There one at a local game shop for $108, it is a Slim line. I have the original version, I just need to find out if I can swap the hard drives over as I put a 500GB one in mine.

I'm going to lose my game data.:ill:

Is there anyway that you can put a thumb drive to it and see if you can download the data even with the bad board? I’m just being hopeful that it would be worth a try because I feel sorry bad for you. I can only begin to imagine if this would have happened to me. A few month ago @Racin510s suggested that I do that and I did just in case. There is a slim chance that the memory part of the board is still able to be in good shape for that operation.

The YOLD it can be fix also the disc can change to another ps3 .
Perhaps there is a way to save your game data .
Some stores do almost everything to a damaged ps3 .
Hope to end with a smile on your face and soon. @bjl23 :gtpflag:

It won't turn on at all, so I can't download the save game data. I did save the data to one a long time ago when I changed hard drives, I'm hoping it's still on it. I've got a lot more cars since then but at least all the races are done.
@smoothbore12 I saw that it can be fixed. It's cheaper to buy a another ps3 than to get it repaired though. And it's still not guaranteed to last.

I was thinking if someone could send me a copy of there save game data it would save me a lot of time, not sure if I could start the game all over again.

YLOD can be fixed, but the methods are very scetchy, I mean they talk about re-soldering stuff on the CPU, wich is just doomed to fail. miniature soldering like that can only be done by machine really. I'd give it a miss TBH.
The game save file is encrypted, and not transferable between accounts, so you will not be able to use someone elses file data.

What I would do is either:

-buy a functioning PS3 wich has the same HDD slot as yours, and just swap HDD and pray the save files transfer over (I think they do).

-buy a defunct PS3 with a fault that is'nt related to the one you have (like a disc reader fail or HDD crash etc), and simply move over over motherboard (+GPU and CPU, and also the PCB) to you existing one. The unit HAVE to be of similar model number. they dont have to be the same exactley, but they should be of the same series. (for example if you have a CECHP01, you could use a CECHC03 or CECHHO3)

The latter one is what I did when my disc reader decided to not read discs anymore. Bought a YLOD PS3 for dirt cheap, and swapped readers.

I was thinking if the hard drive will work in another console without needing to be formatted (fingers crossed).

I have the original bulky version, does that mean I can't get a Slim line to swap the HDD.

Also I've seen a repair method where they put the mother board in a oven to melt the solder back together:boggled:

Yes, my point exactly. what are the odds that will work putting it in an owen, like what kind of stupid idea is that?

Yea, I'd say if you have a bulk ps3, then stick to it and pray it works.
CECHP01, CECHC03, and CECHHO3 are all bulk ps3.

@bjl23 - Hope you get this fixed soon - as you can see all - all sorts of options to work around it. I was looking forward to handing you the reins of the GT B-SPEC HUB soon as you had done so much work on it from the inception - and with continued interest by PD shown in AI Leagues, etc. the B-Spec Hub is bound to interest many a player, both Career and Sport.
A lot of good advice above to look into - and don't worry about making money and getting cars again - it's just a case of levelling up if you have to so that you can take part in multi-class events.

I find a guy who has one for sale, who live only 15 minutes away.

It's more the leveling up like you say, I'm not to worried about the cars Ill buy them as we go along.
I hope I can swap the hard drives over as there is about 200 baby photos on it.

Players please note:

Due to the amount of events, and to accommodate those drivers who do not have much time to devote to the game (though wanting to compete in as many events as possible) the date for the end of submissions for all entries has been extended by a week.
New date is: Midnight BST May 5th 2018.
This will enable everybody to have a shot at as many events as possible.

New events have been added to the OP.

It would be helpful if all those participating in TOP CLOCKER calculate and furnish the time difference with their entries; this will ensure a double-check.

Thanks to all for the ongoing interest and enjoyment of the game.

A work mate is lending me his ps3 to do a hard drive swap to see if it works before go and buy another one, and he said I can use it as long as I want.
Such a good bloke.
Hopefully I won't be out to long:)

@lfm58 starts impressive as usual

There's only one way I picture Luca now and it is this way. Makes me laugh every time he posts a leader board that blows everything out of the arena.

Lot of rumors for @skeagracing and his unbeatable secret project

From what I've heard - driving schools from all over the world are bidding for his services but he's busy working on a 'rinse & repeat' turbo button and a tachyonic vacuum dryer. I've heard that he only got to know about the HUB recently and is now on the way to take everybody to the cleaners after having done that for years in now control's Seasonal threads.
:scared:

And last but not least @bjl23 or B. Lee ready for serious action

Looks like Bruce karate-chopped the PS3 after some odd leader board - but is not admitting it.
Hope he kata another one soon.

Nice job!
That's going to need sheer magic to beat - but I've seen some eye-boggling things happen in here when it comes to GT6 drivers and 'anything can happen' is a phrase often used.
Very smart to take advantage of the fact that it is a Non-Vic Reign Rights event; win this and you'll have a third title under your belt which would make you a Licenced GT Hunter ( 3 titles or more ) qualified to take part in special Vic Reign Rights 'limited spec' events (comfort tires, stock cars, etc.)
There will be some scheduled next round - so make a run for those titles and prove your mettle (as well as your seriousness about competing honourably.)
Asking @skeagracing to send me a " good " tune from his garage ........
He send me this !!!!!
Although he forget to send me the downforce settings and if it has intake tuning or not......
Can' t much the same pp.

Seems to be a work in progress ……

Last Round Winners - Please note:

Send me a separate PM - titled 'Prizewinner ' - to work out details about receiving your prizes:

@ERAZER - First Prize - Cdn $25.00 credit card
@RMan72 - One Year's Premium membership to GTPlanet (transferable.)
@lfm58 - Six-pack of Hot Wheels Camaros

Congratulations!

That's two-in-a-row for ERAZER at swiping First Prize in a nowcontrol Seasonal Event, remaining unbeatable in that series.
I'm quite bemused by Luca's prowess at collecting Hot Wheels . . . in hand-picked bunches.

Well I tried the hard drive swap, no luck:mad:.
So I've started again on my mates console as he said I can have it as long as I want.
I just got the international B license. Not bad for only 3 hours of gaming I think.

@bjl23 can' t find the courage button , so i just wish for what you start.

@sceagrasing ....... your laudry detergent is second to none !!!

I try the falken thing ( no Mc inside ) and end up 4 :banghead: don't know if i can make it this year.
I think am better with the jewerly stuff , clocks, earings ,bracelets, etc.

Edit
Using a 2j at 649pp for this and after few attempts ,trying to find rythm ,avoid the barriers ,avoid the AI ...... oh man thats so horny , almost pornografic i can say.
The best part when you take the S after the tunel right.
Nothing compare with the satisfaction to have clean laps in this one.
