I would advise anyone using the standard composite cable that came with the PS3 to replace it ASAP with an RGB SCART cable. The difference is amazing on SDTV. Trust me =)

Hi there, is the RGB SCART cable the same thing as "component cable"?? I mean the one with 3 video input (red, blue and green) and the other 2 (red and white) for audio input. There's really a hugh difference between the composite cable (displaying 480i) and the component cable (480p). The screen becomes much colourful and the words are readable! :tup:

The component cable works lil different I think and it's more an american standart that came to replace S-video. RGB scart is the european analogue of component cable, I mean the result picture is overall the same, although I don't know if you can go 576p with RGB scart.
