't a bad thing, obviously, but most of the times they just update to fix bugs caused by previous updates, when those bugs should rarely occur for a full game.

So, yea, IMO, rip off.

Does anyone as well experience issues when trying to update??? It always restarts my ps3 when i try to update!!!!

Well GT5 was released and we payed. But was it finished, no.
2 years after Kaz started to feel that he was coming closer.
If they did a real game then small fixing is natural, but GT5 has had major updates that are more than smaller bugs and adjustments.

Sure if you buy the game today it feels more complete and the way it was meant but then again, this would be like update "1.14" instead if we start counting from correct release.

Anyway, i am glad they do it anyway but its a bit a must today if they want to be premium driving game. Or EA gonna eat them up.

No, because PS3 and 4 are unrelated, just like GT5 and 6 should be unrelated, and using a full release that people payed for and expected to be complete as a beta test is completely ridiculous (but I guess so are paint chips and a level system, so who knows). Not to mention that as far as I know PD isn't actually collecting opinions from any players officially which would make a beta test like this nearly worthless.

It's one thing for PD to add to GT5. Breaking GT5 for the sake of 6 is frankly stupid.
