Ok race c, finally buckled and got me an rcz, ran a 20 6. Its an odd feeling car, feels like a rwd car on gts tbh, totally different to the other gr3 cars in gr7. Very stable but lots of understeer.

Mclaren, Porsche and supra were all about a second a lap slower, the Porsche feels amazing but man 6th gear is just horrible, it's almost lugging.

This is my third attempt at sport on gt7 and the downforce cars feel fine to me but I lack pace. I have friends I regularly beat or was just behind on gts and I am now near a second off their pace. I see two in the mid 19s at spa, I am a second off that.

Yesterday I was out and about with my M6 in Deep Forest, it's fun with him, he's not really competitive, or at least a noticeable bit behind the best. I'm slowly getting a good feeling for the M6 and that makes it really fun.
What's "bad" is, in every race there is always at least one driver who really behaves like the last A hole... I HOPE I'll move up to A soon and have cleaner races there.

Be extra careful and value SR over DR until you reached S. Don’t break directly behind people, go of the racing line if necessary to avoid contact. It doesn’t matter who’s at fault, it’ll Tank your rating.

How does one improve DR in Gran Turismo 7?

I have been doing daily races every day pretty much and I am still on DR D and can't seem to find a way to prigress up, my SR is always S, is it because I am also taking part in the FIA Races so I am currently locked at DR D till the season finishes?

If someone could explain I'd appreciate!
In any race, half the drivers will get minus points and half will get plus points. You have to finish in the top half of any race to increase your points. The higher up you finish the more plus points you get and vice versa. Your points can be seen on a website called Kudos Prime, although Im not sure it has GT7 yet. The DR is tiered. Get above a set amount of points to move up a tier and vice versa.

I could have won daily race A yesterday but I got a penalty for corner cutting at the very last corner. That was the dumbest mistake I have made in this game so far. 🥲

What I don't like about the online part of the game is that people keep bumping into me. I have to break ealier than the others because I don't use ABS and they obviously don't know that or they're just trash. I don't want to play with assists. We need sport mode lobbies where all assists are off. Otherwise I am not competitive in daily race B and C.

The good: Spa looks breathtaking on PS5 in 4K HDR with the sun poking through the dark clouds.
The changing conditions, even just when it's cloud and lighting, makes such a difference when you're just churning laps. Each one is a new visual experience, being so used to Sport it's honestly a 'next gen' feature on its own for me.

Might try fit some racing in this week. Still fairly new to GT so not too sure how fuel mapping etc works. Am I definitely going to need to pit on Spa? Such a nice track when you get it right!

Of course it's up to you to run without ABS but if you brake early you can't complain about being bumped. In reality you are brake checking.
I think ABS is something you should use, every single car in the game after 1988 has ABS in real life
But again, you so what you want, just have to realise the people bumping you aren't trash. They might think you are, for braking what they think is super early

I don't think there will ever be sport mode lobbies without ABS, even all the World Tour people use it.
I sometimes use ABS weak, in road cars, but don't have to break earlier for it

Oh man, not something like that again.

Sorry but you're driving without ABS and are therefore slower and because of that it's someone else's fault if you mess up the time and the braking point?
The reason why some do without ABS is actually that if they can brake absolutely perfectly, they are faster, so they can brake even later, but they have to be very, very precise in dosing the braking force really perfectly.
If you brake earlier and are slower, then you are not better because you do not have ABS, but worse. I'm sorry, I don't want to put you down, but I find this constant demonization of "helpers" just ridiculous. The better racer is the one who cleverly uses what he is allowed to use to be faster.

I don't think you understand how ABS works.

I know you don’t mean to but you are ruining other people’s races doing this. People behind will think you’re brake checking and they’ll be getting penalties by bumping you. Please consider reevaluating this position for online races.

Not even bothering to do online races yet done a few and got punted or kicked offline I've just been grinding away to get as many cars as i can, driving different cars i like to drive on all the tracks i like to drive on. I earn bit over 3mill a day driving the cars i like on the tracks i like its alot more fun and better way to get credits than 1 race every 20-30mins for a few thousand credits or getting rammed into a wall and getting a penalty while the person that rams you is 10 seconds ahead at the end of the race.

That's a pretty one-sided view of things, but everyone is free to enjoy the game however they like.

Many others experience a special attraction in the sporting confrontation with other drivers and they love this challenge, maybe even the nerve tickling.

I can do 1000 races against the AI, even if I make it so hard that I can't win, it doesn't make me feel like I have when I'm competing against other real players.
The amount of credits I gain is currently sufficient for me, since I don't need any additional cars. It would be different if you could also make a loss after the race, so to speak, as repair costs. But maybe that would also be a way to get the races even cleaner.

You could insert their complaint into any racing game forum, it doesn't really make a difference. There is none with perfect, clean racing, it's a fantasy. There is none with a perfect, fully accurate penalty system. Many are worse, some don't even bother with it at all.

Online racing is not a non-contact sport.

I loved online races on gt sport i didn't win many but i don't like getting punted of the track and the person that rams you gets no penalty(or a 2-5sec penalty and its costs me 10sec), the repair cost would be a good idea, i dont do online races to win I'm not that good i just like driving cars i like on tracks i like. Maybe should be some online races with the hard to get cars that require some grinding i never seen one race on gt sport with any of the 20mill cars. Maybe some more variety in online races would be good not just driving a hatch back in a smash up derby and gr3 gr4 or gr1 races make the cars people like to drive in the online races and that you have to earn them.

Pretty new to gtsport and gt7 online races, is there ever a grid start (besides the kart race)? or is everything always rolling start?

There are. We just had a race on nations with a grid start. 1st turn was carnage.

I don’t mind rolling starts but they should make everyone closer and on some tracks is complete bs. Like spa where you start in the bus stop.

The current Daily A is a grid start. You'll usually find Daily A is a standard grid start and sometimes Daily C will be a false start grid start.

Daily B seems to be very dirty this week. Having a lot of issues with brake checkers, stupid dive bombs and just general idiocy. It's not my fault if someone brakes 50 meters early unexpectedly and I punt them off at turn 1.

Possibly the worst week for this so far.

Yeah it was carnage in Nations cup test season 1 as well. Easy to miss or brake too early at those Deep Forest big braking points. Especially the hairpin before final straight. Sometimes you can't make the car stop, if you downshift too slowly or forget to lift the brake early enough. Hopefully not too much crazy stuff in Nations Cup today 🙏

My Dudes, what Car is good for Daily C? In terms of Fuel Economy.
I assume it’s a No Stopper?!

Also, has anyone else been getting dump penalties? I will get punted and the punter will not get a penalty, but me and someone else can knock doors and ill get a penalty. Last week i was also punted and given the penalty lol. Maybe im just having bad luck?

If you are a beginner I highly recommend saving the replay and watching it back to determine if there were or are things you could have done during the race to avoid contact. Everyone on track is another player, not the AI, they will not be predictable, they will not give in easily, and they will not always have 100% control over their car or its movements.

The penalty system isn't perfect but is not out to get you personally. It will continue to be tweaked and adjusted as we go, but will never be perfect I'm afraid, neither will players. It's worth learning how your positioning on track, or decisions you have made during races, may contribute to the 'hard done by' feelings after contact or penalties you receive or lack of a penalty given to others.

And sometimes, yep, it can be just bad luck.

Quickie:

Where are all the stats from sport mode?

In my profile all I have is 5 stats - clean races, fastest laps, pole positions, races and victories.

Why in the blue hell would polyphony not at least include podiums, or even top 10 finishes?

Pretty sure I could check Gtsport stuff like that out on granturismo.com, records for each individual track.

I agree on the divebombs and general idiocy but not sure about brake checker. You better brake early when in slipstream before first corner or hairpin…

i like the intensity of race b this week.Had some good races in the top 5 but if i race/start lower it can be warzone on wheels…
