I’m famous in a Sammy Snake video 😂😂

He asked for some bad driving videos and I sent him one where I got bullied for 8 laps of CGV last time we were there (maybe this is why I didn’t fancy it this time, too much PTSD). Funny video though.

Saw this. Apart from the shocking driving standards by that one driver, it was also hilarious with Sam's commentary.

I'm with Art3mis, the Xbow needs more grip. There's a horrible disconnect between the front and rear axels, like it's two different cars. Relentless under on entry, oversteer FOLLOWED by understeer on exit as the car crabs it's way through corners. I might bail and move to TM because I am just not enjoying the Xbow at all, really strange behaviour.

Woah...........that's early! Next week's dailies' reveal already here (Courteousy - GTStats.Live on X):

Am gonna dig Race C with Gr.4 machinery trundling around Tokyo.

Its Gr3 this week in B so most likely will be Gr4 in B next week?

The pattern got a little shuffled this week by making Race C a Gr. 2 event. Tokyo (Race C) next week will be Race C with Gr.3 at RBR in a Race B event.

We just had Gr3 RBR though, feels like maybe 2 months ago.

RBR is one of the most recycled circuits. Gr. 3 out there will be as much as fun as it's this week at Trial Mountain. However, I'm biased towards Gr. 4 class in general + Tokyo will make it a thriller of a week for me.

According to the image in the post it's Gr3 - C is Gr4

I think that's a guess though as they have a little 90% underneath it?

I hope it is Gr3 though as I like the WRX round there.

Just two days and I'll be off duty for two weeks... Finally. Next week it'll be Tokyo (mainly) and Penalty Ring since Monday 9 am. Which is the fastest Gr4 on straights? Supra or NSX? Please don't tell me the Atenza, btw.

The Corvette C7 is a good shout-out too. It's a FR & I love this car along with my absolute favorite Gr.4 car - SLS AMG which is a FR too. C7 has amazing acceleration & top speed which the SLS has too but is a little slower in acceleration.

Supra will be the meta for sure. As always, I avoid the meta cars & I know I'm going to enjoy FR cars a lot at Tokyo.

I dunno if I have lost some mojo or what but man, I feel like I am driving on ice, zero confidence on the throttle. The Fuji TT, the X-bow and even the usually very safe 911, I am constantly turning cars around. I hit TM last night, had decent pace but lost the 911 three times in two races exiting the final turn and that's with TC1. As soon as i let up on the throttle and try to be a little more careful, I get absolutely smoked on exit.

Managed a 53.2, optimal 52.9 so not too bad but just so inconsistent. I was also locking the rears like crazy but setting BB to -1 helped a lot.

A player cum friend who I race with in the dailies said it well. Race B is basically a 'Porsche Cup'. No doubt, it's the meta but this car will be a meta always because of the well rounded behavior to make it a suitable car to race with.

As I always aim for a top 5 finish because of driving any other car than a meta car, I'm happy with the cars I choose (AMG GT3, RCZ & the F-Type) as racing with a FR car feels satisfying. Since this is Race B, I'm only racing with my alt a/c as my main a/c with DR A, I want to keep it protected from a DR fall. Even with my alt a/c, I'm as good as touching DR A too.

I was wondering if the track temps were cool for the latest Gr3 hard tyre races. Was a struggle to get any heat in the 458 tyres round Brands last week.

Used to be able to see the temperatures but I can't say I've noticed them recently 🤔

It’s late afternoon but it appears the time isn’t set 1to1, I only did a couple of sessions the fastest lap was 3 possibly 4 but weirdly grip dropped off after that quite aggressively for me.

@NevilleNobody it’s honestly annoying but if you are losing the rear brake a fraction earlier and come off them earlier, it’s a bit awkward but it’s a good technique to chase the ghosts with.

might have been a bit rusty after 3 weeks off!

Popped a few laps in quali on the alt and jumped in a race and had to quit after a lap and half as didn’t want to ruin anyone else race 🤦‍♂️😟

My stats were:

Laps: 1.5
Apex’s hit: 0
Braking markers hit: 2
Cars hit: 4
Places lost: 7

Might be a bit rusty 😂

This is the magic dust, when to stop trail braking and when to coast, it's a dark art that I totally suck at in really tight corners. I've moaned about this before but i bleed SO MUCH TIME in messy chicanes. I am probably dropping 3 to 4 tenths through the chicane in the Fuji TT compared to my peers (guys at 2 to 3% of the top time) and the same at the final chicane at TM. At TM I am all over DR-B guys through the rest of the lap, just hounding them, then we hit the chicane and i just get absolutely left for dead. I lose time everywhere, entry, mid corner and exit. Brutal.

I can only ask you to do something which is do a few slow laps, and every corner don’t touch anything, see what the car does, then increase the speed but keep that window of actively doing nothing, when it gets repeatable start modulating exit throttle to control the exit.

(Side not the game is forgiving for entires but over optimises exits)

I’m not saying suck eggs, your way to experienced for that but rebase a little which is not arrive and drive, do3 laps with some experimentation

I’m in a similar boat mate. I feel like I have to be doing something with the pedals at all times. Seems like such a backwards concept to coast to go faster (obviously works) but my little brain and big feet can’t seem to comprehend.

I struggle with chicanes as well, when I looked at replays of faster guys they all seemed to get so far over mid corner to maximise the exit.

Check your apex speed on entry and exit and see how it compares to the faster guys. I was a few mph faster coming in then a good few mph slower going out

Yeah i agree. At Fuji for example, the time it takes me to turn right, then left is crazy, i get totally savaged there. Once squared up i exit ok but dear baby jesus i am slow to square her up.

Less is more, trust the grip more than try to force it, just flow and Fuji is the perfect place to let let flow rather than inputs matter.

Now to go quicker you have to be more on it, but reduce that to exit throttle not busy pedals

I'm going to stop using sport mode for a while. I am done with clumsy / dirty driving. Tuesday I did 6 races, out of which 4 went very badly because drivers are too desperate to lose DR. I don't mind if you hit me in a braking zone, this happens to all of us. But if you push me offline and then profit from the fact I now have a bad exit and overtake me I can't keep my cool, and this is not how I want to spend my limited free time. Respect to you people with more patience, but I'm probably too hot headed for online racing with this many people not playing by good racing standards. This is definitely at least as much a me problem as it is a factual problem with dirty drivers, but it is what it is.

Maybe I will try again in the future. But with a new job and a new baby kid coming up I don't want to be annoyed by some video game. Bye bye people! Keep it fun.

Seeing the new TT this week at Alsace Village, I was wondering did we ever have Alsace in Race C ever?

Also, how much fun it would be if we were given the opportunity to drive road cars in Race C(pit stops & different tyre compounds even) instead of GR cars?

Sorry to hear you're having a rough time mate.

Take a break and hopefully come back refreshed, the game will still be here :)

I had 3 weeks off, played some other games, even spoke to wife, she seems nice.

Feel like I've got the bug again now though.

Also school holidays means that probably more youngsters playing and not being as careful as maybe us old buggers!

Good luck with the new job and the baby mate

You said it!

I even had the questionable privilege of sharing a lobby (NSX at Grand Valley) with such mid-pack miscreants that were bad-mouthing the top two A rated (P1 P2) drivers in the post-race lobby for being good enough to be out in front. I was caught in P3, with these guys fighting like crazy behind me whilst the other two raced off into the distance.

The result was such high level banter as "check out the 2 tryhards", "haha losers". Meanwhile I'm being left alone for some reason, I suspect because I'm still wearing my B badge. I couldn't help thinking 'but.... you still finished ahead of some people so doesn't that make you a tryhard as well?'.

The gulf in mentality within the online space in this game is mind-blowing sometimes.
