But PS3 can be whole another story, because they can implement something like MLAA, or drop resolution to 720p. (my dream) But I doubt it... 5 Prologue graphics was perfect IMO.

That's true, MLAA would make an entirely diferent history for the game... I don't know why PD haven't use it, maybe for memory issues or time for implement it after all that was done and ready in Prologue.

720p would be great too, but this one i doubt it the same way, PD wouldn't do that... they are too arrogant for this...

They have to open their eyes... Turn10 apparently is learning on how to make graphics...

The PS3, no, better still, the G70 in the PS3 can't do MLAA.

I would prefer that they keep 5 alive on PS3 with updates and stuff, then release 6 for PS4.

This would be the smartest. GT6 on PS3 would just be GT5 without having to have as many updates. Then we would have to wait for almost a decade for 7. To hell with that.

Unless they have managed to optimise the hell out of the programming, id say it'd be a ps4 release. Gt5 was released to late into the lifecycle of the ps3 to really warrant another one on ps3.

Quoting from PS4playstation4.com, which is not the first place I've seen this line of thought.

It's possible that how the PlayStation 3 fares in the current console war may also determine the release date of the PS4, for a couple of reasons. If the system continues to flounder in 3rd place in the console wars, failing to generate the revenue which was initially expected of it, Sony may be far more eager to cut their losses and rush the PS4 to market sooner rather than later, possibly as early as late 2011.

Furthurmore, the trend is the FIRST next gen console to come to market is the one that WILL dominate market share.

Give that, it may not release exactly with the PS4 but GT6 WILL be a PS4 game.

That is 🤬, the Wii U is out, 3DS and the Vita is coming. The battle for X360 and PS3 is not over and releasing the PS4 is a very, very stupid move. I don't know what you might think, but the PS3 is on it's peak. Remember the 8 year PS2 domination?

Wow, that is a horrible article. The PS4 will release late 2011? Umm, it's the middle of November, when are they going to announce and release a new console in the next month and a half?

"If the PS3 continues to flounder in 3rd place." That makes it sound as if the PS3 is doing poorly. It's not, it's selling quite well in fact, and if I remember correctly it is the top selling console worldwide each month. And 1.5 million behind the seond highest seller this gen isn't exactly a huge gap.

And last, "the trend is the first next gen console to come to market is the one that will dominate the market share." Lost me there too, because the Wii was the third and last console to release for the current gen and it is the top seller overall. Where is the trend they are speaking of.

Edit: Okay, I see now that article was originally written a while ago, but the last point still stands.

Just look at the domain name the article is hosted on. That entire site is keyword rich to try and give the owner some kind of boss advertising revenue when the PS4 eventually is released. He can talk rubbish all day long and the only thing it does is misinform people but give him good search engine placement in the long term.

Unless they can remove most of the Aliasing in GT6 , but keep the graphics as good as GT5 on the PS3 I hope they release it on the PS4 with decent anti aliasing.

I really hope PD are working on a GT title for the PS4. If they start this soon, maybe they will be able to release it on its launch?

.... cos they missed the last one by a few years!! IIRC GT5 was supposed to be a lunch title for the PS3.

My guess is that the OP's right and GT6 will be on the PS4, they'll beep GT5 going with DLC etc.

It missed it by a few years because PD decided to do too much with the PS3 with GT5. They work on it like it's the last GT for the generation trying to optimize everything. My guess is that they didn't get good feeback from the fans with GTHD and their "micro-transaction" thing, or we as fans demanded so MANY features like dynamic weather and such that they're wanting to go the route they did with GT5.

However, in the end, it was a good learning process for the team. If they can manage to execute ridiculous advanced features like dynamic weather and time with the PS3's minuscule RAM, imagine what they can do with more power? It'll just make everything easier from here and on. The only problem remaining is if they can speed up the process on the modeling of cars and tracks since they're probably the most time consuming tasks.

I completely missed this thread before, I just read through all pages and now I feel like a dumbo having wrote a ton of the same points people have made here in the other thread "KY confirms development on GT6". Oh well, at least I know I'm not the only one with this PS4 dream... lol. Of course I voted GT6 AT PS4 release or within the first HALF year, then 3-4 years down the road, when the optimum coding for the system has been fully understood, they can squeeze every bit of horsepower out of it for GT7.

There is a lot to consider. First of all, I don´t see why PD would scrap all the hard work they put into GT5´s engine and start all over in a new console. Not only does PD use a different engine in new consoles, but it would take them too much time to work on a GT6 title for a PS4. Given the capabilities that the PS4 might have, and knowing how perfectionists PD staff is, they would want to push the new console to its limits by creating the most realistic cars in any game. THat would probably mean that they will take twice the time to create a GT6 car in a new console.

We all know gT5 takes the PS3 RAM to its limits, but that doesn´t mean a new game for the PS3 will be harder on it. As a matter of fact, it could be a lighter game. Graphics: the wouldn´t nedd to improve them. they are perfect how they are. Sound: Sound is good, they only need to match sound samples a little bit better. Physics: They arlready have the best physics. Car list: Just because GT5 has 1000 cars, it doesn´t mean GT6 should have more. Quality vs. quantity. They could in fact get rid of 400 cars and make a bigger version of what they did in GT2, where all manufacturers had a good number of their best cars. A list with around 600 cars where the majority of manufacturers have at least 15 to 20 cars would make it a more enjoyable game. That would leave much more space for new things. B-Spec could go away or they could implement it like they did in GT4, leaving even more space for new useful features like more customization parts, RM mods and a deeper A-Spec mode. More tracks and such.

So even though everything points to GT6 being released in the PS4, I think it would be more logic to do it in the PS3, instead of working on updates for GT5, since that could eventually leave nothing for a new game.

I wish to see GT6 for the PS3, not only because it would be a pain getting a PS4 for most people, but mostly becasue a PS4 GT6 will suffer for many and more things that GT5 suffers from right now. And we will be in the same possition with people flaming PD for making an incomplete game.

This!👍

I'm certain 6 will be on the ps4, I think PD will sell a tt2 for ps3 along with dlc for both games, but I seriously doubt that gt6 will be a ps4 launch title.

They will publish a gt6: prologue, which is a good console seller, good money spinner and will buy them time, which they will take.

Dude, this is totally not how it works when moving up to a new system with higher spec hardware. The entire engine of GT5 does not need to be redone to run on PS4, the content doesn't need redesigned, it's essentially all future proofed until PS5 (forgive me for mentioning PS5).

It's like the standard cars where brought to PS3 and some original tracks were upgraded. They simply CHOSE to develop a new physics engine from scratch, 'cause obviously they saw some flaws with the old which they couldn't improve anymore. They probably went with something that has twice as many variables. Also you talk about removing this to get that, that gives you nothing in the way of improved gameplay. Doesn't matter if there's 100 or 1000 cars or tracks, if they remove B-spec or other features. It's already so incredible what they achieved on PS3, don't expect anything noticeably better in the event of a PS3 GT6 release.

Of course they could do a GT6 with complete different features, but something tells me people like yourself would get tired of the new game just as fast as you're apparently tired of GT5, which is something PD can never prevent. Question is, what's in it for them? Say, they release GT6 next year around this time, they will not sell another 6+ million copies on a system which will be overtaken 1 year later. I'm positive a Spec III will emerge sometime next year to give the game a bit of a facelift again, and the 2 month interval DLC promise, to me, is a serious hint that the game will be supported until a firm release date has been set for GT6.

Also, being stubborn about PD's history of delays or making an "incomplete" game is not a good way of looking at a company that puts their heart and soul into trying the best they can (for it's small ~150 staff team). We all hope they have learned things along the way, you can never judge when you don't know some of the difficulties they've faced in their development phases.

GT5 has only been out for a year, this isn't Madden. I don't understand why all at once everyone is geeking about GT6 or the PS4.

GT5 is already killing the ps3. No point in making a new brand GT game for the ps3 again.

Save the new magic for a brand new console with more horsepower.

You have a good point, but let me tell you that you´re wrong when asuming I´m bored with the game. You have no idea how much of a car enthusiast I am, how much I love the GT franchise and for how long I play my games. Until last year, I was still playing GT4. I´m not a COD player that trows away a game when the next one comes out a week after.

Notice I used quotes when saying "incomplete" as I didn´t want it to sound like I was accusing PD. I would literally put my hands on the fire for PD and I understand perfectly how a company like theirs work. So please think it twice before coming up with such a patronizing reply. You´re not talking to another 18 year old kid. You could´ve just send me note or asking what was my true point of view towards Gran Turismo. If you couldn´t understand the impartiality of my comment, then my appologies. English s not my first language.

Great post man. 👍

You guys are saying like GT6, if it was released for the PS3, that it wouldn't be a very good game, and that it wouldn't last a good 1.5 to 2 years, like most of the GT games in the past. In those two years we're playing GT6, we can be waiting for the next GT on the PS4 at the same time. Heck, it might even be quicker if we all agree that the PS4 will be an easy system for developers to build upon, due to the similarities from the PS3.

For those that are financially limited, the two years can also be used to save up, if they can't afford the PS4 at launch. That is, if you can even find one at launch.

GT5 has only been out for a year, this isn't Madden. I don't understand why all at once everyone is geeking about GT6 or the PS4.

I think the talk is more about what platform GT6 should be releasing on, not so much that people want GT6 now. Plus, there have been plenty of talks about next gen coming as soon as 2013, and even 2012.

C'mon on man you don't have to act like a child which you where bragging about in the other post how grown you are. He made many good point. The part he commented about calling GT5 incomplete was a big miss understanding on both of you guys part. You should really chill out way to defense to be on this board.

No, man. I´m fine. I´m not mad at all:) It´s just miss understanding on both ends like you said.

That´s the only thing I don´t like about forums, the fact that you can´t really see people and just asume how their atttitude is. Peace, bro:tup:

No doubt I actually like your post and agree with you in many threads, I can understand the confusion, even in your post with the incompleteness I understood what you where saying no hard feelings. 👍

If it is on PS4, I hope it's a good while after release. It'll take me a while to get the new console, and then there's preorder content - if the game came out at launch I would probably miss that.

Alright, I appreciate that you're big fan of the GT series and that you're not some 18 year old kid playing games without appreciation. I must admit this post strikes me as a little ironic, because it's not the first time I've read your wishes, the only thing I gather is that you're unhappy with what we have, but just because I've made some comments challanging your views, you come out with complete opposite post saying I should PM you to ask you for your true view of GT. :indiff:

It's true what Jdmking said that it's a bit of a misunderstanding that my points were a personal attack, it was more of a generalization of all people having having these "wishlist" type posts regarding what GT6 should be. If you look at my posts, you won't really find any specific wishes of what I want in GT6, all I want is the game as it is to run like a champ in full HD, the rest I have faith in Kaz to deliver his own vision (although it'd be nice to include some of the most asked for features/content) I'm just hoping for a nice step ahead for the GT franchise, because I'm a huge fan(boy) too and just want to see them push the limits and be the clear winner over Forza for the next gen consoles...

Anyway I'm glad you're enjoying GT5, good to know! Your english language skills are excellent btw 👍 same for me, also my second language.
