That was somewhat creepy. I have friends in real life who have called me Getafix. For decades.
I am now officially transparent.
Here's some magic potion. . . .

Very happy to see you guys enjoying the game in here, and the thread quite active with the spirit of competition - must say that smoothbore12 (Piston Ring? :dopey: ) has added a lot to the events since he dropped in - and a surprise entry from the Washing Machine too - obviously more cards being lined up since we still have a few weeks to go - plenty of time to tackle all the events eventually.

SPEED Hunter ( just for the sake of it)

That is the real spirit of this thread - doesn't matter if you are at the top of the leader board - or at the bottom - it's great to see your action in there. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but you're never invisible.

Harry.

Druida :D

What can i say ? Respect to @RMan72 the boogyeman. The time with the bmw it's a blast.

The boogyemans rap ...... can't touche this

So @photonrider ( old Getafix) aka druida i was close on your nickname without even know you .

It 's time for a new approach to the boogyemans possessed ps3

Historic Racer. Ferrari 330 P4, tune by @skeagracing. I had a couple of miscues, 2 with the wall and 1 trying to get around the old Corvette Z06. First time I have had the PS3 on in close to 3 weeks. I do use a couple of aids. ABS4 and SRF4. This is one of my most favorite tracks of all time so I have run thousands of miles on this since GT1. I didn't bash my way through the rest of the field.

@smoothbore12 thank you for the compliment and the video.👍. The 2j has always been a favorite car for that PP range. I might have used it but since I got the main tune for the Ferrari from @skeagracing it has become my favorite 600 PP car in the game. I almost ran the XJ13 because @skeagracing has a great tune for this car too but it takes a little more throttle control than I can get with the DS3. I use the right joystick when I need more precise throttle control and have not completely mastered that yet. I love this track and it doesn't matter at what PP. I have raced on a few "world" tracks but all in the USA. The road course at Charlotte, NC, Roebling Road in Savannah, GA, VIR in Virginia, Summit Point in West Virginia and my favorite Road Atlanta in Braselton, GA north of Atlanta. I drove in the SCCA but not the Pro Version like @skeagracing. No factory backing, no prize money to speak of, mostly just a trophy and a little bragging rights.

Racing in real life for so long goes to your dna ,you can't change that and i see no reason to do so.
As for monaco it was my favorite f1 track since i was a teen , this place was something magic for me, and when i get there 2003 ( the old layout) became spellbound. Everything is close , you walk the track, you see drivers, the hard work on the pits , you smell and breathe f1 like nowhere else.
From the second time ( of the 8 ) always i was in a hotel 5 minutes walk from the casino from tuesday to the next tuesday. Living the hotel always live a small pre paid for the next year race ( 65-70 euros for 2 persons a day was the price ) and i dare to say that i have see everything, from the late night work at the paddocs,to every stand to watch , my favorite? E stand at the end of the tunel ( not here anymore) .
I stop cause i can talk for days for monaco , but @Racin510s we have a common in this one.

Posting just for the hell of it. The Volvo Wagon against 600+ PP cars was out right ludicrous. I managed to stay in 14th place. I had drag race gear set up and still couldn't catch 13th. The car handled great though. The SX4 was the best I ever ran a dirt race which is why I posted it. Seems the only really good race I had was the 330 P4 at Monaco. I have no idea how @ERAZER or @lfm58 got that much speed out of the Volvo.:bowdown:I used every part available and had a whopping 460 HP at 14k weight. It was the first time I truly enjoyed running the GSXR.

@Racin510s ...... just a tip for the 5 minute race: you need a a good car capable to get away at once , you have to hold the field behind you at some point dont let them pass you, then hit the pedal to the metal to get away and be close at the end few sec. before 5 minutes (3-4 sec is enough) ...... see the time at go through . I use the stealth 500 cause its easier to get away and have my time before they catch me.
The volvo race am not doing it cause i have to play the champioship first to unlock it ,also with the buget race i dont like it cause if you use all the available space out of track its easier to go with a low time and its not one or two points...... its almost everywhere and i need to fight with the temptation also . For dirt i have to learn first so i live it for now.

I stuck with monaco and the damn walls trying to be top clocker( targeting the 19 ) and somehow paid off

@Racin510s the smart usage of nitro is fundamental for this challenge by Volvo...

629PP Ford Mark 1V. P1 2J Chaparral. Tune by me. No aids. Clean race other than the 2J spend the last 2 laps trying to spin me out. After I passed the J2 it went faster . Pass for the win over the 2J on lap 3 just before the Portier corner. Fast lap 1:28.706. Winning margin over the 2J Chaparral 00.175. Total time 6:25.201.

@skeagracing tv,live coverage from historic monte carlo.
How the ...... do you upload the replays from the ps3 ? And in that quality?

Note

Where you see ....... fill it by choice.
I film the replay on my JVC video camera using a tripod in front of the TV. I then take the memory chip out of the camera. I take the recorded chip from the camera and insert it into a thumb drive that has a side pod were you can insert the chip. I then insert the thumb drive into my computer and upload the replay. I then go to YouTube and upload the replay from my computer and from there to the forum. As far as the quality of the video I spent many months working out all the problems associated with tint, contrast, hue, and many other settings to get to where the videos are today. I would go into it deeper but I would have to know a lot more about what video camera you are going to use?? You want a camera that will film in High definition 1080p HD. I hope this helps.:gtpflag:

@skeagracing thanks for your help for the vids..... i can' t do it anyway, no camera, no laptop and no rush from the otherside.
Watching tv with my Maria 2 days a go...... had the idea to put my bob work for me and take the champipnship to unlock the GT 500 and during the commercials i realize that he did a good job .
So i try the safety marshal yesterday and today .
Damn its interesting but am little confused about where to use the nitro for best result.

At least i try it Safety marshal.

Thanks @smoothbore12 for the info. I didn't realize that NOS was allowed. Now the higher placed @ERAZER and @lfm58. I did my own tune but never could get beyond my 14th place started. Now that I know I can use NOS I'll try it again and see if I can get beyond 14th place.
Shalom,
Racin510s

PS: Never knew that NOS was available and that changed to whole race. I would like to use it but not sure what the settings do. I'll post another if NSO really makes that much diffenter.

I do not use nitro but the best time to use it is on any straightaway when you are trying to pass another race car.
