This is what I was talking about. How is this a penalty? I went in there carefully to make sure I stayed away from the curbs as much as possible and I still get penalized. This happens randomly lap after lap. Impossible to race in such conditions.

Yeah the hard shoulders on the public roads are not classed as the racing track.

I think this guide if for iracing, but gives you a rough idea of the limits. Track limits

I wish they would sort out the track limits on race b. T3 I’ve seen people drive off the track to then swing back on. Also nearly all corners you can just cut across the curbs.

I got penalised in the pit entry in race C. I was too agressive in that chicane TBH, almost crashed. Instead of saving fuel to avoid pit, I prefer to go full gas all the race and try not to change tyres (it's fun try not to destroy them going like qualy). Not so different results from the saving strategy and have some fun overtaking cars that save at the end

I’m enjoying Race C now. I like that they are two strategies available.
I don’t like the CLK. On the straights it’s fine but when you get to the twists at Indianapolis and Porsche Curves it’s handling and braking is horrible.
I’m yet to try the flat out and pit approach. Might try it once and see how it goes.

Anyone done a flat out and pit in a GTR or Lexus RC F? I can got a lot quicker in the RC F and this is what set my quali time, but when I match making mode I qualify about P10.
Todays race I qualified P10 and got a P4. P1 & P2 quali times were 5/4 seconds quicker me and we’re in CLKs so had no chance with them. And P3 was GTR driver 3 seconds ahead.

You are too far to the left at the entrance to the chicane, if I understand correctly.. the line on the left marks the outer boundary of the track, you have to see these lines on the track as if they were curbs.
Try to drive on these lines with a maximum of 50% of your car, so you have enough safety distance for the unforeseen.
Yeah that’s it. Never thought that dotted lines would count as track limits for some reason. ive driven this track on other games and never had that issue. anyways, thanks a million. Now I can race these ****ers. Lol

Is there a server split between the PS4 and PS5? Sorry if this has been answered somewhere.

The server isn't a collection of PS4's, and the server doesn't need to render the background. It's just handling the client/server information, so there may not strictly need to be a split. Is there an actual split or is everyone racing on the same servers?

I'm still using my PS4. I have only ever upgraded past playstations because of Gran Turismo. I didn't need to this time, so I didn't. I'll wait until the second gen PS5 before considering it.

They are kept separate in Sport mode, lobbies and GTWS are cross gen though.

Did my first daily race in GT7 last night. Figured I would go for the trophy and ended up having a really solid race.

Daily C - CLK-LM
Started - P15
Finished - P4

Went into this race with no expectations, starting P15 I decided that I was just going to stay as clean as possible. Didn't know the strategy at all so when I saw the fuel be an issue on FM 1 I switched to FM 3/4 and was fine. Drafting down the Mulsanne I moved it to 6 otherwise I would stay in 3/4 and did some big lift and coasting. Moved up to 8th after a bunch of people got penalties for contact and track limits. Almost got dive bombed hard in Arnage by someone with a 3.5 sec pen already but saw it happening when he tried to overtake before Indianapolis in the fast right hander. He ended up in the gravel trap haha.

Lap 3, saw that my tyres were fine and my fuel saving was good, passed a lot of people in the pits and moved up to 4th. Nothing eventful until the last lap when 3rd pitted and I managed to pass them out of Tetre Rouge on the Mulsanne. The galaxy brain got me on track limits coming out of the end of the Porsche Curves and dropped to 4th after the 1 sec penalty by 0.020 seconds.

Got the CRB and remembered how much fun I had doing the daily races.

Idiots like him need slamming of the road! After watching that racing etiquettes video at the beginning of this week (clearly that idiot ahead of you didn’t watch it) I’m hoping they working on adding a weaving penalty.
I raced someone today who had a user handle of “im2fast4u” well funny thing was he finished down 8th place.

Out of curiosity… im guessing you was fuel saving? If so what do you run to allow you to rev to near the limit. I run 3 laps in mix 2 half shift then mix 1 with a mix of full and half shifts. This gets me just over the line.

I drive to 1 stop, saving fuel only ensures that I definitely fall further behind and there are only such drivers on the road.

I had 3 such catastrophic races today with such players. And what else is there to do? If you drive more defensively, you are slower and lose places... I have to drive my Nissan fast where it has an advantage, if such players behave like this with these dirty rental carts, the whole races are pointless.
The player who blocked me there did that in 2 races with me and others.. and the most ridiculous.. ASM AND Countersteer active... What a ridiculous little sausage.

Cheers. Yeah fuel saving only works in certain races. If you can stay within 20 seconds of the leader when they pit you have a great chance of winning. I know once I’m a decent amount of time ahead after the pits stop and I’m running on mix 1 I can stay ahead of the CLKs.

In this weeks race c I will always let the CLKs past if they attack me on the Mulsanne, absolutely no point fight and losing time. let them past and slip, stream them.
I had a driver in a CLK today just pointlessly drive into the side of me on the Mulsanne. Don’t think they like the fact I was able to past them at the first chicane as they went wide

Yes. Players like him.

I wish we could have back the report function back.
It is a must have IMHO, it could be implemented in a way that too many reports of the same username, lead to some kind of investigation
or a few banned days.

Tried out the GT-R several times last night for Daily C. Yes, it's just about as fast as the CLK; I think I'm faster in the GT-R as the CLK and I don't get along. Problem is - as others already mentioned - the GT-R gains most of its lap time through the Porsche curves and somewhat in the first sector but loses bad everywhere else. Basically cannot allow any CLK driver ahead of you before entering the Porsche curves unless the gap is around 2 seconds.

The report function never did anything.
No one ever read these reports.
Not for "Interfering with race", but that guy quite clearly has a reportable livery (which is why it shouldn't have been embedded without any warnings), and that function very much does something and does still exist...

... so go to his profile and report it.

I think the only thing you can do is get slightly along side his rear quarter and nudge him around in a PIT maneuver. There isn't an official way to get these A-holes out of the races, so they unfortunately need to be sent to the shadow realm and meet Barrie-R.

I'm not so protective of my DR that I won't take out an instigator.

Alright, had a very frustrating night at Laguna Seca, and I'm starting to wonder how much of it is drivers and how much is servers. First off the console gen split is annoying. My lobbies never hit 12 cars and I had from A/S to C/B drivers in the same grid. With up to 7 seconds a lap difference in qualifying time.

I know it's gonna be some close racing there, but I kept starting p1 or p2 and was pushed clean off at turn 1 the first 3 races. Twice on entry by someone being completely off track already and once on exit as someone just drove me straight off like the outside car is no longer allowed on track. Got pushed wide on a few other corners.

This ain't Formula 1 and it's seemingly stupid overtaking rules hinting that the outside car has to give up, both cars have a right to be on track.

But in my last race I had a good start, drove a bit sloppy, but was having a great race with the car behind, who has run me off many times before in GTS. I screw up and he passes me clean with nice pass. I get a better run up the hill to the corkscrew and am halfway alongside so decide to stay there and run him narrow. We hit the braking zone and as we crest the hill he launches off track. I win, but ask him afterwards what went on from his screen and he says I drove straight into the back of him. I swear up and down on my screen I was beside him, telling him I was definitely not trying to touch him since he was so clean before. But there was no penalty and the car reaction was like I had rammed him. At the point of 'contact' my front wheels were just at his back wheels as I wanted to brake earlier in case he over cooked it. Ruined a close race even though I had sloppy moments earlier.

And now I'm wondering how many times I was run off by people who saw on their radar that I was fully behind them.

Maybe it's been mentioned before, but i wish the Daily races were matchmade by lap times and not driver safety ratings. I always get from D-C-B, but the game then decides to put me in a server/match with guys much quicker than me and now always at the back of the pack. I know some folks will just say "try harder", i have improved by a couple of seconds and now hit a wall with beating some times, and now racing folks that are 2-5 seconds faster than me :boggled:

If its a rental, dont be gentle.
Best rent-a -racer ever!

First of all, please excuse me, I didn't realize or thought of posting these videos "hidden". I'm also not familiar with this function on my cell phone.

I tried to report this player, apparently there is no longer an entry to report him because of his auto design like in GTS. The report was therefore processed and rejected because the reported behavior could not be proven.

My experience is kinda the dead opposite, I’m at DR B and SR perfect S, and I usually qualify +2% to +3% compared to the regional best, and then I’ll be in a race with drivers of similar pace but with various DR & SR. DR can be from A to D and SR can be as bad as C (really terrifying if the guy is right behind me…). So I always thought qualifying time were given more weight in matchmaking.

I am new to GT7..what is a META car? is it car that has distinct advantage like the Atenza seems to have?

Very interesting night qualifying for Race B. Jumped in my trusty WRX, managed a 2.06 flat but having MASSIVE issues locking up the rear brakes on three corners. It's really, really bad. It has to be costing me best part of a second, i have no confidence chucking the car into a corner.

Then tried the Alfa, car feels great but again the locking of brakes. Again a 6 flat but must have lost 3/4 second to the rears locking up.

Atenza time, struggled at first but got it down to the low 6's as well, brakes were fine.

Given I can rent cars tried the vette, much to my astonishment I DID NOT NEED TC, which is just nuts. Actually felt good and got it down to a 6 flat as well.

So 4 cars, all effectively the same time but leaving a huge amount on the table in the wrx and the alfa due to the rears locking up. Not being able to adjust BB is a real killer, no idea why they nerfed this.
I noticed that too with the WRX.. Would be better if we still had the brake bias choice, which would be useful in this situation?

Tonight, I had two daily race wins, which is the first time I had done so in the same night. The first one was in Race A and the other one was in Race B. They were the 49th and 50th Sport Mode races respectively I've finished. On both of these races, I used rented cars, the first time I had done so.

This driver and probably other drivers with such behavior are driving with ASM and/or countersteering assistants, which makes it very difficult to impossible to simply turn them around and by driving without such helpers I risk losing control of my vehicle for myself to lose....

Anyway I got banned from PSN yesterday, according to the email I must have uploaded inappropriate content...if this relates to this video then I can't help laughing as it wasn't even my livery and I don't share his view...
In the other case in question for this ban, I was insulted by a player in the middle of the race as "disabled person ectr", to which I reacted after the race, but this to the best of my knowledge with a level-headed and acceptable language. I could also prove that player's first insult since I saved the video... but

1. you will NOT be asked about this incident, ergo it is a dictatorship of PSN

2. I can't even present this proof now because it's stored IN THE GAME and I can't access it because of the ban.

For my part, I am deeply appalled by this behavior from Sony, I am now really convinced that it is best for me to return to this whole company, the game and the console.

----

By the way, in one race, in the last corner of S4, I was hit hard by a driver behind me, as a result of which my vehicle shot the man in front into the gravel bed, I was already on the brakes, but the force from behind was just so great, that I had no chance to avoid this.
The player in front of me was on 1 at the time and I was on 2.

I got a penalty for that and the number 1 driver left the race. In principle, my race was over and the "culprit" was on 1. I can't judge whether it was intentional or a mistake, because I also left the race on lap 3. Because the player wrote to me on fire.
I explained the incident to him, which unfortunately I couldn't do anything unless I had expected what the man behind was going to do.
Anyway, the 2 of us "suffered" from this incident but now get along well and wish each other good luck in future races!
