As for my list it has not yet matched and I have been entering the data for here and will post more of my list towards the end of the week.

I've had another problem with the computer so it may be a while before I get some info here.
When I do the info will be posted here more frequently as I don't want to lose the info.
I'm sure I lost some since my last upload, but it will add to the list just the same. :indiff:

TornadoAlley ,

When compiling my list, I filled a day from bottom right to bottom left, up, bottom right to bottom left and so on.

UCD on screen

----------- -----------
399.6 --------399.5
----------- -----------
399.4 --------399.3
----------- -----------
399.2 --------399.1
----------- -----------
would end up in the sheet like this

399(.1)
399(.2)
399(.3)
399(.4)
399(.5)
399(.6)

It seemed that the contributor before me had followed same scheme and it felt logical to keep the sheet in chronological order. When checking my main account (on day 940) against the sheet, it seemed that some of the entries on the sheet were reversed, like this:

UCD on screen
----------- -----------
399.6 -------- 399.5
----------- -----------
399.4 ------- 399.3
----------- -----------
399.2 ------- 399.1
----------- -----------

sheet

399(.6)
399(.5)
399(.4)
399(.3)
399(.2)
399(.1)

There are also some new offsets in the data, my game day isn't fully matching the sheet any more at day 940. Oddly enough some of the entries are jumping from day to day. Some of this might be explained by combined effect of having one car offset originally and different order of entries within a day.

May I make a suggestion? Please add decimal to day entries in the sheet to indicate the position on the screen.

This is the correct scheme. My first guess that your data isn't matching on your day 940 because Fastas data was not recorded with any order given so all the cars are random within each day. Because of your 1 day offset from Fastas data it adds even more randomness when comparing to his data.

Fastas data also had days with 7 cars entered in which really messes up the master list organization. I've considered completely removing Fastas data from the list but he has so many consecutive days filled in it is useful for finding where people are in the list.

I originally had a column titled master order giving the car order and for all of fastas data I had ???? as the order. Google spreadsheet has a limit on the number of cells and that was starting to give me trouble. I can't think of an easy way to note that the order for Fastas days is unknown.

Yellow Cells: Fastas had 7 cars for that day (which is impossible)
Orange cells: Fastas had 12 cars for that day and skipped the next day (so I don't know which day what cars appeared).

I've not paid enough attention to this thread for a while - I realised early that my short list was entirely within Fastas' much larger one so there was little point in my posting it again. However I just checked out of curiosity to make sure there weren't any blank spots near my list and realised that I'm currently in the orange section of Fastas' data around day 1866. Once I get a little time, hopefully this evening, I'll try to correct that section and the preceding yellow patches.

In theory I could correct the order of cars for days 1648-1868, but I need to think carefully how I can use my format of data to do that without breaking things (and without re-typing it all!)

Try something like what I did in the attachment (using your original 150days list). It gets your format pretty close to what is in the master list.

I also checked your ordering scheme and corrected that to match what is being used in the master list.

I'll post 10 more days in Copy and paste format tonight....Days 1500-1505 finally have some interesting cars....:)

Updated the master list to contain Khaddar's information starting around his day 98 through day 150. This corrects the order of Fastas list around day 130-180 and fixes a couple of days that had seven cars.

Cool. If you're happy with the car names generated that way then I'll upload days 151-223 of my list in a couple of hours. I'd sorted the order out (thank goodness for Excel) but didn't much fancy trying to get exact matches on your list of car names!

It doesn't take me long to get the names corrected if they are close (thank goodness for find/replace).

TornadoAlley - I found this in your file while looking for my day 1 set.

487 Nissan - Fairlady 240ZG (HS30) '71 Crazedmodder 472
487 Mitsubishi - AIRTREK Turbo-R '02 Crazedmodder 472

488 Ford - GT40 Race Car '69 Crazedmodder 473
488 Nissan - SKYLINE HT 2000 Turbo RS (R30) '83 Crazedmodder 473

1612 Nissan - SKYLINE HT 2000 Turbo RS (R30) '83 YouichiHophop 11
1612 Ford - GT40 Race Car '69 YouichiHophop 11
1612 RUF - 3400S '00 YouichiHophop 11

1613 Mitsubishi - AIRTREK Turbo-R '02 YouichiHophop 11
1613 Nissan - Fairlady 240ZG (HS30) '71 YouichiHophop 12

That looks suspiciously like the same master day in reverse order. Not sure why the rest of the list does not work but it is pretty weird that those seven cars are in perfect reverse order.

I've seen some similar instances where things look very close but then fall apart. I don't know what to think about that. I am pretty sure that we are all recording the order using the same method.

As a result of seeing these patterns I'm thinking this list might be so long we will be lucky to find the end of it. Right now it seems to me we have two separate lists going on. One is where people match Fastas data and the other is where people are matching close to crazedmodder/my data.

If we ever see someone cross between those to lists that would be very good news regarding the idea of one master list that will eventually cycle back.

Some more gap fills between Master-day 682 and 770.

Wow - the gap after day 770 grew a lot over the weekend - I thought I was getting close to YouichiHophop's data - guess not :) I'm amazed how this list is growing - now more than 700 blank rows between where I am and 911_RS's data.

Well, TornadoAlley explained to me that the lists don't necessarily correspond. They just put that car list at day 700 so there would be space to enter our data. This means that TornadoAlley will continue to insert cells between our data and YouichiHophop's until we find a day that matches.

TornadoAlley, here is some more copy/paste work for you, hopefully I have made it a little easier for you this time. Sorry about the gap in the data at days 6-8. I also have cars recorded from days 18 and 23, but since I have now joined up with YouichiHophop's data, I fuigured it would be a waste of space to post it. The overlap looks the same except for the TVR:confused:. I dont know how I could have written it wrong, since I didnt have the full list in front of me, but wrote the correct year down for the Speed 12, but YouichiHophop has the Speed 6.

That is exactly what I'm doing. 911_RS day 1 matched up close to crazedmodder's day 8 (2 car shift) and because his last entry is at day 1489 with no matches to the other half of the list I have to assume that it just means that the gap is much bigger than I initially thought.

I will keep inserting more cells as needed between the end of 911_RS's entries and barra333's entries until we find some overlap.

I think we should start a pool regarding just how long we think this list might be (or if it will ever be figured out).

Oh, I thought we were only up to about 7.5 at the moment. Ermm, I suppose someone has to be overly optimistic, so I'll stick with 10 years.

as I mentioned in the other thread, every race you complete now counts as a day instead of the old 1 loading bar = 1 day. So, when you're doing the quick grind, be aware of that.

Relax, I just started a new account to double check my list, and your correct, its a Speed 12. :dunce:

I'm of the opinion that the US/Canadian list (TornadoAlley/crazedmodder) is different from the European list (Famine/Fastas/Youichi).....

Could everyone whose posted info please say where they are ?

I'm in the UK.

It doesn't take me long to get the names corrected if they are close (thank goodness for find/replace).

Attached, finally. Sorry it's later than I said it would be.

I guess you could do a vlookup against your master car name list and then filter for errors to find any differences. If you do decide to do that, let me know what they are and I'll correct them for future submissions.

I think we should start a pool regarding just how long we think this list might be (or if it will ever be figured out).

My personal belief is that it's not a cycle of a specific length. I've suspected from the outset that the list is not stored anywhere on the disc, but that UCD contents are procedurally generated in a pseudo-random way. The fact that we now have something like 2000 days of data reinforces that. What I don't understand however is how the initial seed is both derived from the console/disc and also a valid value within the cycle where the initial seed is different.

Unfortunately, if I'm right, then it's possible that we have two (or more) completely separate cycles which will never overlap, if the initial seed for one is not a valid value in the other. We'd also never be able to prove that.

Did anyone see a UCD cycle writer or something similiar in the GT5 credits? :)
