Oops, I bought 74 cars. :ouch:
I currently have 108 in my garage, including all four varieties of the F2007's (Kimi's #5 and Masa's #6, both in Rosso Scuderia and Rosso Monza skins). Love those beauties!

Personally, I really wish PD adds a paint shop to GT5 so we can own just one model of each car, and simply have it repainted when ever the mood strikes us, rather than have to clutter up our garages in the event we like more than one color choice for a car.

That said, at least in GT5P there is at least one definite advantage to owning multiple copies of the same model car, and that's being able to save more than 3 tuner settings for each model. (although this also means I hope GT5 allows you to save many more tuner settings for each car, rather than just three.)👍

In addition, it appears that more than one source from PD has confirmed that all your cars and credits will transfer over to GT5. This is undoubtedly why PD capped the maximum amount of credits at 2 million (just enough to buy the F2007 car and still limit how much money people can start out GT5 with).

Now if it's true and PD will allow us to transfer over our entire garage from GT5P to GT5, then one way to bring a lot more money than 2 million credits is to fill your garage with as many F2007 as you can and then sell the ones you don't want for 500,000Cr each.

This is also why PD may have limited the number of cars you can have in your garage to 146. Although that is a fairly odd number to choose... it made me think that maybe there was 73 cars in GT5P, and to come up with the max amount allowed in a garage they came up with a number based on double the number of cars in the game... who knows... maybe there are two more cars "hidden" in GT5P somewhere? :)

Any way, technically speaking, assuming it will in deed be possible to transfer your entire garage to GT5, then by filling your garage in GT5P with 146 F2007, after transferring the data to GT5, you could sell them all for 73 million, and if you also had 2 million credits, that would give you a very big starting off budget for GT5. :)

For me personally, it wouldn’t be worth the effort to try and do that, and I like having multiple copies of many of my favorite cars, not just because I like to have options in terms of color choices, but being able to save six or more tuning settings is a definite plus.

Still, each time my account reaches 2 million and I have no other cars I'm interested in buying, I'll be adding another F2007 to my garage, as you might as well spend those credits on something. :D

Here is the next set of stats I have for those interested:

If there are other categories any one is interested, just let me know and I'll see what I can do... and better yet, if anyone already has data for some of these categories compiled, please share that info here. 👍

Doesn't that ruin the whole experience, to start off with like 10,000,000 Cr? I mean, I don't know about all of you, but even though I own Prologue, I might start GT5 from scratch.

Thanks, but besides the fact that same link was already posted three posts above yours, it also only has the basic car specs listed in the showroom menus. It's missing quite a lot of data and has no info, nor any statistics on any of the following:
  • Standard Equipped Tires
  • Engines
  • Lengths
  • Widths
  • Heights
  • Weights (min, max)
  • HP Ratings (min, max)
  • Torque Ratings (min, max)
  • W/P Ratings (min, max)
  • PP Ranking (default, min, max)
  • AI Level Ranking (default, min, max)
I've compiled half of this data, but it takes a lot of time. If this, or some of this has already been done, that would be great to know. 👍

It's about having options. Not everyone has the same idea of what type of experience they want... especially when you factor in things like past experience, amount of time one has to play video games, etc.

The nice thing about having options is for those that want to play a game one way and others a different way, they can all have a great experience based on their personal preference.

That said, in GT4 I can't tell you how many times I started a "new game" for any number of reasons. One reason was to see how few cars I could use to get 100% completion. Another was to see how few numbers of game days I could finish the game in. The last new game I started was for the following challenge:

New Career GT4 Challenge - anyone interested?

This was to try to create a realistic career mode in GT4.

The nice thing about open world games like Gran Turismo and especially GTA, is that there are generally enough options and variety of gameplay to let the individual player decide exactly what type of gaming experience they want... and not only that, but allow each player to chnage their mind and allow them to play the game differently each time they sit down to play.

To me, its games like these that help define "next-gen", as they are not allways forcing everyone to play the exact same way... but this isn't the thread for such discussions. :)

I noticed that, was tired :)

Apologizes :dunce:

Thanks man,
im missing the # 60, 2002 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R V-spec II Nur

LOL...I am not a big AWD guy, but the Skyline Nur was my "go to" car if I was having a hard time winning certain races in GT4. It was also my prime "money maker" when I need parts for other cars. I could hammer out easy wins on quick 2 lap races that had high dollar prize cars I could sell over and over. The Nur was my third highest mileage car behind the Ford GT and it was one of the first cars I bought in GT5. It was a monster with the upgraded turbos in GT4 but is kinda average in GT5 at this point. It's really heavy. I was really hoping I could use it more in this game, but without the upgrades, it has a lot of competition.

Thank you very much for the stats Digital-Nitrate. They will come in very handy as a reference.

As per usual, Digital-Nitrate has come up trumps with a wealth of information in one place. This is getting stickied since it should be easily seen by everyone and should eventually answer a lot of "How many....?" or "What is the ...... of this car?" type questions without the need for a hundred more discussion threads.

 Digital-Nitrate

Thanks Smallhorses... when I get the chance I'll be adding a bunch more info on the cars... I'm discovering some very interesting things. :)

I'm tempted to also attach one of my GT5P spreadsheets for those that want even more data and be able to sort them all and make any adjustments to match their particular needs. The problem right now is it is quite unwieldy. The spreadsheet for just the cars has 552 rows and over a hundred columns of data... and that's just one of over a dozen worksheets...

I can be such a data geek sometimes. :D

I've compiled some data in a spreadsheet during my play that may well be useful for others to expand on...feel free to do with it whatever you like 👍

[EDIT]Hopefully the zip file is fixed now 👍[/EDIT]

For those who are interested, I have compiled a list of all 71 GT5P cars,
with such info as Power, Torque, Weight, Power to Weight Ratio,
Aerodynamics, Performance Points in minimum-base-maximum state,
Drivetrain, Number of speeds, Price, etc.:)
You can change the order of rows by clicking criteria items.
Take a look at http://gt.hobby-site.com/gt5pcars.php.

Note:
The specs are based on JP version and may be different from your version.
Power is represented in ps, not BHP.
PWR is actually Weight-to-Power ratio, which is more often used in Japan.
Price is in JP Cr. Take two zeros away to get US Cr.:sly:

Update: I've added the following stats to the first post:

Code:
51 Cars w/H-Shifters
18 Cars w/Paddle Shifters
 2 Cars w/Sequential Shifters

50 Production Road Cars
15 Tuned Production Road Cars (4 without their original production car already included in the game)
 4 Concept Cars
 2 Race Cars

I've compiled some data in a spreadsheet during my play that may well be useful for others to expand on...feel free to do with it whatever you like 👍

Nice work, I especially like the layout and macro sort buttons. Unfortunately though, the car specs are just the showroom specs, which I assume is why some of the fields are empty. The real specs that effect the cars in-game performance are located in the Quick Tune menu.

For instance, the showroom specs for the Ferrari F430 says it has 483 HP, but the actual stock HP as seen in QT is 496, 13 HP more. Granted, this is not a big deal, and with the exception of the Ferrari F40's showroom spec for weight (which was based on the light weight F40 version, not the heavier North American version - which is what is actually used in the game), the showroom specs for torque and weight are the same in QT.

That said, the specs from the QT menu are ideal, as they fill in almost all the gaps missing from the showroom specs, have the accurate HP specs, and offer many times more data points for each car to better compare each car's actual in-game performance. 👍

Don't get me wrong though, you did a great job with that spread sheet, and I especially like how well it is presented. 👍👍

Great job with this spreadsheet as well, and best of all you used much of the specs from the QT menus. 👍

I also really like that it is web based, how did you do that?

Just to help you fill in some of the gaps, here are the drivetrains for the following cars:
Code:
FR = 1960 Art Morrison Corvette (custom C1)
 MR = 2007 Ferrari F2007
4WD = 2005 Nissan GT-R Proto
FR = 2007 Nissan (Infinity) Skyline Coupe Concept

I've compiled the additional following specs:
  • AI Level (this determines what AI cars will race against that car)
  • Top Speed
  • Acceleration
  • Stopping Power
  • Corning Level
  • Ride Height (mm)
  • Spring Rate
  • Damper
  • Toe (OUT/IN)
  • Camber Angle (+/-)
  • Brake Balance
  • F/R Torque Distribution
  • Max Turning Angle
  • Traction Control
  • ABS
If you want any of these to add to your spreadsheet just let me know. 👍

I am still working on the following specs, but I might not get this finished any time soon. :indiff:

Vehicle Dimensions
  • Wheelbase
  • Length
  • Width
  • Height
Engine Specs
  • Size
  • Type
  • Shape
  • Cyclinders
  • Boost

BTW: Has anyone made a list of the estimated originally equipped tires for each car in GT5P, similar to what PD made in the GT5P in-game manual? If not, I'll post mine.

...snip...

Yeah I knew the figures could be retrieved but I haven't had the motivation to muck around with it. As I said though, if you're feeling keen, feel free to do with the spreadsheet whatever you like :)👍

I am Fahim. My first post. I do not understand this coding system.

I need to know which gear transmission each car has.

So then I can make a booklet and when I drive each car I can drive it the way it should.
I.e F430 = PADDLE SHIFT

GOLF TDI = Classis 6 GEAR SHIFTER

This may not be the right place for this, but I was perusing the Game Guides section to ease the boredom at work, and I noticed that the Audis are listed as Italian cars, rather than German cars.

Could someone help find realistic BRAKE bias for each car? Since all cars are made 5/5 is a standard. Cars should have lover then that.

Hey Digital-Nitrate or anyone else that has the F2007 chassis:

How the hell do I get this, what do I need to complete in the game to get it besides the 2mil credits?(just bought the game it today)

Complete all events (C, B, A, S) to make the F2007 available for sale in the dealership. You still have to have 2mil credits in order to buy it.

Fantastic Job m8, very useful...
For those who cannot download it, try Firefox - it worked for me 👍

Really nice to have the PP's listed. This way you can easily check from the list, what car to use in certain online-events.

Haven't really been tuning cars yet, but I assume that you're able to see the change in powerpoints while tuning the car?

By the way, I registered just yesterday and lurked around a bit, it seems that you're a pretty nice bunch of guys. Very glad to be onboard. ;)
