I'm tired of seeing thread on GT6, this is a GT5 forum, anyway not a mod but I had to rant :P

The thread title says GT6 so if you are tired of seeing them then do not click on them simple as that. Not one to be cheeky but why post on this thread if you "tired of seeing these threads" .

Gran Tursimo isn't a Role Playing Game.

Wasnt I clear enough ? I said I had to rant ! This is the 2nd and last time I posted something on a gt6 thread, dont worry.
Why posting on it ? Because I'm bored obviously and I wanted to say that those thread sucks at least once.

But GT is a "Driving Simulator", not some "Racing Simulator". This is why Kaz said he wanted to see free roam in his dream game, it can be based like a RPG driving simulator. He must make the hole game a free roam fundom with online or offline, based like the interfaces from GT1, GT2, GT3, and GT4. Just don't make it traffic laws, making it something like a race track with stations in it or something like that to participate in events, visiting shops to customize your cars, and even going to do license tests. :sly:

I'm badly wanting to see free roam in GT6, pleeeeeease, it'll be something new for it the series. :D If not then it's okay, I'm with that. 👍

P.S. Make sure the old tracks from the old GT's are back in GT6 Kaz, including Special Stage Route 11, Red Rock Valley Raceway, and Rome Night. :)

Free roam mode would be awesome for taking out cars that you don't ever race, but you still have cause they are rarer or look neat. Then the people thatblike to show off their cars every once in a while will be able to do that without being limited to free run mode on a race track.

As a driving simulator, even an abandoned city would be fun to cruise around in. Don't even mention tdu2 or nfs as an alternative if someone wants to do this, because those games are rubbish.

You have it backwards. Gran Turismo is a "Racing Simulator", not a "Driving Simulator". This game is about competition, not getting from point A to point B and obeying traffic laws.

Personally, free roam belong in games like Driver.

^ Exactly. :D And + the X12010 and X12011 and soon a X12012 maybe, are only meant for events, not free roam. So that means it's only "event and practise mode only" drivable if possible. :) Or make it super hard to get. :trouble:

EDIT
"You have it backwards. Gran Turismo is a "Racing Simulator", not a "Driving Simulator"."
Then why does it say "The Real Driving simulator" in it's name hmmm?

PD's intent by call Gran Turismo "The Real Driving Simulator" implies racing not just cruising around doing the speed limit. There is not one event in this game where you are rewarded for obeying a speed limit.

You don't have to obey the speed limit, because it'll be on a race track like road. I think you're thinking of a city when I clearly said "Race Track with stations in it."

To know what it implies, you must be part of the developement team...

Who cares if there is no obey the speed limit event, doesn't mean anything. It especially doesn't mean that this feature can't at least be discussed.

I'm so sick of people getting upset at possible features, because they feel they are the decision maker on whether the feature belongs or not. Let the people that want to see this game expand on its features, discuss it without useless posts talking down on the idea or even the people that would enjoy it.

It's like people are scared to have new exciting features, to me that is daft.

Lastly, the addition of such a feature should only be implemented as long as it does not harm any of the current gameplay features, which I'm sure it would not. Bugs and glitches would still get the attention they need, but we shouldn't be stuck with the same features oveer and over again because of some closed-minded people that only want to race.

I'll try some of the logic used to deny this feature. "If you only want a race simulator and nothing else, then go play iracing or rfactor, cause this is a DRIVING simulator".

Dyno: go to your car specs and look at the HP/TQ ratings, or drag race somebody if you want to know how fast your whip is in comparison to some other models/tunes
Mechanic: visit GT Auto and rebuild your engine or chassis or buy an aero kit
Aftermarket Exhaust: visit the Tune shop
Talk to friends: race online/invite friends or just give them a call while you are racing (mobile phones still work while you're racing online) or like you said, go to Playstation HOME
Traffic laws (red light example): there are cruising/cops rooms all the time online. Of course, as someone else suggested you could just get in your car and drive, and don't speed or tailgate or do anything else dangerous or illegal. This might cost more but the experience is very realistic :P
I am convinced that eventually there will be a game or application or virtual experience like the one you describe in your not-wishlist wish list. Look how far this gaming and computing technology has come in such a short time, look how much more accepted is the idea of gaming and simulation/fantasy computer games and consoles... look how much more the PS3 does besides play games and movies. Just be patient... in the meantime, have some fun.

I'm so glad someone agrees with this fantastic feature for GT6. :) It'll make it super fun for the young and old to discover the love for cars don't you think? :D

After the long endurance race, it's always great to relax at the PA with you're friends. 👍 I can almost see it now. :gtpflag: Hope to see pictures of GTPlanet in it aswell.

You don't need to be a developer to figure out that racing is the intent of the game.

You're right, the kubelwaggen is a great example of what you are trying to say also. Which is only in the game because of it's hardcore race herritage...

Us that likes or love this feature are helping to make GT6 a one of a kind simulator ever. With the livery editor maybe coming to GT6, will also be perfect with this feature. But with also the love for cars will surely make it more of a ultimate and fun simulator. Wouldn't you agree?

I will agree that there are plently of pointless cars in them game. But there was a race event, I can't exactly remember when, but the Kubelwagen was used.

I'm not trying to come off as being difficult or negative. You guys can wish for anything you want, I'm just voicing my opinion.

I think if PD were to go off in a different direction with Gran Turismo it would loose a lot of us long time racing fans.

Oh. Okay. :( I thought it'll be a great feature for everyone to enjoy... I guess a mode would be fine too won't it?

Uhm, then why do they call it "The real driving simulator"?

I personally would love a open world in GT6, a big city where you can drive around. You have to follow speed limits, if you are too fast you'll get arrested by cops & have to pay with your credits. The same when you crash your car or other cars, you have to pay. :D

You can visit all tracks, just by booking a flight from your home screen. Then you have to race online to get more cash. With the cash you can buy more cars, and a house. More money = bigger house & a bigger garage for more cars. You can visit your garage, like a big show room, walk around and just cream yourself by looking at the beauties. :sly:

Then when you are tired, just pick one and cruse around in the city. Hang around at the tuning shop, get some upgrades. Maybe a tuning shop where you can get new decals, created by the players. If you buy one, they'll get ingame cash for it. If you are good, the business is running by itself. :)

Or just hang around in your home (house), watching GT5 TV, online seasonal replays, one of your stored replays or current live online races, shared replay from your friends, on your big flat screen. Well, I guess that's something we'll never see, but it would be a real dream.

Crusing around in a Open world + GT physics & a night/day system, gsus. Maybe in GT6, let's pray. :D:tup:

Because having a free roam mode, in addition to what is already there, would ruin the racing events experience? I guess I fail to see your logic...

Exactly my point TokoTurismo I dont think anyone has seen the wording on the front of the GT5 case so heres a pic.

Many people are saying if they wanted to drive and obey laws whatever, they can just go out in there cars and drive. Well not everyone has a driving licence and this would be suited for those who cant drive in the real world.

And once again this is not a wishlist! merely an idea which I thought I would share with this community to get everyone talking.

I never said that free roam would ruin the game, I just don't see the point in it.

When I play a racing game, it's because I want to race.

If I want to follow traffic laws, I'll go outside, get in my car, and drive around.

This is true. Let's ficus on changing the course creator :sly:
But I don't understand why everyone is putting down his idea. Let him dream ;)

Hangingout with our friends or meeting new people. Driving all over the place visiting stations or areas, even car parks. If someone tries to hit you, they'll go through you to prevent any collisions or contacts. And all sorts of stuff you can do in free roam. All hardcore players can also take breaks cruising around aswell from all that long and tough racing. + If theres ever an update or GT news stations by Kaz and PD, we can rushly race over there to check things out. 👍 It'll be the fun "Driving Simulator experience" ever. :) This could also keep stress down too listening to your favorite custom music like chill music, rock music, and other musics.

Note: This isn't a wish list, this is sharing our thoughts. Like MugoGTR wrote. ;)

Just so you know, pretty much all GT6 threads have been locked in the past.

Which is honestly pretty sad. It's been more or less announced, and Kaz mentioned it even before GT5 came out. Yet GT6 is like the 13th floor of a hotel until... when? Until an overhyped press release appears for all the magazines to shout about?

Speaking of which, I would love free roam, just not in the way he describes. Environments modelled on existing Course Creator environments, etc. Would go great with a livery editor and a lightrack mod (which PD could slip past the manufacturers by saying it's for the users to make their own pace cars - LOL - or that cars in lower-level sanctioned racing occasionally have them). It wouldn't work well in GT5, or probably on the PS3 at all - a thing like that would be pretty empty with a maximum of 16 players per room.
